$20 Makeup Challenge!

Hey everyone! Today I wanted to share the $20 Makeup Challenge tag. The concept is simple since it's basically just as the title implies. You get 20 bucks to complete an entire makeup look from start to finish using products purchased with only $20 before taxes including all primers, base, color makeup, and tools like lash curlers or brushes.

Since I usually like to mix drugstore and department store makeup, it was definitely a challenge to use not only drugstore products, but the less expensive drugstore products to boot! Many people don't realize that even a drugstore foundation can cost $10-$15, plus I didn't want to skimp on a full-on look that I could leave the house in.

Bronzed Goddess Makeup Tutorial

Hello everyone! Today's makeup tutorial is one that I've been wearing quite frequently this summer and I'm absolutely smitten by the look. I remember a few years back seeing Nicole Richie sporting the really popular trend of a bronzed smokey eye with the copper shadow ringing a halo entirely around the eyes. The intensity of the look made such an impact on my memory because it was so striking without being as harsh as a black shadow, so I wanted to share my version with you as well.

This is a look that can be worn during the day, but also looks amazing during warm summer evenings. Since the look is already smudgey, it will look fresh without sliding off throughout the day!

Recent Press Updates

Hey guys! I've been out of internet at where I'm staying for the last few days but I popped into a Panera to catch their free wifi so that I can update you with a few things. First of all, I was interviewed by Stylet, a popular fashion web magazine in Korea so if you are interested in seeing the article you can click here or the image below to read it. The article itself in Korean, but the interview questions are written in both English and Korean so most of my readers should be able to enjoy it. Shoutout to my Korean readers! :)

Also, on Tuesday I went and did an interview with LA18 so hopefully you guys local to LA will be able to see me on your local TVs in the next week! When I get more information about the exact day and time it will air I will post it here on the blog.

Here's a little behind-the-scenes photo from my Instagram while we were there. You can follow @frmheadtotoe for future pics. :)

Finally, I wanted to announce that I'll be officially guest judging at Kollaboration going on at the Ford Amphitheater tonight in Los Angeles, July 13, 2012 at 8:30PM. You can find out more information about the event on the Kollaboration Facebook page. If you are going, hope to see you there. Please come up and say hi if you see me!

Thank you for all of your love, encouragement, and support! You don't realize how much I think about you guys and keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Just knowing that you might take 5 minutes out of your day to read my little blog or watch any of my videos really blows my mind. I feel blessed beyond words everyday I play out this LA adventure and I know it wasn't my own doing that got me here.

Getting back to beauty posts, I'll have a new tutorial up next so check back soon! Much love and lots of hugs! xoxo

Haul & Vlog: IMATS and Anime Expo (Unii Palette Giveaway)!

As those of you who follow me on Twitter may know, I attended a couple of really fun conventions in the last couple of weeks. First off was IMATS, the big makeup convention that I also went to last year. Unfortunately due to my filming schedule of Away We Happened, I wasn't able to visit during the public days but I did get to pop in for a couple short hours between call times on Friday. I of course picked up a few goodies that I wanted to share. :)

The next weekend, I was super excited to go to Anime Expo at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Trust me, I was in cosplay heaven and there were tons of people who went all out from wigs to makeup to impressively elaborate costumes. I'm super nerdy and a long-time fan of anime so it was very, very exciting! Definitely had to control myself so I wouldn't purchase every cute plushy or animatronic cat ears that I passed by. Again, lots of cute things to share!

Check out my haul (and giveaway within the video) below!
