Sigma Paris Palette Tutorial & Vlog!
10:06 AMHey everyone! I am writing this blog entry in Boulder, CO which is the first stop on my roadtrip out to LA. The mountains are absolutely beautiful here and this little mini-vacation reminds me of my trip to Paris last year with Sigma Beauty.
As many of you know, the Paris Palette was just released which is so exciting because I had a hand in developing it. I shared more pictures and swatches in this post but now I can share with you a makeup tutorial and vlog video as well! Today's look is a "pop of teal" which is a mostly neutral look with a bright eyeshadow that is framed on the lid. It's actually a very fun and surprisingly wearable look for Spring and Summer so I hope you enjoy the tutorial!
Click below to see the Behind the Scenes and Tutorial as well as more photos!
PRODUCTS MENTIONED:
Neutrogena Healthy Skin Foundation in 60 Natural Beige
NARS Stick Concealer in Custard
Tarte Smooth Operator Powder
Urban Decay Primer Potion
Sigma Paris Palette
Wet 'n Wild Gel liner
Lioele Artist Auto Eyebrow Pencil in grey black
Urban Decay Cannonball Mascara
Criss-cross lashes
Revlon Lip Butter in Peach Parfait
ON ME:
Flannel shirt from Abercrombie
Gingham shirt is from H&M
Necklace from H&M
Cardigan from H&M
YSL Arty ring
Here are some photos of the final look. From the front you can see how the neutral color cups the teal on the lid. I have small creases here but this look also works for larger lids and also monolids as well, which I showed in the video. :)
Here you can see how the color is stacked and blended together where they meet. You can't see this as well in photos, but the bluish-green iridescence of Triomphe really looks gorgeous next to the teal.
One last smile! That, and this photo shows off my Arty ring. (Did anyone see it hidden in the new blog layout? ;)
I hope you enjoyed the tutorial! Maybe it will give some inspiration for summery makeup looks with one of my favorite things about the warmer weather: COLOR!
It's time for me to go hiking up a mountain now, but let me know in the comments:
Do you wear brighter/more colorful makeup during the Spring and Summer? Does your makeup routine change?

Very very pretty look and great tutorial! I prefer bit brighter colors for the summer makeup.
ReplyDeleteSummer= No Makeup 90% of the time, or smokey copper-y or gold makeup

Hi Jen! Love your videos ^^ OMG you're in CO? I graduated from CU Boulder and live in Denver now :) How long will you be here for? You should stop by Pearl Street mall, they have a bunch of cute little boutiques. And "The Hill" near campus has some awesome places to eat. Hope you enjoy your stay! <3

ReplyDeletei love your tutorials! you always use colors that i would have a hard time figuring out how to wear. thanks for this!
ReplyDeleteMy makeup routine stays the same in the summer, just done with a lighter hand. Usually I like to wear bright colors in the spring/summer so I play it simple with my makeup :)

I would never have thought to pair these colors together, but I'm honestly really impressed with the execution! Great job as always Jen. I'll be sure to give this a try this coming weekend! :)

I wear less makeup during the summer - it melts right off in the midwestern heat! When I do, it's usually just assorted foundation related products, mascara, a taupe eyeshadow and a coral lip. I'm definitely going to try this look when I go out this weekend - time to shake up my boring makeup routine!
ReplyDeleteI love this green make up! It is so colourful and... it looks beautiful on brown eyes and I have brown eyes too! During the summer I definately wear colourful make up. Yesterday I just bought pale turquoise eyeshadow whith some sparkles in it and it is so pretty! Maybe some day you would like to do a make up tutorial with this shade? (and I know that you have one Dara-inspires rainbow eyes but I mean sth less dramatic for every day)
ReplyDeletelove the wide shade from neutral to ocean blue, this looks good! :D
ReplyDeletei would def try this!

The Ugly Moments
I'm not a big youtube/internet person but I've been watching your videos for the past year and a half or so and I had to come comment just to tell you how amazing you are with your make-up skills. I never bothered making a google account and actually commenting on anyone but I just had to. I love how you keep things subtle yet sexy, neutral, and classy. I'm a mid 20's korean girl as well and when I get married, I can't think of any other make-up artist I'd want my make-up done by but you. you are SO talented and know how to use make-up at it's best potential without looking like a drag queen. I made an account just to tell you, you are the only true make-up artist on youtube!
ReplyDeletejust saw you on the wongfu production skit video, so cool to see two of my bookmarked internet stars work together! :D
ReplyDeleteYour looking awesome...! Lovely video.

Hi Jen,
ReplyDeleteHow did u get the double eye lid? It looks so natural! Did you use the tape?
I love the look of the Paris Palette and actually ordered it back in May. I've been waiting for it for weeks and am convinced that it has gotten lost in transit. Sigma Beauty's customer service is appalling as they never answer my questions as to what can be done to remedy this and just send me a stock answer. Jen, do you know anyone in Sigma that could help?
