Hi everyone! Today I want to let you guys know about a very special charity auction that swatch queen KarlaSugar asked me to be a part of. Many well-known bloggers and companies have donated beauty products to help raise donations for women in need around the world. Of course, I was super excited to contribute! As a makeup addict and blogger, I've been blessed with a lot of cosmetics that are much more than I can use myself so it makes me feel really humbled that something as silly as donating makeup can hopefully really make a difference in other womens' lives.
My personal contribution is a brand new Rock & Republic Contrived Pressed Blush in Call Me (click here for my swatches and review). You guys know this is the most coveted R&R blush, plus it's a discontinued shade so it's very hard to come by! It's my absolute favorite HG blush of all time and I bought an extra as a backup but honestly, the money will do someone else much more good than the blush can as a backup in my drawer. ;)
BeautyBloggers.org is the collaboration of almost 50 different beauty bloggers and brands. In the spirit of the holidays, we wanted to make a meaningful contribution to charity — knowing that the most effective donation to any charity is cash.
So we’re putting our makeup on the auction block (all items are new unless otherwise described). Winning bids will be donated directly to Doctors Without Borders. Bidders anywhere in the world are welcome, and shipping is “free.” That is, the full amount of your winning bid will go to charity — the bloggers have agreed to donate the cost of shipping, in addition to the items themselves.
We’re raising money for Doctors Without Borders because women are always disproportionately affected in any disaster. This organization is committed to bringing quality medical care to people in crisis, regardless of race, religion, or political affiliation. They treat rape victims in Papua New Guinea; they make sure women don’t die in childbirth in Pakistan; they helped flood victims in Mexico and earthquake victims in Haiti. They work in 65 countries around the world, and your donation will make an immediate impact. Click here to learn more about MSF.
We’ll be collecting payment through a secure page set up with Doctors Without Borders. They accept credit cards. International auction winners may have to use Paypal.
You can bid now through Monday, December 20 — this year’s auction ends at 5 pm CST.
I hope you guys can find some awesome products (not kidding, there are some incredddddiiible things up for auction) for yourselves or loved ones and promote a really selfless cause as well. ^_^
