Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you are all having a warm and happy holiday with your family and friends. To help kick off the winter season, I wanted to share with you another lookbook video I created.
Winter in LA is interesting considering today it was 80 degrees which is a huge departure from the freezing "white" Christmases I'm used to back in Kansas, but you better believe I'm still enjoying playing with layers and bringing some life back into the gloomy, chill evenings. For these outfits, I tried to mix what I would wear in actual cold weather with things I'd wear in milder temperatures which you can warm up by adding wool stockings and a nice coat. ;) I hope you enjoy the video!
Hey everyone! It's the last Manicure Monday this year before Christmas and I wanted to make sure my nails were properly festive for the season. You may remember that I did a cute Snowman Nail Art tutorial last year, so I thought a slightly broader concept would be fun this time around. When Elleandish's Sweater Weather nails recently came up in my blog feed, I knew argyle nails would be the perfect answer!
Hey everyone! Today I wanted to share with you a makeup tutorial I've been loving lately using the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette (Review & Swatches). Although you could do this look anytime, pairing it with a red lip makes it a perfect rose gold twist on traditional glamorous holiday makeup. Can I use the cliché and say these are a few of my favorite things? Yeah, they totally are.
Check out how to get this look below!

Manicure Monday: Deborah Lippmann Boom Boom Pow & China Glaze Passion
Hey guys! Today I wanted to do another holiday-themed Manicure Monday and what better excuse to wear a bunch of gold glitter than this? We are just a few short days away from Christmas so I had to represent such a glitzy, iconic nail color. Here I used a combo of China Glaze Passion and Deborah Lippmann Boom Boom Pow to give it that extra sparkle.
Hey guys! I wanted to take a short break from the beauty world to bring you a video that is just for fun. I saw the 90's Kid Tag going around Youtube a few months back and seriously, it just made me so filled with nostalgia and happy kid-memories that I couldn't NOT do this one. Am I right? Therefore I grabbed my fellow 90's kid-in-crime, Phil of Wong Fu Productions (yes, the very same WFP who created Away We Happened last year) and recruited him to walk down memory lane with me.

Hello everyone! Today I have a super exciting video to share with you. There are a few people that I've come across in my makeup journey who have truly inspired me and I recently got to welcome one of them into my home recently. Yup, I said that right. Jerrod came over to my place. What? *cue squeals*
I won't give away too much, but suffice it to say that Too Faced Cosmetics founder Jerrod Blandino is not only one of the most charismatic people I've ever met but is incredibly passionate about makeup and making a positive difference in the lives of others, all while keeping a fantastic sense of humor!
PRODUCTS MENTIONED:
Too Faced Jingle All The Way (pink chevron)
Too Faced Jingle All The Way (mint & dots)
I was really surprised at how much I related to Jerrod personally, especially when it came to his thoughts on women and the steps it takes to achieving your dreams. What an inspiring man!
Jerrod, thank you so much to you and the Too Faced team for embracing me and all the women you help to make gorgeous. It's so nice to be able to connect beautiful words, thoughts, and ideas behind the beautiful products you create, and it was such an honor to have you over and speak so candidly about your past and passions. This definitely goes down in my books as an experience I will never forget! :)

Readers, what is your biggest styling regret from your past? Are you picking up anything from Too Faced's Holiday Collection? Let me know in the comments!
Now that we are full swing into the holiday season, I've been fully consumed with surrounding myself with Christmas songs and festive decorations. Since I carry my nails around with me at all times (who doesn't?) it only seemed appropriate to deck them out in the holiday spirit as well, and Deborah Lippmann Shake Your Money Maker was just the color to do it! Holographic tinsel and evergreen that literally leaps off your hands in the prettiest way! Ugh, I can't even take how pretty it is.
Let's check it out below.

Hey guys! One question that I get asked over and over is what I do to keep my teeth white. Obviously, doing a lot of videos means that I don't want to have a distracting smile, so I like to take good care of my teeth as well as occasionally use whitening products to ensure they are their brightest.
I'm not sure about you guys, but I've found that a lot of products tend to make my teeth especially sensitive so for a while I stayed away from what I tried before (Crest Whitestrips, in case anyone was wondering). The last few months I've gotten a whitening and tooth care routine down that I've been very happy with and that doesn't give me any issues with teeth sensitivity.
I've also included a list of food do's and don'ts for whitening teeth so check out my video & routine below!
Hey everyone! I felt like today's Manicure Monday was incredibly appropriate for it being the beginning of December since the shades in Zoya Jules remind me of sparkling Christmas lights and silver tinsel. This warm dove-grey shimmer just seems so holiday appropriate without screaming "bad Christmas sweater" which is muted and yet refreshing. Let's check it out below!
Hey everyone and happy December! It's now my favorite month of the year since it contains both my birthday (Dec 14th! Anyone have the same b-day as me?) and also Christmas. Is it just me, or was November especially fast? We had Thanksgiving dinner at our place with friends and family and ordered in Jack Stack Barbeque from Kansas City so it would taste like home. Add in a few more Thanksgiving favorites and Monsters University and we had a wonderful, cozy, and very thankful holiday. :)
Here's a photo I shared on Instagram of some of the delicious meal:
Can I speak for a minute about the Benefit Dallas boxed powder? I don't know if you remember my obsession with Tarte Exposed blush from last year but Dallas is Exposed's cousin which is so perfect for the Fall and Winter. For the last couple of years, it seems I've been drawn to these plummy-brown blushes that I would have never grabbed in the years before. Call me vain, but I just never looked at this sort of muddy shade because I was biased and didn't like how it looked in the box. Wow, I feel almost dirty typing that out loud.
Hi, I'm Jen and I'm a recovering blush racist. I prefer hot pinks not because they are most flattering on me, but because it looks pretty in the pan. I fully admit this, and I've amended my ways.
Dallas falls into that category of everyday, goes-with-everything cheek shades that does double duty of adding color to cheeks while acting as a cheek contour. You can totally skip the bronzer for a cooler alternative for a while. (Don't worry, I won't tell it that you're cheating on him.) It's also a color that isn't so sheer you have to layer it on, and it's not so dark you have to be super careful while applying it. I definitely see this being my #1 top Winter love.

Hey everyone! If you are in the US, Happy Thanksgiving to you and I hope you are all surrounded by blessings and remembering the things you are thankful for. It's one of my favorite times of the year because it's a holiday that isn't focused soley on some gimmick, but it's a chance to give thanks to all those who make up what we are and who we are today. For me that means God, my family, friends, and loved ones. :)

Hey guys! Today I wanted to do a travel-related post since you know I am frequently flying here and there for work. Before every trip I take I scour the internet to find a good list to remind myself of what I should pack, but it can be tricky to find a good one. That's why I decided to write my own handy guide which may hopefully be helpful for your next 1-week trip too. :)
Oreo says, "pack me too!"
The first thing to consider is luggage. Will you be using checked luggage or a simple carry-on? Carry-on luggage size requirements can vary per airline so be sure to check beforehand so your luggage will fit. My luggage here is from Tokidoki but I recommend something with 4 wheels and zip compartments inside.
I personally find packing cubes to be so helpful in neatly organizing my clothes and keeping items from getting lost so if you've never used them, I highly recommend buying a pack in various sizes! TIP: Roll your clothes to keep wrinkles away and save on space.
There have been cuter packing cube options that have come out lately and I've found that having a variety of sizes and designs really helps to keep things organized. Here are a few options that I've been loving:
Once we have our luggage and cubes ready, we can start to pack for our 1-week trip!
----------
Lets start with clothes:
- 8 shirts (4 tanks, 4 tops)
- 1 cardigan
- 1 hoodie
- 2 pants
- 1 pair of shorts or skirt
- 1 dress (if applicable)
- socks (take the # of days you'll likely wear socks and add +1)
- undies (take the # of days of your trip and add +1)
- bras (2 everyday bras, 1 strapless if applicable)
- pajamas
- 1-3 outerwear (1 jacket, 1 blazer, 1 heavier coat if applicable)
Hey guys! I'm sure a few of you are wondering with this new Urban Decay Naked 3 palette release if it's a worthwhile purchase. As this is their third in the Naked series, I feel like it's pretty important to see how this one compares to the previously released Naked and Naked 2 palettes.
Right off the bat you can see that the Naked 3 has an overall rose gold theme with 12 eyeshadows in a gorgeous, wave-textured tin case.
Hello everyone! Today I wanted to share the much anticipated review of the brand new Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette. Unless you've been living under a rock, you probably already know that the Naked line is not just Urban Decay's strongest offering, but it's a concept that has been duped by nearly every major makeup company out there so it's nice to see UD expanding it to fit a wider variety of preferences and skintones.
The packaging is quite similar to Naked 2 which is very sturdy and snaps shut. Inside the case are 12 all brand-new eyeshadows and a well for the shadow brush as well as a large mirror.
Happy Manicure Monday everyone! Today I have a very classic color that I am quite smitten with: Lady Is A Tramp from Deborah Lippmann. Just like the perfect red lipstick, I believe there is a "perfect red" nail polish out there for everyone. You know, the one that makes hands look beautiful, sexy, elegant, and ladylike in a way that trendy shades just can't match. Having seen this on my friend Wendy and knowing we had a similar skintone, I had high hopes that this would be my perfect red too.
More info as well as Deborah Lippmann's Gel Lab Base & Top Coat after the jump!
Hey guys! Today I just wanted to do a really quick post sharing a fun video I recently filmed with my friend Amy Okuda whom you may recognize from the Wong Fu webseries I was in last year, Away We Happened.
We thought it would be a brilliant idea to tape our hands together and film ourselves putting on makeup because when you set the bar that low, even failure is a win. ;)
Lately, my mind has been marinating on the upcoming holidays. One of my favorite things about American Thanksgiving dinners is eating turkey with cranberry sauce which is exactly what today's Manicure Monday reminds me of. OPI's The One That Got Away is a gorgeous glass-flecked polish from the Katy Perry collection and stunningly Fall-appropriate color. Let's check it out below.
Hey everyone. Today I wanted to share a highly-requested topic: My Skincare Routine!
Your skin is the largest and one of the most important organs on your body so it only makes sense to take care of it just like you would exercise your muscles and eat well to promote better function of your insides. I don't have perfect skin, but one thing I've learned is that taking care of your skin today can help reduce chances of scarring or blemishes tomorrow.
Here's my current skincare regimen and how I modify it to target a variety of different skin issues.
Hey guys! Now that Halloween is over stores are gearing up for the holidays and you know what that means: SALES! Whoohoo!
I wanted to give you a little update and a few recommendations if you are interested in checking out the upcoming Sephora Friends & Family sale beginning tomorrow or Nordstrom's Anniversary sale for Women & Kids which started today.
Lets start with my favorite makeup store: Sephora. The VIB Friends & Family sale is their big annual pre-holiday shebang where they offer 20% off your entire order using code VIBTOPIA and goes from November 7 - 11. Purchases over $50 receive free 3-day shipping. (Note: you must be a Sephora VIB for this code to work)
Here's a list of some of my current obsessions and long-time favorites:
Next I wanted to share some of my picks from Nordstrom. Their Half-Yearly Sale for women & kids is going on starting today, November 6th. Prices are already marked down and the website has free shipping and return shipping all the time.
I don't know about you but I'm a shoe girl and a couple of my best shoe friends were just marked down, including a super cute pair I recently wore in my Fall Lookbook video. Lately, my fashion obsessions are soft, girly knits perfect for snuggling in the cooler weather. :)
Readers, will you be checking out the Nordies or Sephora sales? What's on your holiday wishlist? Let me know in the comments below!

Hey everyone! Today's Manicure Monday is a polish that is one of my favorites of all time: Essie Mint Candy Apple. You remember back when the minty green-blue polish trend first started a few years ago? To me, Mint Candy Apple was the ultimate pastel mint creme polish on the market. I have tried what seems like a million mints, but even now this one is my favorite and I'll show you why below.
Hey everyone! Today I wanted to share a few pics from a Clinique event I recently attended. For the very first time, New York-based Clinique held a party on the West Coast in glitzy Hollywood to share their current lineup of products, from color cosmetics to skincare to their men's care offerings (which my husband happens to big a big fan of). I was super excited to see what must-haves and new cravings I would find for Fall here!
The first product that you guys probably know I love and was immediately drawn to were the iconic Chubby Sticks. They are hydrating, colorful, and the easy pencil shape makes them exceedingly purse-poppable as well. Love, love, love!
Hey guys! This month has been pretty intense (as Halloween season always is for me) so a lot of my favorites this month have been products that have been my go-to's when I don't have time to think about what to apply for makeup. That's not to say that the new items aren't spectacular! On the contrary, included are a few products which may be my future holy grail, omg-can't-live-without-it products. Check out my loves below.
Today's Mani Monday is a Halloween nail art look that I've always wanted to do: Candy Corn! I've honestly never been a fan of eating candy corn but I love their iconic shape and color. Since I've grown out and filed my nails to a more pointed shape, I thought it would be the perfect look to spend the last few days before Halloween.
Hey everyone! I don't know about you but there's something about Fall that brings out the fashion tinglies in me. I love the crisp weather, the layers, and autumn colors. I've had fashion on my mind a lot lately so I thought it would be the perfect season to debut my first lookbook. Hope you enjoy it!

When I think of vampires, a few words come to mind such as dangerous, seductive, pale, bloodthirsty, and beautiful. For today's Halloween tutorial I tried to keep all those elements in mind for this sexy vampire makeup. While you may not actually be dangerous (raises hand), pale (not me again), or bloodthirsty (unless it's kool-aid) you can still look like the beautiful undead to go with your costume this year.
Check out the tutorial below!
Hey guys! Today I have another Halloween tutorial to share with you. I wanted to do a look this year that could be created versus store-bought since a lot of us think of costumes at the last minute and don't want to be the same thing as everyone else. You guys know I love doing cute and realistic versions of animal makeup so I thought it would be super fun to make-up like Bambi put my "buck" on a deer tutorial. (Oh lawdy, the puns!)
In case you are looking for a DIY costume, here is my interpretation of deer makeup. Check out the video & more pics below.
Today's Mani Monday is another Deborah Lippmann glitter polish from my recent Gilt haul I mentioned in my Ruby Red Slippers post. This offering is the mesmerizing Across The Universe which is described as "blazing blue and metallic green glam in sheerest navy". Wow. What an absolute stunner.
Hey everyone! So I was recently browsing my blog feed (are you following mine on Blogvin' yet?) and came across the ever-sweet Emily from Beauty Broadcast who posted a blog tag called the "Procrastinating Beauty Blogger Tag". Hmm... Procrasting? Me? OF COURSE! ;)
I thought it would be fun to share my answers and definitely would love to see yours too! Lets kick things off with a photo of me applying makeup while sitting in a pile of makeup. Typical. Clean that pile up, lady!

Hey everyone! As you can see, today's Halloween tutorial is what I consider to be epic and frightening - both words I associate with my current favorite anime Attack on Titan. There is a character seen in the first episode of the series that looks like a muscle skeleton which I thought would be perfect for Halloween this year. Tutorial and more pics below!
Hey everyone! Today I wanted to share a polish with you that is my current OBSESSION. Seriously, just stop. Can you see the gorgeous layers of red glitter and glassy black? There is something so perfectly vampy about it which makes Ruby Red Slippers from Deborah Lippmann perfect for the Halloween season. More eye candy below!
Hey everyone! It's been such a long time since I've done a hair tutorial so I thought I'd share with you a modified french braid that I discovered while playing around with my hair. From Youtube video comments, I've learned that its proper name is the "dutch lace braid" but I call it a floating french braid since the braid ends up looking like it's gracefully hanging by ladder strands from the hair part. It adds a whimsical twist to an everyday school or work look. Take a look at the tutorial below!
Hey everyone! Today I wanted to share a few swatches of an eyeshadow palette that recently came out by Sigma Beauty, the Creme de Couture palette. The first thing I did when I opened this up was squeal at how cute it was! The macaron-inspired theme really shines through both in packaging and in the included eyeshadow shades.
Here are 16 bright-pastel mattes in candy-colored shades ranging from baby pink to deep eggplant to grass green. Each shadow corresponds to a sweet macaron flavor such as "blueberry cream" or "ginger pumpkin". I don't have any all-matte pastels like this in my collection so I was really excited to see if the pigmentation and performance was as nice as the initial presentation.
Hey everyone! Today's Mani Monday is a color that I've actually had for a few years but recently found a new love for: ORLY Golden Maharaja. As I was sifting through my nail collection to pull out Fall-appropriate shades, this one screamed warm chili-chocolate to me. You know, the rich Venezuelan kind with a pinch of cayenne pepper to make the perfect balance of heat and sweetness? Such a wonderful Fall fireside treat and nail color!
Hey everyone! Today I wanted to share a pair of shoes that I'm currently obsessed with at the moment. These black lace-up heels can add an edgy element to even a simple outfit and I'm a big fan of mixing edgy and girly pieces.
I first saw sandals like these on Wendy which were designed by Schutz. Unfortunately, my Cinderella feet are too small to fit the smallest size available so I commissioned my favorite petite shoe-makers at JGShoe.com to create a similar pair for me and I am totally in love.
Here are a few similar options:
If you follow me on Instagram, you may have already seen them from this casual outfit. I also wore them with my Yumi Kim romper in my New Media Rockstars photoshoot. Not kidding, these sandals are so easy to pair I was surprised!
As you guys may know, I am quite petite and have difficulty finding shoes in styles I like at my size which is just a touch below a women's US size 4. Considering most shoes start in at least a size 5 or 6, it goes without saying that the selection at size 4 is often sparse and expensive. Pumps in a size 4 slip off my heels entirely so I began searching online for a petite-specific shoemaker and stumbled upon JG Shoe.
Hey guys! It's time for this month's favorite products recap and if you've been following the blog this month, you may see some familiar faces. I don't make any qualms about saying that when I love something new, I loooove it so obviously it's gonna make it into my favs. ;)
This month we have a bit of everything from a concealer to a beautifully fragranced bath oil to a favorite new sunscreen. Let's check it out below!
Hey everyone! Today's Mani Monday consists of a color that my sister grabbed from my nail polish drawer when she came over recently. For some reason, bluish teals aren't what I naturally gravitate toward but as soon as she applied it I knew I had to try it out too. Teal The Cows Come Home is punnily named and gives a gorgeous, bright pop of aquamarine shimmer to the nails. Lets check it out b below!
