Summer Fragrance

11:15 PM

I know for many of you it isn't summer right now but where I'm living, it has been in the upper 90's fahrenheit all week! One way for me to better adjust to the stifling heat and humidity is to wear a fragrance accordingly.

I almost always prefer a lighter scent year round, but Spring and Summer really gives the opportunity to try something especially sweet or fruity. My current pick is Paris Hilton. I have to say, I was VERY hesitant to try this just because of the name. Is it just me or do most celebrity-promoted fragrances stink? Anyway, after smelling this in the store I was happily impressed.

This is what Sephora.com had to say about it:
Paris Hilton
The sparkling signature of this scent personifies its creator. Chic enough to be worn to the hottest clubs, it also possesses a feminine, flirtatious charm. And for those who want to leave nothing to chance, a "secret" ingredient has been blended into this magic potion - one that's guaranteed to enhance the wearer's allure.

Notes:
Frozen Apple, Peach Nectar, Wet Ozone, Sparkling Muguet, Freesia, Mimosa, Jasmine, Tuberose, Skin Musk, Sandalwood, Ylang Ylang, Oakmoss, Pheromone.

Style:
Chic. Sexy. Mysterious.

Well, I can't say that the scent is particularly "mysterious" but it is definitely flirty. Apparently it has pheromones in it which supposedly draws the onlookers in like woah! I really enjoy the apple and peach notes and when the fruity top notes fade, it does get a bit sexier-smelling. Not bad for switching up with my Clinique Happy/Happy To Be/Happy Heart and Bath and Body Works Pearberry body spray!

A few more fragrances on my love-to-get list are:

Daisy by Marc Jacobs
Ralph Lauren Blue
Ja'dore Dior

Let me know what your scent of the moment is too and what it smells like! Maybe we can all be smelling delicious by the end of the summer. :)

  1. Hey Jen and other posters! Here is a great site to see what people think about all these fragrances: www.perfumeemporium.com

I've tried high end perfumes and cheapy drug store perfumes before as well. I would say that none compares to the stuff I find from bath and body works strangely enough. Well, at the moment anyway lol My favorite would have to be Japanese Cherry Blossom. It kinda reminded me of something my mother would wear at first lol (I bought it for her for Christmas and she loved it lol) but it's got the punch that really helps rejuvenatesme.

  2. Lili: You know what, I actually LOVE the Bath and Body Works Cherry Blossom perfume. It mixes with my skin really well and I smell great at the end of the day when I use the lotion! I'll have to get that soon!

  3. Jen, definitely get it off ebay since they are still pricey. I think I bought the perfume for about $12? brand new. I actually prefer the body spray a bit more than the perfume. I even spray some on after my shower/before bed lol Stupid I know but it makes me feel clean and fresh, and puts me in a good mood lol The scent is nice and light. Love it!

It's weird because they label all these things (hand soap/cream/lotion/sprays etc.) as "Japanese Cherry Blossom" but they all smell slightly different.

  4. I love Marc Jacobs Daisy, which was a Christmas gift from my bf. It's a light floral that picks up my mood instantly. Which is so necessary right before I head to class.

  6. I read on a site that the Paris Hilton perfume smells like Ralph by Ralph Lauren which I own and don't like very much. Is this true?

  7. its so random how I ended up on your blog, but thank goodness I did. You are beautiful and I absolutely love your makeup skills.

As for my fragrance of the moment it is Kenzo Flower, I wear it to work everyday and my coworkers love it.

  10. Yeah I hardly use heated hair tools in generals since I just usually brush my hair and air dry it out (to avoid damaging my hair and because I am lazy in the mornings!), and I do agree that all of them damage your hair to some extent, but when you are going from Revlon to something that really works, it's quite drastic and you can definitely see a notable difference. At least with the H2Pro it wasn't sucking the moisture out of my hair, it was still leaving some in I couldn't rave about it enough! Even Anne (yummibitez.com) loved it and she used mine when we went to Vegas. (Aren't most product reviews like an ad anyway?! ;))

  11. I work in fragrance so work with it all the time, but my absolute favourite at the moment is Chloe! It is a beautiful soft powdery floral that is not too powdery but still very feminine romantic and soft. I love the notes of lychee that works so well with the rose heart! Today I came across Jo Malone perfumes as well which surprisingly have an amazing staying power and smell absolutely amazing! I tried rose and orange blossom today, layered (I love my florals)... I can still smell it on now even after 12hrs which is amazing as it is a cologne (lighter than a toilette)
