Nordstrom Anniversary SALE: My Haul & Recommedations

5:21 PM

Hey everyone! There's a buzz in the air and that buzz is people talking about the Nordstrom (or as I like to call it "Nordies") Anniversary Sale which is happening right now until August 4th. What I love about this sale versus others is that it's a preview sale which means the items will be going back up to full price afterwards. No last-season leftovers here!

I did a massive haul of makeup, clothes, and of course shoes so I wanted to share with you what I picked up as well as a few of my top recommendations.

PRODUCTS MENTIONED:

Sweater | Geo Pattern Hooded Cardigan
Boyfriend Jeans | 7 For All Mankind Josefina Distressed Rollcuff Jeans
Moto Leggings | BP High Waist Seamed Moto Leggings

Facial Sunscreen | Clarins UV Plus HP Sunscreen Duo
Eyeshadow Palette | Lorac Skinny Palette

Black Booties | BP Train Wrap Belted Bootie
Leopard Pumps | Halogen 'Marlie' Pointed Toe Pump
Grey Leopard Nikes | Nike Free TR Connect 2 Training Shoe
Over-The-Knee Boots | Stuart Weitzman 'Highway' Boot

You may have heard me lamenting about having small size womens 4 feet but Nordstrom has always been my salvation since they are one of the very few places that carry extended sizes in stores. The first thing I did when the sale hit was to scour the shoe section for a few worthwhile splurges.

--------

Let's start off with the crown jewel of my purchases: those Stuart Weitzman over-the-knee boots. I have been searching high and low for years for a nicely heeled OTK boot that is fitted at the calf, which is an especially difficult task with my little chicken legs. I saw previews of these boots before the sale happened but the catalog said they started in size 5 so when I beheld a size 4 I almost shed a tear and frantically added it to my cart.

All I can say is oh my. They are as close to perfection as I've ever, ever found in a basic black boot and I know I'll be wearing the toots out of them come fall. Definitely worth the purchase, plus I feel justified knowing they are over $200 off the retail price. *happy dance*

To my little leopard beauties to the left, I adore you. The Nikes at the top are my first sneakers that I actually think look cute on my feet and are so lightweight I want to immediately take them for a run.

The pointed-toe leopard pumps below are elegant and actually mid-heeled and cushioned enough to be comfortable. Unfortunately my narrow feet slipped forward to much so it's a return for me but I wanted to show them here since I know most of you don't have my end-of-the-size-spectrum problem.

Moving on to makeup, the LORAC Skinny Palette is amaaaaaazing. It looks like it was so popular that it sold out already but at $15 this is by far the best deal of the entire sale. I'm crossing my fingers that they bring it back in stock because I've already been using it daily and it's definitely my current go-to with high quality shadows just like their Pro Palette.

Since there's only a few days left of the sale, I wanted to share a few of my top recommendations below:

Readers, have you picked up anything from the sale? What's on your to-buy list for this fall? Let me know in the comments!

  1. Ah, the Palma Suede Sandal in your top recommendations, I just recently purchased a very similar pair for a very reasonable price on ShoeMint.com. They're called Jillian, they're more of a blush nude rather than a beige nude, but very pretty! Really loved this haul Jen! I took advantage of the Nordstrom sale too! ^_^

    1. I adore strappy sandals like that! Nice pick. Blush nude is one of my favorite shoe colors since it makes legs look so long. :)

  2. I'm so glad you were able to find shoes in your size! Those OTK boots are too diiiiiiie for~ I know the joys of finally finding your size in a style that you really want. I'm sad I won't be able to participate in the sale this time, but I'll be sure to catch the next one ♥

    1. I'm finding as I get older, patience is a virtue when it comes to sartorial "bucket list" items. Maybe it's not perfect this year but you may find it next year. I just have to not give in to imperfect dupes that I will eventually replace. It's tough cause I'm always searching for a good deal! ;)

  3. Loved the video! I want those Rebecca Minkoff bags so bad! And especially the NARS palette. I went to a NARS boutique while I was in Vegas and I didn't see that palette there, but if I did I definitely would have picked it up for myself

    1. Ooh, which one? The zipper one or mini MAC? I've had my eye on both for years! And I think the NARS palette may be a Nordies exclusive which is why you didn't see it in Vegas. ;)

  6. Such great picks! You definitely went for the statement-makers...love those leopard Nikes. I feel so boring...I always use the Sale for stocking up on basics that aren't on sale any other time of the year. Is that just me? :)

    1. Not just you! It's always important to pick up workhorse items like basics. :) I figure leopard works as a neutral with extra flair (grey nikes will go with any workout outfit of any color) and leopard pumps work with any color scheme since they are neutral. You should definitely try on a pair! They are surprisingly easy to wear. ^_^

  7. THOSE NIKE SHOES! I want a pair of those so badly but I cringe every time I look at the price. Lucky you guys have Nordstrom. I'm looking forward to one opening up in my hometown!

  8. Dang those boots were pricey still after sale! But I bet it's hard for you to find those kind of shoes in your size, but they do look amazing on you!! Everything that you hauled looked great! I really enjoyed watching your video!
