Happy New Years Eve (or New Years, depending on where you are located)! As the year comes to a close it only makes sense to celebrate it in a sparkling and festive way. I actually needed to record a New Years makeup tutorial so I knew my nails should be something that would match the mood as well. As I looked through my nail drawer, this lovely polish caught my eye.

Hey everyone! Today I have another holographic polish to share with you from Layla's Hologram Effect line, and this time it's a wonderful smokey grey shade called Flash Black. As much as I love the colorfulness that holographic polishes provide, sometimes you just want to wear something a little more everyday that will match any outfit. This is one of those perfect polishes that is so special because there is an easy wearability to it but it has that special kick at the same time keeping it edgy and never boring.

This polish is, dare I say, sexy? It's soooo sexy!

Hey everyone! Today's tutorial is my go-to makeup lately for those lazy days where I want to look put together but QUICKLY. I know smokey eyes can seem daunting for those who don't wear darker shadows but I've found that the method that I use actually produces a wearable daytime look.

With only one main eyeshadow, it's all about the shape of the shadow and how it's blended on the top line. Check out how I put this look together below!

Hey everyone! Today I have another holiday-perfect manicure to share with you that has consistently been one of my favorites through the years. In my eyes, every woman should have a perfect sparkly red to wear during the festive season and this is my highest recommendation: China Glaze Ruby Pumps.

It's one of those classic polishes that every company tries to replicate, but Ruby Pumps is the original and does it best. Trust me, I've tried so many dupes that left me dissatisfied every time. If you are looking for a red that is truly flattering on everyone, definitely try this one out!

Hey guys! Today's look is a makeup tutorial that is actually quite similar to my last tutorial on Makeup for Glasses. I've been on a big monolid kick lately and have been getting more and more requests for more basic looks for those with single eyelids (aka eyelids without a crease) so I thought it would be perfect to show my favorite way to enhance monolids.

Those of you with monolids (no crease) or hooded lids (small crease that looks monolid when eyes are open) know how frustrating and tricky it can be to apply shadows, mascara, and liner to monolids since most of the "fun" part of makeup gets tucked underneath while this constant rubbing causes makeup to run.

This look allows a bit of fun with color while elongating the eyes to make them appear larger and more dramatic. It's also a rather smudge-proof look that is comparatively long-lasting. Check out the video below!

BUT, and this is a big but (and who doesn't like big butts?) it's what's on the inside that counts and when Urban Decay makes it count, boy do they make it count!

Hey everyone! Today's Manicure Monday is a perfect addition to the cool Fall weather and rich jewel tones that go with this season's trends. No, I'm not talking about another burgundy but instead I wanted to share a vibrant blue that I have really been loving on my nails. OPI DS Magic is from the "designer series" of OPI which tends to have unique shimmer and holographic finishes, and Magic definitely falls into that category.

As implied, the shades included in this collection are indeed feminine and great for colored-neutrals lovers out there. Let's take a look.

 

Hey guys! For today's manicure I wanted to share with you a polish that was a totally unexpected love for me. It all started a few weeks ago when I was preparing for my panel at Kcon. They had asked me to share a quick tutorial so I thought an ombre nail how-to would be fairly easy and informative. Unfortunately the tutorial was scrapped but fortunately for me, my ombre mani for the day started with this newly discovered Lioele Lavender polish.

I couldn't wait too long to apply it again, just so I could show you how awesome this shade is!

Hey lovelies! Today I'm very excited to share with you a tutorial that I've literally had on my to-do list for years. For some reason I just felt like the timing/concept wasn't right, but I guess that's why it's never a bad idea to wait for things to fall into place naturally. :)

The look, of course, is how to apply makeup with glasses. Sometimes glasses can be the shlumpy option that you wear as a last resort or when you want to cover up a no-makeup face, but in true "From Head To Toe" fashion I instead wanted to twist my look into something that's more everyday glamorous that you can feel very fresh, defined, and confident with.

Hey guys! Today's Manicure Monday post is dedicated to the newest polish in my collection, Revlon 250 Rich Raspberry. This is my first time trying out Revlon's new Colorstay line of nail varnishes and I was really looking forward to seeing how it would wear since I've heard so many positive reviews.

This particular shade is one that I haven't seen any reviews of and I was drawn to the creme finish with slightly purple undertones. I don't have any colors exactly like this in my collection, especially after the pre-move cosmetics purge of '12.

The color is gorgeous and classic and I definitely love it, but I honestly have mixed feelings about certain aspects of this polish.

Hey everyone! Today I wanted to share a few of my favorite products from October. I've been loving a new foundation and also discovered a really great combo of brushes that work really well for applying it. Also, who doesn't love Fall nail polishes? ;)

Today's tutorial is my rendition of the quintessential "sexy" animal costume. We've all seen the cute mouse or sexy cat roaming around each Halloween with their face makeup being no more than a black button nose and liquid eyeliner whiskers, right? This year I wanted to have something a little more out of the ordinary.

Some of you may remember my Lion Halloween Tutorial from a couple years ago. Because I had so much fun doing a feminized, semi-realistic animal before it made me want to try my hand again. I had this fox costume from my visit to Leg Avenue last year so I remixed the makeup to match the sly, exotic nature of the animal while retaining some of the realistic elements of shading and coloration of an actual red fox.

With the whole packing and moving process, a lot of my readily-available cosmetics and beauty products have been limited so I wanted to share some solid staples that have made it to the small makeup pouch that I've been living out of for the last few weeks!

Hey everyone! Today I wanted to share the $20 Makeup Challenge tag. The concept is simple since it's basically just as the title implies. You get 20 bucks to complete an entire makeup look from start to finish using products purchased with only $20 before taxes including all primers, base, color makeup, and tools like lash curlers or brushes.

Since I usually like to mix drugstore and department store makeup, it was definitely a challenge to use not only drugstore products, but the less expensive drugstore products to boot! Many people don't realize that even a drugstore foundation can cost $10-$15, plus I didn't want to skimp on a full-on look that I could leave the house in.

As those of you who follow me on Twitter may know, I attended a couple of really fun conventions in the last couple of weeks. First off was IMATS, the big makeup convention that I also went to last year. Unfortunately due to my filming schedule of Away We Happened, I wasn't able to visit during the public days but I did get to pop in for a couple short hours between call times on Friday. I of course picked up a few goodies that I wanted to share. :)

The next weekend, I was super excited to go to Anime Expo at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Trust me, I was in cosplay heaven and there were tons of people who went all out from wigs to makeup to impressively elaborate costumes. I'm super nerdy and a long-time fan of anime so it was very, very exciting! Definitely had to control myself so I wouldn't purchase every cute plushy or animatronic cat ears that I passed by. Again, lots of cute things to share!

Hi everyone! Episode 5 of Away We Happened is definitely more emotionally charged compared to the last few episodes. Sometimes in relationships, we can misread so many things that start small but turn into something much larger than we anticipated and this episode is a great example of that. Awkward circumstances, more awkward circumstances, then huge misunderstandings.

My favorite parts of this episode were both of Daniel's scenes with different characters because of how deliciously awkward it was. First, there is the elevator scene where he first runs into Jeremy. Sometimes it can be uncomfortable enough riding on an elevator with someone who seems to be in an impatient mood, but even more so when you have been in a funk yourself.


I have to say that this episode was the most challenging one so far just because it was really emotionally draining. As I've said before, this is my first real acting experience so it was a new thing for me to spend hours arguing with someone. Real or fake, it's amazing how much it can pull at your energy levels. I have a new-found respect for the actors and actresses who do this everyday.

We just got done filming the finale episode the last couple of days so it should be up sometime next week. Until then, I will leave you to answer the questions at the end of this week's episode:
