Manicure Monday: Lioele Lavender
9:00 AM
Hey guys! For today's manicure I wanted to share with you a polish that was a totally unexpected love for me. It all started a few weeks ago when I was preparing for my panel at Kcon. They had asked me to share a quick tutorial so I thought an ombre nail how-to would be fairly easy and informative. Unfortunately the tutorial was scrapped but fortunately for me, my ombre mani for the day started with this newly discovered Lioele Lavender polish.
I couldn't wait too long to apply it again, just so I could show you how awesome this shade is!
In all honesty, I tend to be a little shy of medium-to-light purples since the color is complementary to the yellow in my skin (see my post on color theory) and can over-neutralize my hand making it look greyish.
The magical trick to this polish is that there is an almost pinky-tinged brightness to this shade that, for the life of me, will not show through in photos. You're going to have to trust me on this. It's not your average pastel lavender!
Here I used CND Stickey Base for my base coat and 2 coats (2! And I'm a serial 3-coater!) of Lioele 37 Lavender with Seche Vite on top to give it that super glossy finish that I love.
Overall I've been very consistently happy with the quality of Lioele polishes, from the smoothness of the texture to the flat-wand brush design. Unlike many other companies that use a flat wand, Lioele's brush edge is not curved which I find quite easy to maneuver for really crisp cuticle edges. The formula of this particular offering is nice and opaque in 2 coats and it was easy to control during application. Can I also just say that creme finish pastels are just so rewarding to wear? It looks very clean and you can really appreciate nuances of color.
For those of you who were curious to see my Kcon ombre nails, here's a pic I shared on my Instagram while en route to the venue. I also accessorized with my Rebecca Minkoff crossbody (in white) which was a recent acquirement, as well as this super awesome buckle ring I randomly came across on Amazon.
Would you like to see an ombre nails tutorial? I know I had an older one but I have been using a new technique that works great when using two different colors. Let me know in the comments!
XOXO

that colour is beautiful! I really like it, although I think it's more of a spring-summer colour... :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the buckle ring! But the amazon one only has sizes 8.5 and 9 now. What size are you sporting there?
ReplyDeleteIt came in a size 4 which is what mine is. I'd bookmark it because I'd guess it may come back in stock!

ReplyDeleteGorgeous color. I'm a little shy with purple on nails too. This one is absolutely beautiful, and I'd love to try it too.
ReplyDeleteOhhhh I LOVE purple nail polishes. This one is no exception! lol
ReplyDeleteI love lavender, my favourite is Sally Hansen Lacey Lilac, which seems to be pretty similar to this one ^^ xx

Lavender is probably my favorite color to wear on my nails - it's feminine but not overly girly. My current favorite is Orly's Cashmere Cardigan, but I'm on the lookout for something to replace it since they don't make it anymore. I might have to try this one :)

Wooow! Now the question is where I can get Lioele polishes in the Philippines. Hihi
ReplyDeleteThe colour is so pretty!!! I think I need to get this one already, haha. I received the yellow one from Lioele a while ago, but this colour is so much prettier!
ReplyDeleteThe yellow is nice but I agree, it's a standard pastel yellow. This lavender and Peach Pink are excellent and unique though!
DeleteI love the ombre nails, can't wait to see if you put up a tutorial! ^___^ I love lavender colors! They have a nice "serene" kind of air about them. I have been on the hunt for the perfect lavender shade. (I have too many deep purples!)
ReplyDeleteyes!! tutorial sounds awesome!!! :)
ReplyDeleteYes please, do a tutorial on this new technique, I'd love to know!! :)
ReplyDeleteNice, would love to see the tutorial! am sure you will also love the color selections at www.gella.ca ;)

lovely color!
ReplyDeleteHaven't tried Lioele nail polish yet but I am digging this shade :D How long does it last before chipping?
ReplyDeleteLooks pretty, but are these Formaldehyde, Toluene and DBP Free?
ReplyDeleteI have never tried Lioele nail polishes before but I love this color. I currently do not own a lavender purple nail polish. I love the pastel finish and it looks very girly and flirty. The finish resembles another Korean brand Etude House. I have a pastel pink from Etude House called Pretty in Pink. The finish is also very pastel like and also long lasting. I also tend to love brushes that are round than flat. I own some Sally Hensen fast dry nail polishes and they come with a flat brush. They are very hard to control and tend to get over my skin. I would love to see an ombre nail polish tutorial I have always wondered how to do them.
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE to see a new tutorial on those ombre nails! I just recently tried Lioele nail polish in the pink color and I was very pleased with it; the brush and application were very smooth. Thanks for your great reviews, you've been such an inspiration to me! :)
ReplyDeleteThis Lioele nail color is so sweet! How I wish there's a Lioele store in Malaysia. Thanks for sharing this nail color with us. I'll definitely buy this if I ever see one in Malaysia.
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing color!:X
ReplyDeleteI love this color. This is my Favorite color.
