Christmas Love! And Jewelry Payless Giveaway Winners

5:43 PM

Just wanted to send out some Christmas love to everyone out in the blog world! I'm sitting here with my family, listening to Christmas songs, eating good lasagna (lol) and brisket, taking hours-long naps, and feeling very blessed. Presents have been given and received, including a very generous donation toward World Vision that my sister-in-law is doing on behalf of our family.

I'm still deciding on what I want to donate. Maybe a goat? Or a duck? Chickens? They are all so cute, not to mention very helpful! (Let me know what I should choose in the comments. ^_^)

I just think it's so cool that you can donate an actual animal to a family in need. ^_^ There are also so many other things that the donation can go toward like job training for sexually exploited women and medical care, one of the most desperately needed things in impoverished areas.

Looking through the catalogue, I was very moved and going into the new year I want to make it a goal to do some fundraising to donate to World Vision. I haven't planned anything yet, it's just been rolling around in my thoughts. This isn't some promotion for the organization or anything, it's just been something pressing upon my heart. I hope that when my idea comes to fruition, we will be able to show others the kind of love and generosity that many of us have been blessed with. Food on the table, warm clothes to wear, clean water to drink, and health. *teary*

Yes, I'm allowed to be emotional on Christmas, right? :)

Anyway, that is for shortly into the future. For now I wanted to announce the giveaway winners for the Jewelry Payless giveaway I've been sitting on for a while.

First place for a $50 toward jewelry is Rinny:

Second place for $30 toward Jewelry Payless is Paige:

I've already sent the winners e-mails so please respond asap! Congratulations and Merry Christmas!

New youtube giveaway will be announced in a couple days for all your <3!

I got my dad-in-law this guy from Target because it reminds me of the dogs. LOL.

Much love, and thank you so much to the One who we remember on this day who has blessed our lives in immeasurable ways. You breathe life, you authored love, and you keep me humble. Thank you. ^_^

  3. Thank you again Jen! I'm so excited to be winning my first giveaway haha.

And that is really nice of you and your family to donate to charity for the holidays. And I think chickens seem to be the most practical, since they lay plenty of eggs every day :)

  7. What a wonderful concept! It's times like these when we realize how lucky and blessed we are that we should think of others who are less fortunate. Merry Christmas!

  8. Sorry this is unrelated to the post! But prettyandcute is having a sale so I was going to use this chance to shop and finally get that princess mirror, but it keeps telling me "Order subtotal does not meet the minimum of $47.99 for this coupon code.
There are no products in the cart which this coupon applies to." I thought you only had to spend $35? My total is $40 without shipping so why isn't it working?! </3

  11. nahomiiix3: Did you add the mirror to your cart first? The total with the mirror will be at least $47.99 because it's your $35 purchase, and the mirror price will be taken off with the code. Hope that helps!

  18. Hi Jen,

Glad to hear you had an awesome Christmas :) That is very awesome to hear of others donating to those in need as a gift as well! And that is very neat and genius that you can donate a live animal haha I can't decide either between a goat or a chicken :/ A goat is bigger and can give milk, but a chicken can lay lots of eggs haha But either way, it will be a blessed gift to them :)

Another really awesome one you should check out is this (http://www.joycemeyer.org/OurMinistries/HandofHope/Outreaches/outreaches.htm). You can donate whatever amount you feel and however often you wish. I actually donate to this one in varying amounts throughout the year. They have many similar outreaches to World Vision (children's homes, disaster relief, human trafficking, medical missions), but what I really like the most about them is that they are also committed to spreading the Good News of Christ with all that they do even through outreaches like prison ministry. It was also interesting to see in their catalog for Christmas that $10 dollars could give a child medical care for a month, $25 would help in providing clean water, $100 would help restore and rebuild homes, etc, but they always tell you to give whatever amount you feel God telling you to give, it doesn't have to follow their increments. I felt God put it on my heart to share this with you after reading your entry. Don’t misread me, I’m not saying one charity is better than the other, I just wanted to share with you one that is special to me.

I would also like to thank you for everything that you do. Thank you for being you, who God created you to be. The positive and humbled attitude and thoughts you express in your writing and videos are greatly encouraging and admirable. Though I have only started following your blog recently, I have learned so much from you that I could not have learned the same from another source. And thank you for helping us to remember that there is no use to try and be completely “perfect” because we cannot be, nobody is perfect. There are always going to be haters. Though through God’s eyes, we are all perfect WITH our imperfections/brokenness, He loves us the same and that’s all that matters. Much love to you and may God continue to bless you in all that you do, with peace and joy.
