I love playing around with bright eyeshadows. Before I knew about shadow primers and which brands were more pigmented, I used to get so frustrated with colors not showing up on my yellow-undertones. Now that I realize which bright colors look awesome AND show up well, I love to play around with combinations.

I've seen a few rainbow eyes on makeup blogs and youtube but I wanted to try to make a look that used brights but were still wearable for the daytime and this is what I came up with. The look came out much more vibrantly in person, but didn't scream '80's.

The tools:
*LA Colors palette in "Tease"

*NYX Pencil Eyeliner in "Moss"

*Maybelline waterproof Liquid Eyeliner

*Max Factor Lash Perfection (waterproof top, non-waterproof bottom lashes)

*Urban Decay Primer Potion


First, I applied the eyeshadow primer then used the orange color on the inner half of the eyelid. Next, I used the hot pink color in the crease and outer corner. I used the green eyeliner to line my bottom lash line and put electric blue eyeshadow on the outer half of the lash line. To finish, I highlighted my browbone and tear ducts and applied black liquid liner to my upper lash line. Top it off with some black mascara and you are set!







It was a really fun, summery look for me so let me know if you guys try it out!

My makeup routine definitely had to change while in the hot and humid Florida weather, so I wanted to give a little rundown for a few key looks I had throughout the trip. Not only did I bring only a few eyeshadows, but most of my makeup was travel-sized and nothing was put on too heavy as far as the rest of the face goes. With all of the sweating and sightseeing, I wanted my skin to breathe and foundation comes off your face quickly anyhow!

For anyone who goes outside a lot during the summertime, here are a few tips:

1. Stay hydrated! Keep water on you at all times for drinking, and also for misting your face and body when you get too hot.
2. Wear sunscreen even if it is cloudy. At the beach I wore Panama Jack spf 45 and I also wore a fantasticly huge sun hat.
3. Wear comfy shoes. Flip flops with no padding will kill your feet after an amusement park all day.
4. Put all valuable items in a ziplock bag. You don't want these to get wet or sandy at the beach or park.
5. Don't forget your sunglasses! Eyes need protection too. :)
6. If you wear contacts, bring a lens case and travel solution to the beach. Saltwater stings a lot so be careful!
7. Bring chapstick with sunscreen. It's easy to forget, but painful if you forget it.


My first look was from a beach day. I didn't want to use tape since it is definitely NOT waterproof! The trick is to stay clean and simple. Eyeshadow will come off in the water and mascaras will smudge so your best bet is to use waterproof liquid liner and call it a day. Here, I used a bit of blue shadow & highlight and my MAC fluidline in blacktrack.





This is a hair and clothes look. I bought Garnier Fructis Surf Hair Texture Paste and scrunched my hair with it while dry. I was really pleased with how it turned out. I got matte volume and it wasn't too overdone for how hot the weather was.
My outfit was maybe a bit too over-matchy but I did not care! I was feeling really fresh and fun. One thing I did was layer a sports bra with built-in cups under my dress. It was more comfortable and gave a little more coverage than with the low-cut dress itself. The bra is from Korea, dress is from Forever 21, necklace is vintage, and shoes I bought in FL at Beall's outlet in the kids' department.





Finally, this was the makeup look I had for Disney World's Magic Kingdom. I knew it would be a long, hot day with plenty of pics so I made sure to use Urban Decay Primer Potion. I matched my shadows to my shirt and did a pinky purple look. The pink was from the Revlon Colorstay palette (berry bloom) and the purple was from an LA Colors palette (mesmerize).
On trips, palettes are definitely a must-have. Bring at least one with bright colors and one with neutrals and it should be enough variety for many outfits. Just make sure you wrap them well in bubble wrap for the trip and try using Glad Press n' Seal wrap over the shadows in case they break.




I hope you few of these looks can be helpful for those of you who live in humid conditions or are going on vacation. For me, the trick was to play up the eyes and play down the rest of the face. Hope your days aren't TOO hot and your vacations (and makeup) go smoothly. :)

Sorry, this will be a huge picture post but I just had so much I wanted to share! I had the most spectacular time on my honeymoon in Orlando, Florida and got to see so many things that I haven't been to since I was 7 years old. It was a lot of fun getting to go back to Seaworld and Disneyworld as an adult. Technology at the parks has really come a long way, and Discovery Cove is brand new. That was the place that we got to swim with dolphins and snorkel with live fish and manta rays. Everything was very exciting and the weather was VERY hot, which I'm sure you can see in some of the photos. :)

We first went to Seaworld. I love animals of all types, so it was really a joy to see the different aquatic animals there. The shows were especially amazing too!





After a day of relaxing and visiting the beach and shopping, we had our scheduled day at Discovery Cove. We had reserved to go ahead of time and the day consisted of snorkling with fish, a scheduled time to meet and swim with a dolphin, all-inclusive food for the entire day (I ate a ton of food and got 2 desserts), and seeing various exotic mammals and birds. We did have a lightning storm impede upon the park for a short while, but all in all it was amazing!







We then got a really great morning at the beach. Nothing like some fun in the sun to boost your inner happy!







Then on our last day, we ended up at Magic Kingdom in Disneyworld. We rode tons of rides and got a bride and groom set of mickey ears. It was wonderful being told congratulations by everyone without even telling anyone!









It was just the best way to end an amazing week that I will never forget! All of my love goes to my friends and family who support me, my wonderful God, and of course the love of my life, Ben. Thank you! I had the time of my life!

Hey guys! This past weekend I took a trip out to the lake and had the chance of stopping by a Cosmetics Company Outlet store. This place is great and has lots of MAC products for quite a discount.


I ended up buying:

MAC eye shadow in Moonflower
MAC fluidline in Jadeye
MAC "trip" liquidlast liners set of 3
-Blue Herizon
-Powerplum
-Point Black
Clinique brush-on cream liner in Deep Brown

These are some swatches I took, in yellow bathroom light and in natural light. Moonflower has UDPP in the first swatch, and applied bare in the second.




I went a little eyeliner crazy, but I personally think eyeliner is one of the most important and emphasizing eye products you can use. I've been dying to get some blues into my collection too, so I can't wait to do a look with these. It will especially be interesting for you fellow tape-users out there!

My favorites out of this haul are the Jadeye fluidline, and Powerplum and Blue Herizon liquidlast liner. They all have this really pretty sheen to them. I especially love the little gold flecks in the Jadeye that didn't pick up on camera. The Moonflower eyeshadow also looks like a pretty teal with slight shimmer, way better in person.

Here is a photo of our relaxing view outside the cabin. It must've been the inspiration for my new colors!

I just got internet hooked up at the new apartment about an hour ago and compulsively felt the need to update. The 3-week break from the net was alright, but I am ready to get back to being connected again. I don't have a whole lot to update other than that we are still unpacking but we have been really dilligent about trying to exchange, return, and buy things for our home. I'm pretty amazed at how profound the effect of not having a microwave can be. We so take them for granted. We just bought this LG microwave yesterday from Best Buy so I guess I'll post about it if I have any problems.


I can't wait until everything is clean so I can show you guys how we decorated the place. I really love it. Maybe my digicam cord will pop up in the process so I can upload my honeymoon photos too. ;)

I also saw that my dear Kassia uploaded a couple preview photos of Ben and my "day after" wedding shoot. I am always jaw-droppingly, continually amazed by her talent. What can I say? I've never felt so glamorous in my life. Thank you so much, Kassia!

Hey everyone! Sorry for not updating in so long but I haven't been on a computer in weeks. It's so crazy going from being online everyday to being in a whirlwind of moving, wedding, and honeymoon business!

First off, I want to let everyone know that the wedding was beautiful and went off without a hitch. Well, other than me accidentally leaving my husband's ring at home on accident and making a groomsman drive back there only to get back 5 minutes before the ceremony. ;) Hey, at least it wasn't my obligation to run around in my huge dress right? That's one of the wonderful things about being the bride: getting help with everything. Of course, most of the time you need it too. (Anyone hear about bridesmaid horror stories of helping the bride back up into a bathroom stall during the reception? Thank goodness I didn't have to go until after it was all over!)

Another strange thing that I realized was that the bride just waits. She doesn't see the ceremony start, or any of the guests come in. She doesn't hear the music begin or the flower girl acting silly. You just wait for your cue, grab your dad's arm, and attempt to walk on in without sobbing or tripping. I was not at all nervous until I was waiting alone in the room with my veil on after all of my bridesmaids had left. There's a moment of OMG WAIT IT'S REALLY HAPPENING! But I wouldn't change it any other way. I'm glad I wasn't stressing the whole time.

The actual ceremony was beautiful. We decorated with purple orchids with white bows on the pews and white and purple flower arrangements on the altar. Our girls wore mint green strapless floor-length dresses with a black velvet band around the waist and the groomsmen had black tuxes with black microfiber shirts, black vests, and mint green ties. We had two flower girls and the ring bearer (cutest boy ever) wore a traditional Korean little boy's hanbok. I wish I could say I could really take in the details but the truth is, all I saw was Ben, the blurriness from my tears, and the inside of my veil. I can't wait to get the photos and wedding video back to see everything I missed. Oh, and one more thing, I finally got to see my ring again after being ringless for a couple weeks because it had to get soldered. OH MAN it looked huge and sparkly with the band attached to the engagement ring! It looks like a whole new ring and I can't stop staring at it.
