Just wanted to post up a few awards I've received lately. Can I just say that I get pretty baffled every time I get one? I'm very much honored and flattered that anyone would think of my blog. :)

First off, from Sparkled Beauty is the Lemonade Stand Award.


Aww, look how cute it is! I think this one is just about spreading around the blogging love. :D

I also got the Kreativ Blogger award from Candace Chin and comes with a stipulation... info on the recipient!



To receive this award I'm required to write 8 things about myself:
1. I looooooove dancing, especially club-style latin like salsa, cumbia, bachata, etc.
2. I graduated with a 5-year degree in Industrial Design, which is product design.
3. My degree's emphasis was in Psychology and I am absolutely fascinated with how people think and act.
4. I am addicted to listening to Loveline with Dr. Drew on podcast.
5. I have a very crooked pinkie, since birth. Youtubers probably already caught onto that. ;)
6. The freckle on my lip randomly appeared my junior year of high school. I thought it was toasted seaweed (gim), but I couldn't scratch it off!
7. I am currently reading the Scott Pilgrim vs. the World graphic novels. Totally hilarious and can't wait for the movie to come out starring Michael Cera!

My personality traits:
1. Geniune - With me, what you see is what you get. I hate mind games and I just try to be down-to-earth and real.
2. Organized and cluttered - I have very organized piles! I swear!
3. Nom nom - I eat often and I love food. Gotta keep those blood sugar levels regular, right?
4. Delicate flavors - Speaking of food, I'm not a big sweets person. I like delicate flavors and will eat the cake but scrape allllll the frosting off.
5. Nerdy - Back in the day I took lots of honors classes and graduated high school with a 4.0 (4.5 with weighted classes). WHAT HAPPENED TO ME SINCE?? ;)
6. Affectionate - I love hugs, kisses, having good friends, and being physically close to people I care about.
7. Gonna pull that nerdy card again and just say that my Jung/Meyers-Briggs personality type (yay for social psych) is ENFP or Extraverted Intuitive Feeling Perceiving. This has always been my personality type no matter what questions are asked, however many times I take the test, what format it's in, every single time. It fits me to a T.

I feel totally awful for not tagging anyone specifically, but I lost all of my bookmarks when I reformatted my computer so I just don't think it would be fair. :/ So instead, I would like to call upon my lovely blog readers to give me your top 3 favorite blogs. Maybe I can replenish my blog list. :)

Just wanted to share a couple of pics of some Del Sol polishes I ordered. For those of you who haven't heard of them, Del Sol polishes actually change color in sunlight. Pretty cool idea, and has the potential for mega awesomeness.

Here are the polishes indoors:
*heartbreaker - red to purple with glitter
*surfer girl - pink to pale orange frost
*ruby slipper - silver glitter to red
*vanity - pale pink to lavendar pearl
*rock star - blue glitter to deep green glitter


And outside in direct sunlight:



Obviously, some polishes "work" better than others. Vanity is pretty awesome (although I bought it for a friend, so it's not even mine!) and Ruby Slipper works quite well on the nail. I was the most disappointed with Rock Star because I was looking forward to it a lot and it doesn't appear to have changed at all. I haven't actually tried this on my nails though, so it might just be stubborn in the bottle.

Speaking of rock star, I wanted to also share a funny little fashion transition I had one morning.

I recently bought this beautiful belt from Urban Outfitters because I found that it actually fit my petite waist. Waist belts never seem to fit me (although I can find a plethora of regular-hip-fitting belts, now that I never wear them) so I grabbed it while I could.


I really wanted to wear it with a new floral skirt I bought from Wet Seal with one of my Forever 21 oversized t-shirts, and came up with this pretty, girly combo. Then, as what happens many mornings, I decided my shoes were too uncomfortable and kicked them off.


And I replaced them with my Frye Harness Pull-On boots. MUCH more comfy, but wait, something is missing...


Oh yes, oh yes. My moto jacket. I think it completes a nice balance to the girly skirt and belt. Much more of a reflection of how I was feeling that day.



Don't get me wrong. I love my girly-girl looks but I just wasn't FEELING it that day. I just can't leave the house feeling out of whack with my outfit. It feels WRONG sometimes, you know? (Or maybe you don't know and it's just me being quirky. In that case, YOU LIAR!! At least this is what I will keep telling myself.)

SURELY I AM NOT ALONE IN THIS!!!

If I am, please tell me your own fashion quirks so I don't have to hug myself to feel normal again.

I wanted to share with you guys a cool site I came across that sells nice cosmetics products on the cheap, beautyticket.com. It seems they get discontinued and limited edition makeup from companies like Smashbox, YSL, and Too Faced and sell it waaaaaaay below retail price which is totally awesome for ladies (such as myself) who love a good deal. Who doesn't in this economy, right?

I actually ordered a couple months ago so unfortunately most of the items I have here are no longer for sale but I thought I would still share what I got in case you wanted to snag it on eBay. It also seems there is ALWAYS something new I want on Beauty Ticket. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing!

Anyway, gotta say I am super happy with my purchases. Highly recommend this site and the products they carry! On with the pics!

My haul


Smashbox blush from the wicked lovely collection. LOVE the packaging. Color is a burnt dusty-rose. A little more brown than I'd usually wear, but I'll probably use it a lot more come fall. The flip-out mirror is a nice touch.


This Smashbox tinted lip treatment lipstick is a cool idea-lipstick and balm in one. The color goes a bit Barbie pink on me, but the balm part makes it sheerer and more wearable. It feels nice. Not crazy moisturizing, but not drying either.


These are my favorites of my haul, the two glosses. Absolutely in love with both colors. Cactus flower is a purse staple gloss, perfect for any look and any occasion. My new favorite everyday MLBB (my lips but better) gloss. Dragonfruit is actually another purse staple that is SO COOL and unique. It's like a pale nude that flashes red in sunlight. From far away it simply looks like a pale pink gloss with oomph.


Hand swatches in direct and indirect sunlight. See the ridiculous amount of awesomeness Dragonfruit has? So sad it's discontinued but so glad I grabbed one! The Charm blush has a nice glint to it also.
