Urban Decay: Feminine Palette Review & Swatches
9:00 AM
Hey everyone! Today I wanted to share with you another one of Urban Decay's limited edition palettes. I already reviewed the Fun Palette, which has a similar zip-around compact format, and this time I'm bringing you the more delicate Feminine Palette.
This palette comes in a sexy, purple-pink fabric case with black lace-printed clear plastic layered on top. I mentioned this because you can't see it in photos, but there's some cool dimensionality going on with the layered textures. Very pretty!
Eyeshadows Top: Bordello / Skimp / AC/DC
Lip Junkie Lipgloss: Wallflower
Eyeshadows Bottom: Gunmetal / Hijack / Lost
Each shadow is 0.03 oz (compared to UD's full-sized shadows at 0.05 oz) while the adorable mini gloss is 0.11 oz (compared to full-sized Lip Junkie at 0.34 oz).Skimp: light peachy pearl
AC/DC: cool greyed purple
Gunmetal: charcoal satin with silver micro-shimmer
Hijack: metallic cool greenish-teal
Lost: creamy, deep metallic bronze
As with any palette, I like that there is a built-in highlight shade in Skimp which is a beautiful color with an almost golden tinge. The other standout to me is Lost, and no, not just because it's neutral! It's actually incredibly buttery smooth and just an all-around gorgeous minky brown. The other shades in the collection would all coordinate well with each other to give a bit more interest to any work-appropriate eye.
My only caveat is that I do wish the colored shades would each be warmed up a bit to work easier with my yellow undertones, but if you have more pink in your skin than me then you'll likely love this palette.
Here is a swatch of the Lip Junkie lipglosses from the three palettes:
Midnight Cowboy (Fun Palette) / Wallflower (Feminine Palette) / Naked (Dangerous Palette)
Lip Junkies in general have an emollient, medium-sticky formula with a strong minty scent and cooling sensation. If interested you can purchase the full-sized Lip Junkie lipglosses here for $19.
Overall, this is a good palette if you like "conservative color" and are drawn to cooler shades. I personally prefer shades with a bit more saturation but I can see this looking quite lovely on my brunette and blonde-haired friends! The Feminine Palette is available now for $36 at Sephora, Ulta, and beauty.com.
Hope you guys enjoyed this review! If you are interested, here is my review of the Fun Palette. I'll be posting the Dangerous Palette soon so keep checking back!
Readers, will you be picking up this palette? What do you think of Urban Decay eyeshadows? Let me know in the comments!

Thanks for the swatches. Think I'll be going with the Fun palette. Will you be reviewing the Vice Palette or doing looks from the different palettes?
ReplyDeleteYou should review the Disney Cinderella collection at Sephora! The packaging is gorgeous and the eyeshadow palettes are neat. Would love to see your take on the eye shadow palettes, nail color, etc.

ReplyDeleteI was going to buy the fun palette last year but backed out because it was expensive for only 6 eyeshadows. As for the feminine palette I hate how 3 out of 6 eye shadow shades are repeats from previous Urban Decay palettes such as the Naked 1 and Book of Shadows 3. I probably will not purchase this one. But I love the three eyeshadows that I have. Like all urban decay eyeshadows they are amazing. I especially love hijack and gunmetal. Hijack is one of my all-time favorite urban decay shadows. It is very pigmented and I love the color and last power. I wore to a wedding and received may compliments. As for the lipgloss when I have Wallflower because I received it with the Urban Decay Naked 2. I agree that it blends in with my lip color if I just put it on by itself. But I tried it over the Maybelline Color Sensation Lipstick in Pink Satin and it looked really good.
ReplyDeletei want to dump it and use it as a clutch! love the case
ReplyDeleteunrelated, but one of the stila trios you mentioned (from the barbie palette) in your travel bag video a long time ago is on sale/last chance online. they didn't reproduce the entire palette, but just in case you need a backup of at least one of the trios!!

Love the palette but I do wish they were more space conservative in the design, which was the deal breaker for me. Would love to be able to carry this around in a smaller clutch.
ReplyDeleteOoh, love this palette. Might pick it up since it has some colors that I don't have in my makeup collection at the moment!
