My Little Ponies "Rainbow Dash" Makeup Tutorial

3:04 PM

Hello everyone! It's been a long time since I've been quite this excited to share a tutorial with you. There's just something about bright, rainbow colors that always puts a huge smile on my face and I hope this tutorial can do the same for you. :)

Today's look is inspired by the My Little Ponies character Rainbow Dash. The bright, gorgeous colors of her mane made me think that it would make a perfect Halloween look this year!

Were any of you big My Little Pony fans? Check out the tutorial below!

PRODUCTS MENTIONED:
Sugarpill Cosmetics Heart Breaker Palette (Mochi, 2AM, Acidberry, Velocity)
Sugarpill Cosmetics Burning Heart Palette (Flamepoint, Buttercupcake, Love+, Poison Plum)
Darkness false lashes in Super 3 (similar/also similar to combining this and this from MAC)
Melliesh lower false lashes in 05 Sweet (similar/similar)
MAC Blush in Briar Rose

And here are some of my photos of the look:

My Rainbow Dash McDonald's toy! Do we look like sisters?

Rainbow Dash hoodie which I bought in this post. Her eye color matches my lipstick.

Her "cutie mark" is a cloud with lightning a bolt-shaped rainbow. I thought my temple would be a more appropriate spot to put it for a makeup tutorial than my flank. ;)

You can see the blending of yellow, orange, red, and purple on the upper lid. Oh, and those crazy blue gradient brows.

I didn't want to do a full-on blue face which could easily go cheesy, so instead I went for a wash of light blue blended around the eye area like a soft mask. This hinted at Rainbow Dash's coloring without distracting from the strong colors in this look.

Here you can see the full spectrum of rainbow colors surrounding the eyes. Using spiky upper lashes and lower half-lashes really frames the entire eye. The circle lenses I'm wearing are EOS Flower Pink lenses to match Rainbow Dash's fuchsia eyes.

It is humanly impossible to dress up like a My Little Pony and not do a million cutesy poses. This is a kiss to you because I love you, so THANK YOU for letting me share my makeup fantasies! ^_^

Were any of you huge MLP fans when you were little like me? I used to have a dollhouse filled with the mini ponies that I ran to protect at the start of any natural disaster, like evil thunderstorms. You could say I'm an OG pony-lover. It only made sense that when the creator of Powerpuff Girls came out with an updated My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic tv show, I've been happily watching on Netflix anytime I just want to relax and have a nostalgia fix. It's actually really good!

Hope you enjoyed the tutorial!

Let me know in the comments what you think and, of course, if you are also a My Little Pony fan!

  13. I love how you look like Rainbow Dash without looking all crazy and BLUE haha. Thanks for the great tutorial (although I don't think I would be dressing up as Rainbow Dash). It really showed that you thought through the look and about how to look pretty while being... well a pony haha!

Could you also do the polar bear look? I bought a cute korean polar bear hat...however, could not find the make-up to match it...I read all your halloween post again and again...I tried the snowy princess look, but I guess it doesn't quite fit in a bear hat...hahaha
Jen...plz could you give some recommendation for a bear look? Thank you <3
