Manicure Monday: OPI Teal The Cows Come Home

9:00 AM

Hey everyone! Today's Mani Monday consists of a color that my sister grabbed from my nail polish drawer when she came over recently. For some reason, bluish teals aren't what I naturally gravitate toward but as soon as she applied it I knew I had to try it out too. Teal The Cows Come Home is punnily named and gives a gorgeous, bright pop of aquamarine shimmer to the nails. Lets check it out b below!

In the bottle, Teal The Cows Come Home is a medium, blue-based teal shimmer. I was really impressed with how the color popped on my sister's hands and it's one of those rare polishes that really look the same on the nail as it does in the bottle.

As with other pearly-finish polishes, this does show streaks upon application so you need to be careful with how evenly your brush strokes are, but fortunately this shade was a dream to apply. The texture of Teal The Cows Come Home was smooth and nearly perfect in 2 coats with OPI Nail Envy as a base and Seche Vite on top. OPI's flat, slightly curved brush is my favorite for a reason! It just makes it easy to get a clean cuticle edge and even coats.

Tip: to help polish look less streaky, use several very thin coats. This evenly disperses the polish and blends pearl-finish colors.

Overall I was very impressed with this polish both in look and application. I just wish every polish could apply like this did! If you are a fan of blues, this is definitely a great one to have in your collection.

Readers, what is your favorite type of blue to wear? Do you prefer shimmery polish or cream finish? Let me know in the comments!

  9. hi jen, is there an update to the perfumes you use that you mentioned from this post? http://www.frmheadtotoe.com/2011/11/tag-top-5-perfumes.html

also, i think it would be great if you could do a post on the top 5 lessons you've learned/improved/changed in applying make-up over the years. for instance - the way you clean your brushes or the way you apply foundation or wash your face, etc etc. a lot of girls can probably relate to those "mistakes" you've made in the past or are probably still making them. would love to see what you have learned over the years.
