Manicure Monday: Deborah Lippmann Tiptoe Through The Tulips

9:00 AM

Hello everyone! Today's Manicure Monday is in the same vein of neon pastels that I mentioned in my Spring Trends post that I've been loving. Deborah Lippmann's Tiptoe Through The Tulips is a soft orange creamsicle shade that I knew I would love right away. Doesn't it remind you of those push-up pops some of us had as a kid? The sherbet pastel will be so perfect for the upcoming summer!

As I make my way through the Deborah Lippmann Spring Reveries collection I'm continually impressed by the perfectly flattering pastels and creamy formula in each bottle. Seriously. So impressed.

You can see that Tiptoe Through The Tulips looks really flattering on my medium skintone and would also work on a wide variety of skintones as well. It's close enough to my hand color that it gives a nice muted look that is demure and office-appropriate without being your typical boring pink.

Here I wore a base of OPI Nail Envy, 3 coats of Tiptoe Through The Tulips, and a topper of Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat. This applied quite easily with only slight unevenness which is fixed by applying 3-4 thinner coats versus 2 thick ones.

Overall, I can only say that I'm falling more and more in love with each color in Deborah Lippmann's lovely group of pastels that it would be impossible to pick a favorite. For now, this is definitely my favorite orange that I've worn in a while, and definitely my favorite orange pastel!

You can check out my past reviews of the Deborah Lippmann polishes, including others from the Spring Reveries pastels here.

Readers, what is your go-to pastel polish shade? Do you prefer pastel or bright oranges? Let me know in the comments!

  1. This is a great shade! I prefer muted pastels or muted neons to bright colors; I feel they give me a little more leeway in the workplace!

  3. I love brighter oranges, but I'm really digging this pastel one! For some reason, this color reminds me alot of the cute little Japanese (or Asian in general) toys/candies. Time to test this line out at the Nordie's counter =P

  12. That's a really pretty pastel color! Reminds me of OPI's Where Did Suzi's-Man-Go? Hehe, but the OPI color may be more orange or maybe more of an orange creamsicle color. ^__^ Lovely post!
