Manicure Monday: Butter London Kerfluffle

Hey everyone and hope you had a nice Memorial Day weekend! Mani Monday is Mani Tuesday this week for those of you who are back in the office. Today's nail polish is a pink that definitely pulls in line with the pastel neon trend but comes from Butter London. I've previously tried their base and top coat but this was my first time trying their color products. Let's check out cute Kerfluffle below!

Interview & Evolution of From Head To Toe

Happy weekend everyone! I just wanted to pop in and share a recent interview I had with The Korea Times which covers my whole background and experience developing From Head To Toe.

It's been a surreal journey going from making home videos on my Sony Cybershot and blogging in my free time after my 8-to-5 in Kansas to, well, making home videos (In HD this time! With lights! And a mic!) and sending Tweets, Instagrams, and blog posts out to hundreds of thousands. It's not the numbers that give me the most pride, it's the exponential ability to send waves of positivity out that really brings a happy-tear lump to my throat.

To read the article you can click here or the photo above. Thank you so much to Julie Carlson and The Korea Times. I am beyond honored to be featured.

Just because it's crazy to see the changes my Youtube channel has gone through over the years, here's a look back at some of my past videos and how they've molded into what they are now!

Uploaded September 2009, Just Mascara + Monolid Tutorial is one of the oldest tutorials I posted on Youtube that still remains on my channel. Earlier videos were deleted at one point or another before I was aware you could private them.

Here is my very first Urban Decay Naked Palette tutorial from almost a year later, August 2010.

I really started falling in love with doing more dramatic K-pop inspired makeup tutorials and Rania "Dr. Feel Good" is one of my favorites from May 2011. You can see I started talking through tutorials compared to just being shy and typing out text before.

By May 2012 I felt like I had a better hang on how to speak in front of a camera much more naturally than before. This Smoky Eye Prom Makeup Tutorial has been a great basic reference and currently has over a million views.

In June 2013 I was living in my first LA apartment with my amazing husband Ben manning the camera which, as you can clearly see, improved things quite a bit! It's only fitting that I share my Bridal Makeup Tutorial.

I suppose that brings us up to date to 2014 and my current videos. I've expanded my range covering makeup tutorials, fashion lookbooks, makeup basics, hair tutorialstags, hauls, monthly favorites, and even my morning routine

We are constantly thinking of video ideas and new ways to improve and grow everything about From Head To Toe and I only hope that we can push ourselves further in the years to come. My dream was and is to help women (and men) feel more confident in themselves both inside and out and I feel blessed beyond words to be doing something that I love every single day.

I thank God that I have you guys reading, watching, supporting, and sharing because it's not me that's making my dreams happen, it's you. I can't make a single person subscribe but I can say THANK YOU! With a humble and forever grateful heart, thank you.

Readers, what is your all-time favorite video or blog post I've done? What would you like to see more of in the future? Let me know in the comments!

CONCEALER 101: Top Picks & Tutorial for a Flawless Face

Ahh, concealer. It's one of those "first baby steps" makeup products that we try out to cover up acne spots in our youth and dark under eye circles from late nights studying or, let's be fair, late weekends out in college.

Over the last several years I've tried my fair share of concealers and feel pretty happy with my arsenal of concealing tools as well as techniques to seamlessly apply them for a flawless, yet natural look. Lets go over some of the best options from all price points as well as my easy application technique!

Happy Monday! Today's Manicure Monday is another from the OPI Brazil Collection but with a decidedly darker and more sophisticated twist. Amazon...Amazoff is a decadently teal-based green that is perfectly suited for those who want a pop of color that will go with everything.

Heart 2 Heart: Self-Confidence

It's the middle of May and once again I find myself contemplating Bloggers With No Makeup Day, which is a day I may be alone is celebrating 5 years after it first began. Should a day of connecting with who we are naturally, publicly, makeup-free, only occur once in a lifetime? It's the reason why I first began making Heart 2 Heart videos which might be the most important thing I've done in my entire career so even if it is only a handful whom it may affect, it's worth celebrating annually.

Today I wanted to talk about a global misconception: Self-Confidence. One of the crazy fascinating things about the internet is that it connects all of us in such an immediate way without any walls between cameras and computer screens, even thousands of miles apart. Because we are constantly bombarded with an overflow of media telling us how to be sexier, healthier, richer, and younger, it's difficult not to feel like we are the only ones inadequate to meet society's standards. This is exactly why I believe self-confidence the internet's greatest fallacy. Everyone believes everyone else is more put-together and confident than we are. I'm not saying it's a lie to make us all feel down, but actually the opposite. Thank goodness we aren't all perfect robotrons with perfect homes and perfect lives eating perfect meals in perfect bodies!

Because we aren't all immaculate unicorns, we have to derive confidence from something other than perfection.

To all you who are self-conscious, to all who have ever felt insecure, to anyone who is imperfect, this is from my heart to yours.

If you are interested in checking out my past Heart 2 Heart posts, you can click the links below:

Thank you guys for being an imperfect, honest, loyal, and uplifting community. I love you guys dearly and consider it the hugest blessing and honor to be able to share my pains and triumphs alongside you, my sisters and brothers, knowing we are all in this game together.

Lets fight to spread positivity and put our strength toward making waves of change with courage, humility, and faith, not simply trying to fit in or be beautiful. You are already beautiful, now believe it!

Readers, what is an insecurity that you struggle or have struggled in the past with? What do you do to boost your self-confidence? Share in the comments below!

Happy Monday Today I wanted to share a pastel yellow polish from Deborah Lippmann's Spring Reveries collection which is this buttery shade called Build Me Up Buttercup. With the ever-warming weather, this color reminds me of laying out on a sunny beach while sipping a lemonade.

A Tribute To Mothers: "When I Grow Up" w/ Jubilee Project

Hey everyone! Today I wanted to share a very special film I recently recorded in collaboration with the amazing guys at Jubilee Project. Mothers from all backgrounds and walks of life breathe love and sacrifice into raising their children and sometimes we only see the parts visible to us: the breakfasts, hugs, phone calls, and forcing us to do homework and piano practice. It's easy to overlook all the moments when they were up before us, working hard, praying that we could live a better life than they did.

Since Mother's Day is this coming Sunday, I wanted to present When I Grow Up to you and my own mother (I love you Omma!) where I play a young, struggling mother myself.

REVIEW & SWATCHES: All Urban Decay Eyeliners (cream, pencil, liquid)

The perfect eye-enhancing black line is a basic makeup concept that is the final frame for a gorgeous eye. There are a million different eyeliners out there and the process of choosing what type, shade of black, intensity, and crispness works best for you can be daunting. Fortunately, Urban Decay recently came out with 4 brand new eyeliners which cover the whole spectrum of eyeliner tastes! (Who's excited? I know you're excited.)

Not only have they finally added a cream eyeliner to their lexicon which I am a huge fan of, but they also have a couple new pencils and even a pen-style liquid eyeliner that is super user-friendly. Let's check them out below!

Today's Mani Monday is another polish from the OPI Brazil collection which is absolutely perfect for warm, sunny weather or those dang lucky ones going on tropical Spring Break vacations. Live.Love.Carnaval is a really vibrant shade of hot watermelon which I somehow always find myself craving this time of year.
