I love Halloween season and I try to make it a point to create at least one crazy tutorial each year. Thank goodness that Guardians of the Galaxy had such a BA inspirational female lead! Not only is Gamora green and sexy (Kermit the Frog would have weak knees) but she's also strong and intelligent as well, just ignore the face that she's a skilled assasin. You guys. There are not enough Gamora characters out there for women to look up to.
Because she's just an all-around fantastic character inside and out, I chose to create this all-out green Gamora makeup and costume tutorial for you. Check it out below!
Let me start out by saying that this is one of my favorite collaborations I've done! It's been quite a long time since I did a Kpop makeup tutorial for you guys but the stars aligned when my friends Simon and Martina of Eat Your Kimchi (fabulous Youtube channel about Kpop and Korean culture and food) came to LA and stayed with us for a few days.
What is that you said? A Youtuber in my home who loves girly things, makeup, Kpop, and PINK was having an extended sleepover? Ooooh, you know that means we had to do record a tutorial. ;)

Hey everyone! Today I have an eyeliner-based makeup tutorial that I am very much excited to share, mainly because the couple of times I did this look I was completely in love. Ever since I first heard Lorde's "Royals" it has been my favorite pre-Fall jam. There's something about it that is really edgy yet basic, which also reflects this cut-crease winged liner inspired by her look in the music video.
Check out the tutorial and more photos below!
Hey guys! Today I wanted to share with you a day-to-night makeup transformation which can really come in handy for those days when you want to go out after a long workday. Sometimes it's just not possible to start from scratch so I made 2 tutorials in 1 inspired by the gorgeous Mila Kunis. :)
Hey everyone! I wanted to kick off tutorials for the new year with a really fun K-pop inspired makeup tutorial. Literally the day the I Got A Boy music video from Girls Generation was uploaded a week ago, requests have been pouring in and I can certainly tell why! This is their comeback song so it's catchy and the video is flashy and entertaining. Very cool makeup to play around with! :D
Check out the tutorial and photos below!
Hey everyone! It seems that prom season is already upon us. When I stayed in a hotel last week there was actually a prom going on that night in the banquet rooms and I'm not gonna lie, I get a big grin on my face every time I see high school kids getting dressed up for the dance.
Each year for prom, I try to do a makeup look that will work for many types of dresses since I know each prom will have a flurry of colors and styles that'll be popular. Last year's tutorial was a two-toned shadow with voluminous lashes, a look that I am still in love with now. To bring something different but still appropriate for every dress, I turned to this basic smoky eye using a blackened dark green shadow as the focal point.
Video tutorial, pics, and a look back at my own prom below!
One of the things I love most about doing Youtube is that I get to share a part of my past and culture with other people. Kpop is something I've loved since I was a little girl listening to 룰라 (I was as obsessed with 비밀은없어 as I was with Ace of Base's The Sign) while dancing in my living room, so I of course think it's so amazing that new Korean music is sent to me through e-mail, youtube, and twitter messages requesting tutorials for the latest songs.
Lately, I've had a flood of requests for Miss A's "Touch" and when I queued up the video, I immediately saw why...
Happy weekend everyone! Today's look is on another Kpop music video, SNSD aka Girls Generation's "The Boys". When I first saw this video, I was instantly drawn toward Tiffany's gold glittery eye makeup with milky pink lips and fun lower lashes. I haven't worked with glitters in a long time so it seemed really appropriate with the upcoming holidays. I hope you guys enjoy watching!
Here is my tutorial for Tiffany's look:
And here is the original Girls' Generation music video for The Boys:
I also took some screencaps/reference photos for the makeup here:
And here is my version of the look:

And my own photos:
So I'm actually a bit surprised at how well the brown eyebrows worked for this look because I normally would only fill my brows in with an ash grey! It seems to warm up the whole face and plays off of the gold glitter nicely. Also, if the lower false lashes are too long for you, then you should try cutting them a bit shorter and only wearing them near the outer corners of your eyes. I snipped the inner 2 slightly shorter to look more natural as well.
In the end, I was really happy with how the look turned out and I hope you guys enjoyed watching too! It was nice to have fun with a thinner double-winged eyeliner which is pretty opposite of most kpop looks nowdays. If you end up trying this look, feel free to share it on my facebook gallery and let me know on Twitter as well so I can go and check it out. :D
Thanks so much for watching/reading and let me know in the comments the next look you'd like to see!

Here is the original music video by Hyuna of the Kpop group 4 Minute. She's the sassy rapper and this is her sassy sassiness sassing it up in hurrrr. With bubbles. And pops. Lots of pops.
Here are some screen shots of Hyuna's looks in the video that I took. As you can see, there are a few variations to her makeup but they are all versions of the same brown on top/gold on bottom look with black-lined eyes and glowing skin.
This is the look that I was copying the most, her "smokey" version of the look. You can clicky for larger pics. :)
And here are my pics of this look. For those wondering, yes I have gotten quite a bit more tan while laying out on Huntington Beach, which is really quite appropriate for Hyuna's current bronze goddess look! I actually think it's really refreshing to see a Kpop idol rocking the tan since everyone in Asia seems to be so obsessed with having light skin 98% of the time.
I, for one, think that you can be beautiful at any skin color and I just go with whatever my skin color feels like being. Skin health far is more important than shade, so wear daily sunscreen (even if you are naturally tan) and be proud of who you are just as you are. ^_^
Pretending to be baller like I am in front of a Hummer instead of my apartment wall. Bam.
Closer shot of the eyeshadow shading. Face glow. Matte lips.
OAnd then I got inspired with all the hair flippity-flippage and whipped my hair back and forth a la Willow Smith. How did I get my camera to focus? Magic, luck, and unicorns probably.
And just because I'm having too much fun creating gifs here is a practically film-like snippet of sweet hair-flying action. I was dizzy after being "creative" but boy was it worth it.
Ok seriously, who tried flipping their hair around (or thought about it) after reading this blog post? Be honest. XD
Hope you enjoyed and for those of you waiting for the Nana monolid tutorial, NO WORRIES! That will be my next Kpop look for sure! ;)
Oh and before I forget, you asked and I upgraded: Pretty & Cute's coupon code is now valid for ALL Korean products, not just Lioele. Use code KLOVE10 for 10% off all Korean products! :D Until next time~

Hello everyone! I hope those in the states had a fantastic Memorial Day weekend. I took an extra day off work so I'm home today and what better thing to do than work on my blogs and videos, right? Right? That's what everyone does on their days off? ;)
Well, I am happy to say that I finished editing my Rania-inspired tutorial because I am really excited about the way it turned out. I know you guys pick up on all the subtleties in the videos, so give yourself a pat on the back if you noticed the improved quality. ^_^ I guess every new equipment has its learning curve, right?
Anyway, here is the tutorial:
Products mentioned:
So if you watched this video you may notice how sexy it is, which is no big deal for American pop stars, but for a Korean-based pop group? Really controversial! They have had a lot of backlash, especially for a rookie group, and I honestly think it's silly because "suggestive" dance moves aren't really a new thing. The girls in this group are all really talented, not to mention multi-ethnic and multi-lingual. One member is actually Chinese, and there is also a Thai member as well as a Korean-Japanese who was born and raised in Japan.
And just because I have too much fun taking extra silly pics and making gifs out of them, here's one more. Seriously, you can only do so many "sexy face" pics before the puffy cheeks inevitably make an appearance. I'm pretty sure it's a basic scientific fact.
Hope you enjoyed the tutorial as well as the new look and feel of the images! I'm thinking of doing a big blog facelift soonish. We'll see. :)
P.S. - Check out this screenshot I grabbed when @radketastic tweeted me "@frmheadtotoe http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gGN_W4VBZFo look at the two top rated comments~"
Lolllllllllllllll guess I sent lots of people to the video.

I hope that they don't keep having so much negativity attached to their name because I really like their debut song and appreciate their darker image amongst the many female kpop groups out there. Just my two cents. ^_~

Here you can see the shape of the eyeshadow shading.
Anyone recognize these star earrings BoA wore a few years back? I thought it suited the look. ^_^
And I wanted to show a couple photos in natural light. This lip color is nice and peach-nudey.
