TAG: Confessions of a Shoeaholic
4:11 PMOut of all the clothes I have, some of my most adored fashion items are shoes. I'm the type to always notice details and I really believe that what a person chooses to wear on their feet says a lot about them in general. Does anyone remember that scene in Legally Blonde where Elle spots the missing clue to the trial by commenting on the pool boy's shoes? Genius!
(her purple pumps inspired me to get a pair too!)
When I saw this shoe tag going around Youtube a couple of months ago, I had a lot of fun being nosy about seeing what others wore on their feet so I thought I'd share some of my favorite shoes with you today too.
QUESTIONS:
1. Heels or Flats?
2. What are your go-to shoes?
3. What's your favorite shoe trend at the moment?
4. What's your least favavorite shoe trend?
5. What's your most expensive shoe?
6. What are your most wanted pair?
7. What's your most embarrassing shoe story?
8. Pick a shoe and share a story.
9. How many pairs of shoes do you own?
10. When was the first time you wore heels?
11. How much do you spend on shoes?
12. Where are your favorite places to buy shoes?
13. Do you have a pair of shoes you regret purchasing?
14. Show your favorite pair of shoes.
SHOES MENTIONED:
Emu sheepskin boots (Uggs/Bearpaw)
Purple suede & hot pink pumps (similar/similar/similar)
Stuart Weitzman Wedgelin boots (similar/similar/similar)
Cherokee woven wedges from Target (similar/similar/similar)
Sam Edelman Wilma booties (also in leopard and chocolate)
ON ME:
J.Crew cardigan
Ann Taylor chambray shirt (similar/similar)
Amrita Singh necklace (similar)
Nailpolish is OPI gel polish in Princess Rule!
I hope you guys enjoyed the video and let me know in the comments if you decide to do the tag as well! I'd also love to know 1. Heels or flats? 2. How many pairs? 3. What are your favorite pair? You know those are the best questions in the whole tag!
P.S. If you are curious about how the pink shoes can play into an outfit, no worries. I already have my next post planned with an outfit featuring them. ;)

Love SHOES

Love this! I thought it was awful to have avarage size shoes, because stores always seems to run out, but having small feet sounds worse!
ReplyDeleteMaterial Fixations
I'm a size 4.5 and I have a similar budget to yours. I'm so embarassed about browsing the kids section but they fit and it's cheap! I am also getting up the courage to spend more on quality adult shoes. Thanks so much for this video.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I buy kids shoes too! My feet size is 3 and it's hard to find the heels which fit me.
ReplyDeleteThinking about ordering a small size heel myself. Which heels do you like better? The eleganza heel from "Pretty Small Shoe" or the suede heal from the korean website. Also which heels do you this is more comfortable and versatile. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteThe reason I got the suede ones from the Korean site is because they make the exact same shoes as PSS but cheaper. I think they must use the same manufacturer? So in terms of quality and comfort they are the same and you can buy both styles from both websites. Personally, I think the style of the pink pump is more classic and I have it in both nude and pink. :)
DeleteI want to make sure I am getting the right heels ordered, so can you list the name of the pink and purple shoes. On the jgshoe website, their is one called "gorgeous 8 color basic high heel pumps". It has a hot pink color and the one that looks nude is called baby pink. Is this there same one you got? It didn't have the 7 inch heel though. Also is the suede one called "simple suede platform pumps"?
DeleteI also want to ask you about the size. I normally wear a size 5, but when I measured my foot, it is a 220mm which according to the size chart is equal to a 4. Do you think that's correct?
what is the name of the korean website that you got your heels at?
ReplyDeleteThey are from jgshoe.com :)
DeleteI have a question jen, is jgshoe a reliable website? I just ordered shoes from them and I havent recieved a tracking like i asked for and it will be a month in a week since i ordered them. Now when I go on the website there is nothing there except an error code. I hope you can shed some light that you actually have had recieved items for them, because personally I am a little freaked out since I do not even have a contact number.
Deleteoh my :( i JUST ordered a pair from jgshoe...i hope that doesn't happen
DeleteSo, what happened with your shoes? Did you get them? I'm planning on visiting the US in a couple of months and i wanted to order them in advance... what should i do??
DeleteI LOVE colorful shoes...they make me feel so flirty!

oo i love the purple heels! so prettty!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe Ugly Moments
God, I love shoes as well *.* sometimes, I lust after ones that I can't incorporate into my wardrobe, but I want it anyways >.<
ReplyDeleteI used to be a flats girl, but now I'm totally for pumps, wedges, and heels, especially Mary Jane-like shoes :)) So I'd say I am now all for heels!!
Also pastel colored shoes, I just hoard those like crazy!
omg omg . me love all the shoes, specially pink one. !!
ReplyDeletelove your shoe collection:) those knee high boots are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteFabulous shoes! What woman DOESN'T have an obsession with shoes :) At the peak of my obsession I had roughly 80 pairs of shoes. I've now learned my lesson and try to invest a bit more in classic pieces.

Love your shoe collection! Particularly the pink and purple pairs! May I ask what are the sizes for platform and heel? It seems that the purple pair has a little bit higher platform/heel. Would love to order a pair, but cannot decide on the size now. Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteThe pink is 7cm heel with no platform and the purple are 9cm/2cm platform. :)
DeleteCould you share any tips/tricks you use to prevent blisters and just overall foot pain when you wear high heels???
ReplyDeleteI'm planning on doing a video on high heels 101 so I'll make sure to cover that too. :)
Deletewould you please share your shoe collection?
ReplyDeletehttp://ohtheendlesspossibilities.blogspot.com/
hmm... maybe I should! :)
DeleteI loved this tag! What's so funny is that the story you told about the Sam Edelman 'Wilma' booties and going on a hunt for them after you saw Wendy in them is almost identical to the story of how I bought my pair! I absolutely adore them and I can see that you do too! I love your blog and channel!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed hearing your show confessions, Jen! I LOVE shoes =D
ReplyDeleteI wear heels A LOT (I'm so petite that I feel like I can ALWAYS be wearing them and get away with it lol), definitely a lot more than any over kind of shoe; but I do wear flats and stuff too.
I only have like, 20 pairs of shoes. I like to keep myself "under control" when it comes to shoes and limit my purchases to stuff that I'll actually wear. My fav pair of shoes are my black booties for sure, they are my go-to shoe =D
hi jen, thanks so much for your blog - I've had so much fun experimenting with makeup with the help of your tutorials! I wandered over to jgshoe.com and wanted to ask for your feedback - how do you find the quality and fit of their shoes? Most importantly are they comfortable? I have average sized feet but I do like the option of choosing your heel height. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteSince I don't have a ton of pumps to compare them to (non-strapped pumps in size 4 slip off my heels while these don't), I consider them to be comfortable enough. It's not as comfortable as a comfort shoe line though.
Deletewhat size shoe do you wear and how tall are you? I am also in between that awkward place where I can fit into kids shoes and the smallest women's shoe.
ReplyDeleteI wear size 2 in Kids and 210 on jgshoe.com.
DeleteI am sooo glad you made this post and mentioned the Korean website that you use. I often find myself just drooling at all the gorgeous shoes on PSS but then have a mini heart attack looking at the prices (I'm recently out of college, so my shoe budget is a loooot smaller, haha).
ReplyDeletehttp://jgshoe.com/Cute-Suede-Fur-Wedge-Boots.10475
I've especially been wanting these boots in black for the longest time - like at least a year (LOVE BOOTS). But then jgshoe.com has the same one at a much cheaper price!! Basically $100 less! When I save up enough money, I am so treating myself! Thanks for sharing the site! :)
Jen ! This is real important. In this video how do you get that effect. WHere it's clear on you and blurry in the background. What camera do you use for that light effect? OMG please answer.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Any DSLR that you record video with should have that effect as long as the lens you are using has a low f-stop. :)
DeleteI really enjoyed your Tag: confessions of a shoeaholic. I wanted to part take in the fun, but since I don't film I decided to do a blog post it. Feel free to check it out:
ReplyDeletehttp://2sistersadecadeapart.blogspot.com/2012/02/tag-confessions-of-shoeaholic.html
The tag questions brought back a lot of fond memories. You know you're a shoeaholic, when your coworkers know your shoe collection better than yourself. You are not alone I have hunted shoes down several times, but that is part of the fun. My philosophy, you spot a pair, wait for a sale and if you can't get them on sale it wasn't meant to be.
Jen, can u tell me the brand of those purple shoes ???
ReplyDeletejgshoe
DeleteWhat size do you normally wear in kid's shoes, and what size did you get your purple heels in? It's sooo hard to find heels that fit me since I'm a size 2.5 in kids! loll I definitely want to try out the jgshoes.com site!
ReplyDeleteI wear 2 in kids shoes and 210 for jgshoe.
DeleteI am so glad that there is someone else out there that has my shoe size problem. I am a size 4 and it's so hard to find shoes anywhere besides the kids section. Thanks for posting this! Totally made my day!
ReplyDeleteHi Jen! I also have extremely small feet and looking to order some shoes on jgshoe.com but I am having a difficult time figuring out my shoe size. I tried to print out the available size guide but my printer always scales the image therefore I can not determine the correct size. I have tried to find the "do not scale" option but unable to. This may be an odd request but can you please measure your feet in cm(both right and left)?? I noticed that you wear a 210 on jgshoe and I have about the same shoe size as you, 3.5-4 in adults. It just seems that 210(US 2) is a few sizes smaller than what I normally wear, and I want to be sure before I place the order. Thanks so much and hope to hear from you soon!! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Jen. I also have about size 4 feet. Still in the process of learning to walk in heels. I am looking for a nice comfortable pair of leather flats that I can keep wearing for a long time ( in between heel sessions or for days with lots of walking). Is there anything you recommend? Price range up to $150ish ( I know Tory Burch has some flats, haven't tried them out yet, also don't know if they are really worth the $200... your thoughts?)
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Hi Jen. I recently ordered a pair of of pumps from JGshoe.com, but unfortunately they are too small. They actually are a size 210. I was wondering if you might be interested in them since you fit a 210, or anyone reading this blog may be interested. They are really cute! I have the option of sending them back but I feel that it is too much effort and costs allot, so I thought that it would be a good idea to post it on your shoe confessions blog. I have noticed that there are allot of ladies on your blog that have petite feet as well.BTW, I am not trying to spam, I just don't know what to do with these shoes that are way too small for me. And at this point I am a little or allot desperate.LOL. These are the pumps I ordered from JGShoe, in the color suede.

LMK if you or anyone else is interested! Thanks so much!!
Ooops I forgot to mention that the pumps are 2cm/9cm and that I live in the Southern California. If you or anyone is interested please email me at michellenguyen212@gmail.com. THanks!!
Delete@ Meeshelle,

ReplyDeleteladies, i too ordered a pair of heels that are too big, simple suede in 1cm/9cm black size 220. i too feel paying half the price of the shoe to send back to korea is just too much. if anyone is interested let me know, i'll sell to you at a lower price. would be shipping from oregon.
ReplyDeletehi jen! do you recommend any flats or sandals? i know you love heels, but i'm not the type to wear them :P please help!
