SNSD "I Got A Boy" Makeup Tutorial

Hey everyone! I wanted to kick off tutorials for the new year with a really fun K-pop inspired makeup tutorial. Literally the day the I Got A Boy music video from Girls Generation was uploaded a week ago, requests have been pouring in and I can certainly tell why! This is their comeback song so it's catchy and the video is flashy and entertaining. Very cool makeup to play around with! :D

Check out the tutorial and photos below!

Here is GG's I Got A Boy music video:

And here's a screencap of Jessica I took from the video. Super cute, right?

This is my completed makeup look! I clipped in some blonde hair extensions and threw on my Tokidoki hat to go with the urban-chic vibe.

For the eyes I used a golden shadow and contoured with a matte tan to make the gold pop. Below the eyes I used individual false lashes with a gradation of colorful rhinestones to mimic the sparkling effect of Jessica's makeup.

You can also see the glow of the highlighter I added to my cheeks and nose bridge to make my face look extra youthful. I used the new Urban Decay Flushed palette which so far I am enjoying. It comes out everywhere on February 1st so I'll try to do a review soon. :)

This was mimicking the dance pose from the video where they were patting their cheeks. ^_^

I hope you enjoyed the tutorial! If you want to keep in touch for future Kpop looks, don't forget to follow on Bloglovin' or you can find me rather frequently updating my Instagram and Twitter.

Let me know in the comments what future tutorials, reviews, or basics you'd like to see!

  9. Love love love your makeup here! But I have two quick questions! I noticed that you had a crease without eyelid tape or glue in the video, what did you doooo? Haha.
Second question, is your tokidoki hat snapback or fitted? I just got the tokidoki x marvel snapback! :)

    1. I didn't do anything to cause it, it just happened naturally probably due to my irregular sleep schedule. Lately my right eye has had a consistent small crease so my eyes have been uneven for a while! It's quite annoying, haha.

The hat is fitted. I love Tokidoki hats! :)

  10. I love this, so fun! Amazing job Jen! <3 I know it's silly but I think a good basic video could be on how to blend eye shadows? I have watched your videos and followed your blog for forever, and even though I see how you blend your shadows all the time, I still feel like I get things too muddy or not blended well enough. Maybe you can create a tip video? (Technique, tools you suggest?) A review on hair products would be fantastic as well, you have amazing hair! ^___^;;

  14. Hey Jen. How would you remove the rhinestones? Would normal makeup wipes do the trick? I don't use liquid makeup removers.

  16. hey jen! i always love your kpop related tutorials :) really hope you'd do more of them soon.
am pretty curious how to achieve the straight brows look. noticed that a lot of idols and in kdramas, the ladies don't really have arched brows. did they tweeze their brows that way or was it filled in to look straight?

  17. Hi Jen, I wanted to ask you. I have a round face shape. is there any advice you can give how should I put on makeup, especially on the use of blush on my cheeks so my face look thin?
By the way, since I wear the hijab, can you provide input so that when wearing hijab, my makeup still be seen, especially in the cheeks.
    thank you in advance :)

Come check out my blog, Lucia Blogs, and tell me what you think. It would be so great if you did. Thanks!!
