Travel Diary | THE BAHAMAS
9:37 PM
Hey guys! I recently went on a trip to the Bahamas for the first time ever and had an absolutely incredible experience enjoying the sun, swimming with seriously serious sharks, and checking out the launch of Benefit's new colorful Push-Up Liners and They're Real mascaras. I was literally still reeling from the experience as I was going through photos of our trip, so I knew I had to share some of them here on the blog. :)
I vlogged my way through the tropical extended weekend:
And of course found my way to the insane, clear-as-my-bath water. Hey ocean! How you do dat?
Here's a glimpse of the sunset view outside our balcony.
Benefit flash tattoo! By the way, many of you were asking on Instagram where this swimsuit is from and it's actually Victoria's Secret! The pull-on style is super comfy like a sports bra and I adore the green garden jungle print.
There was a beautiful lily pad and koi fish pond at the entrance of the hotel. You can see raindrops since it was stormy for most of the weekend (although that didn't keep some of us from enjoying the waterpark! Bahamas don't come around everyday, am I right?)
And of course, DUN-DUN-DUN!!! Giant monsters slithering through the water...
You guessed it. The very fearsome me and hubby.
...Just kidding! We really did swim with sharks! Technically, we "walked" with the sharks since we had these nifty scuba helmets on so we could breathe underwater. Our faces remained dry and bodies unbitten.
What an incredible front-row view of one of nature's most frightening and fascinating creatures! In the video you can see the two types of sharks. These reef shark bad boys look like smaller great whites to my untrained eyes of course and were constantly moving while the nurse sharks tended to sit around acting sleepy since they are the only sharks who can breathe without moving.
As I mentioned, the whole trip was to hype the release of Benefit's new colored liners and mascaras which officially release June 26th. Let me know if you want to see a full review but I can say for certain that I'm a little more than obsessed with the blue mascara. In the sun it's like BAM!
Hope you guys enjoyed these photos and the vlog! If you've gone anywhere for vacation this year, I'd love to hear about it in the comments about what must-do things you recommend. My travel bug is going full-steam and I can't wait to plan my next adventure.

Hi Cat! The vlogging camera I used was the Sony RX100 Mark III. It's nice cause it has the flip up screen so you can see yourself! :)

Hi Jen! I really enjoyed your travel diary! It also gave me an idea love a video or a blog post about tips for vacation makeup--specifically, how to get it all to STAY ON and not melt down like yours here in hot/humid/wet/beachy conditions? And what did you use? Did you find a different lash glue that can work for you?
ReplyDeleteHi Jen,
