From opacity to ease of application to hydrating feel, it ticks off plenty of boxes as a favorite go-to lippy.
It's that time of the year again where every makeup company is buzzing about their new holiday collections and Shu Uemura definitely has one of the most exciting ones this year! As in holidays past, they have teamed up with Takashi Murakami for a limited edition collection featuring his iconic flower motif.
Hey all! Today I wanted to share with you another makeup collection in collaboration with Burberry and Sephora which was used in Burberry's February 2016 Womenswear show. I'm so excited to be partnering with Burberry, so wanted to send a big thank you to Burberry for sponsoring this blog post and sending me these to try out! As the designer label is known for, there is a mixture of luminous, wearable makeup with a bit of sparkly edge.
Who has dinky lashes? I have dinky lashes! I don't know about you, but anything that promises to plump up my puny lashes is worth a solid go for me so I was eager to test out Burberry's brand new Cat Lashes Mascara, a volumizing mascara that fans out lashes for a delicious cat-eye like effect. Thank you so much to Burberry and Sephora for partnering with me and sending me these beauties for me to share!
If any of you remember how gaga I went over Burberry's limited edition fragranced highlighting powder over the holidays, you will know why I wanted to dedicate a separate review post for these gorgeous face illuminating powders that Burberry has released for their Spring/Summer 2016 collection, available at Sephora. From the delicate lace pattern to the lovely formula the Runway Palettes are absolutely killing it in the luxury highlighting powder department. A huge thank you to Burberry and Sephora for partnering with me and sending me these beauties!
You guys know I've been on a big low-maintenance kick (what with being pregnant) and in terms of eye shadows, I'm all about something that is super easy to whip on, smudge in, and stay all day. That's why I was particularly interested in Burberry's new release of the Eye Colour Contour pens, which are now available at Sephora. As part of my partnership with Burberry, I love getting the inside scoop on their products and getting to share that with you all which is what I'll be doing today!
Today I wanted to share a few items from the Burberry Kisses family of lipsticks, glosses, and balms. As part of my partnership with the brand, I've been blessed to try so many amazing products from Burberry but I've got to admit their lip products totally stand out as being stars in the entire lineup. Gorgeous, luxurious, and totally wearable for the everyday woman, it's only natural that recently some of these have become my go-to lip products for a moisturizing feel for everyday. I have my designated lippies for when I want to make a statement but I also like something I can throw in a purse and pull out for an extra hint of color without too much fuss and I can say Burberry knows how to kill it in both arenas!
Burberry First Kiss Glossy Lip Balm
To start, the Burberry First Kiss Glossy Lip Balm which imparts a sheer and moisturizing layer of shine. The color on these is incredibly subtle but enhances the lips from their natural color, which is nice for lazy days. I also really like the porcelain tips which leave a cooling sensation during application! I loooove these but expect not to see drastic differences between colors on medium skintones since this is definitely a balmy product.
Oh goodness gracious, Urban Decay has a brand new lipstick line out for the Summer and it's going to go strong through the Fall as well! Introducing Matte Revolution which is a collection of 9 shades (plus 2 more exclusive to urbandecay.com and UD boutiques) full of bold, creamy opacity.
More than calling these straight-up mattes, I see the Matte Revolutions as being a sister to the original Revolution lipstick since most of them don't have that uncomfortable dry feeling typically associated with matte products but it certainly has all of the extreme pigment you'd expect.
I've got to say, today's review was a definite freak-out-moment product for me. I was completely unprepared for the next sibling from Urban Decay's NAKED clan to have appeared already (If you want a full side by side, here's my comparison of the past 3.) and she's just as lovely as her predecessors. I'm talking about UD's NAKED SMOKY Palette.
Let's let that sink in. An entire smoky palette.
Yes, we've seen some smoky companions in the past like the Smoked Palette but Naked Smoky has every piece you need for the perfect smoky eye including a stellar highlight shade, a few shimmers to make the lid pop, and a plethora of sexy smoky colors so you can create a proper variety of smoky eyes and everyday looks alike.
Now, I'm a bit biased. I always use a darker shadow even on my less-makeup days due to my monolid eyes so I'm constantly on the lookout for browns, grays, and blacks that will go on properly opaque and true to the pan.
Drumroll, please...
Wooooah, it's been a long time since I was this excited about a new product release. You guys already know I'm the biggest sucker for blush and Urban Decay's brand new Afterglow 8-Hour Powder Blush is a huge reason for me to pinch myself (no need to pinch the cheeks because dang, these guys are full of dramatic color already).
Here are the 12 shades of Afterglow which have a variety of everyday wearable neutrals as well as some really vibrant pops of bold color in both matte and shimmer finishes.
Whenever a new MAC Viva Glam comes out, I'm always interested in picking it up not just due to the celebrity association (which can be pretty cool) but also because every cent of proceeds goes toward helping women, men, and children living with AIDS.
I got lucky thanks to a random NYC MAC store pop-in and happened to purchase the newly released VIVA GLAM Miley Cyrus lipstick and lipgloss set early. From the vivid hot pink shade to the heart and signature printed on the packaging, I had a feeling I'd fall hard for this one.
When I opened up my mail and saw this year's Urban Decay Vice 3 Palette (which I didn't even know was going to be made....eee!) my heart gave a little flutter and I actually squealed out loud. Check out this beaut'! The reflective cover, ocean-sunset streaks, and chartreuse crystallized lettering looked very promising. Would this palette live up to the exceptional Vice's past? Let's take a gander below!

Naked 2 Basics Palette
COMPARISON: Urban Decay Naked 2 BASICS vs. Naked BASICS (original)
'Ello, ello! As I mentioned in my Urban Decay Naked 2 Basics Review, it's becoming increasingly necessary to do this type of side-by-side comparison post as the "naked" palette eyeshadow phenomenon keeps growing. There are so many subtle variations to each palette! How to we know what will work best on us? How do we know we won't have dupes?
Well, my ladydollsandpossiblymen, that's what I'm here for. Bring on the neutral synonyms!
Hey everyone, I hope you are having an awesomely neutral day! Another day, another Naked Palette it seems. I'm absolutely not complaining since you guys know of my love affair with the four previous "nakeds" from Urban Decay so I wanted to share with you UD's most recent offering: Naked 2 Basics.
Like its predecessor Naked Basics, this comes in the exact same format. A small iPhone-sized compact holding 6 neutral eyeshadows (in cooler tones this time) with a full-sized mirrored lid and slightly rubbery case.
Hey everyone! Today I wanted to share a review of the brand new Dual Intensity Eyeshadows from NARS. This is a fresh formula which is particularly special because you can use it dry for a traditional eyeshadow experience or add a drop of water to up the ante and make it even more opaque and dramatic.
NARS says these shadows have a sheer, luminous finish when applied dry but I was really interested to see if the performance was smooth and usable even if I didn't want to use it wet. The dry-to-wet formulas I've tested in the past have been less than impressive so I really wanted to see if this would change my perception. Lets check out Himalia and Cassiopeia below!
Ahhh, blush. There are few things in the makeup world I am more apt to collect than a really great blush. There's just something about them that makes me weak in the knees and convinced that I need multiples of the all-flattering "warm pink with gold shimmer" iconic shade of which NARS Orgasm is the Original-Gangsta-Mac-Daddy of them all.
To have such a blush-inducing (pardon the pun) name that beauty addicts spit out without a second gasp (ok, I really need to stop) must mean that the color is so well-known that the usual whispers and giggles should only be used after an exhilarating.... ahem. Shopping haul.
Well, NARS' new NARSissist Cheek Kit has the perfect balance of contour, blush, and highlight that will leave even the most neutral of clients flushed. ;)
The perfect eye-enhancing black line is a basic makeup concept that is the final frame for a gorgeous eye. There are a million different eyeliners out there and the process of choosing what type, shade of black, intensity, and crispness works best for you can be daunting. Fortunately, Urban Decay recently came out with 4 brand new eyeliners which cover the whole spectrum of eyeliner tastes! (Who's excited? I know you're excited.)
Not only have they finally added a cream eyeliner to their lexicon which I am a huge fan of, but they also have a couple new pencils and even a pen-style liquid eyeliner that is super user-friendly. Let's check them out below!
Hey guys! Today I wanted to share with you a review on a blush that I've been rather smitten with lately. Hourglass, who is known especially for their fabulously glowing setting powders, came out with a line of corresponding Ambient Lighting Blushes which have the same finely milled texture and glowing appearance. Obviously this was going to be a huge cult hit from the get-go.
Um, can we just take a moment to appreciate the sexy gold marbling? Ahhh....
Today's review is of an extremely popular eyeshadow palette that has been receiving a ton of buzz: Too Faced's Chocolate Bar Palette. There are few things in life I can think of that have a stronger visceral connection than women and chocolate, so it makes serious marketing sense to have a palette that literally wafts the stuff up to your nostrils as soon as you open it. I'm not kidding, I had to steal this from my husband because I would find him sniffing it with eyes glazed over.
Without further ado, I present to you the most delicious makeup in my collection:
