Revlon Lip Butters Review & Swatches

Hey guys! Today I wanted to share a product with you that has become my go-to lip product: Revlon's new Colorburst Lip Butters.


This is a balm-like lipstick that has a medium-to-high amount of pigment but still retains a lot of smoothness and moisture like tinted lip balms. It's seriously my new holy grail so I thought I'd do a full review of them with swatches and a comparison to my previous lipstick love, the Dior Addict High Shine lipstick.

Here are the Lip Butters that I own: 
Cherry Tart, Berry Smoothie, Lollipop, Tutti Frutti, Sweet Tart, Cotton Candy, and Peach Parfait.


070 Cherry Tart
Sheer jelly red


I took screencaps for each lipstick from my video. In real life this lipstick is much less orange and more neutral red.


015 Tutti Frutti
Bright orange


This color is easier to wear than true opaque oranges and looks flattering on warmer skintones.


075 Lollipop
Bright raspberry pink


This one is pretty bright and I'd wear it as a statement lipstick with neutral eyes. It's darker and more fuchsia in real life than in this photo.


050 Berry Smoothie
Medium, natural pink


Again, this color seems to be darker in real life than my screencap, but you can tell it's a very wearable shade and it's darker than my natural lip color. It's a more "mature" color in my opinion.


090 Sweet Tart
Warm, bright girly pink


I love this color but it's definitely a bright one. It's more barbie pink compared to the fuchsia look of lollipop so I'd consider it a statement lippy.






045 Cotton Candy
Pale pink with a golden sheen



I love this as a wearable nude lip on me. This would pair really well with any smoky eye but I find myself grabbing for it to wear sheerly on an everyday basis as well.



025 Peach Parfait
Pinky-peach with golden sheen


This lipstick is my favorite of the bunch since it's the perfect everyday lipstick for my skintone. It's very wearable and looks good with any makeup. It is slightly more saturated in real life than in this photo.


Here are my arm swatches so you can see the colors side-by-side:

And here's slightly closer and blurred so you can see the shimmers in the last two, Cotton Candy and Peach Parfait. The shimmer particles are so delicate, they feel totally smooth and undetectable on the lips.


As far as wear goes, these last about 3 hours on me and the darker shades leave a slight stain of color on the lips after they wear off. They are very moisturizing, although I will say that if your lips were very chapped to begin with, the lighter colors can accentuate that since they tend to slip into the cracks of dry lips. Otherwise, I am overall very impressed with the quality and pigmentation of these and will definitely be picking up more!

I found mine at CVS for around $7.50 during a buy 1 get 1 50% off sale but I've heard people finding them for cheaper at Target as well. If you have trouble finding them, I do want to mention that it wasn't in the regular Revlon section but instead on its own promotional display.

I hope this was helpful for those of you who were interested in picking up this lipstick! I know other raved-about colors are Creme Brule (looked too brown for my taste) and Red Velvet (more vampy than what I usually wear) but I think the next one I want to pick up is Strawberry Shortcake!

    BooBooNinja: I think you should try Berry Smoothie. It wears about 3 hours for me and yes they are definitely one of the most moisturizing for me!

    You look great in all these lip colors!
    I never found a pink lipstick which matches my skin color... Always look better in peachy color. Do you have recommendation for very yellow Asian skin tone?
    I'm also trying to find the lip color you wear in 'Juice Orange' but that particular one is out of stock for a long time. Is 015 Tutti Frutti a good match?

    Quicktip: Buy 1, Get 1 50% off this week at CVS! Most of them don't carry the Lip Butters or are sold out of most of the colors. Ask the cashier for a raincheck! :)

    Thank you for the swatches and review, it helped alot since it's pretty hard to choose the right colors when it comes to lipsticks and you don't want to pay for a lipstick you wont use. Love u!

    I love them! I got all the colors and more. They're on sale at ULTA for buy one and get one 50% off. Also, used their coupon from their catalog so got $3.50 off on the entire purchase. Get them while they're still around. I looked everywhere and they stopped displaying them until I saw them at ULTA and I bought almost the entire display!! Haha!

    They looks awesome on your lips, all of the colors you choose are great but I think Peach Parfait is the best but they all come very close :)

    Wow great review! I have the Strawberry Shortcake lipbutter but found it too "barbie" pink and immature in coloring. I think I will have to pick up peach parfait!
    I love your eye makeup here as well! Also, I am hoping you will do a tutorial/look for the naked2 palette! thanks :)

    My skin tone is a bit darker than yours and maybe I'm just an addict of purple but...I really love 085 Sugar Plum!
    I think it's a very elegant purpley-pink that doesn't look too unnatural and is still very warm. I recently wore it for an orchestra concert where we played The Nutcracker Suite, haha!
    I also am a big fan of Sweet Tart and Berry Smoothie.

    I just purchased the lip butter today! ive been looking for it everywhere and i recently found out that they sell them at target. so i went to my local target and originally i wanted peach parfait but they only had 3 colors available out of like 12 so i got strawberry shortcake. the color is pretty light pink and with my asian skin color, i dont think it suits well. it would look better with more fair skin but i LOVE the feeling and its definitely moisturizing!

    I got creme brulee and pink truffle. Creme brulee on my lips just looks like a shimmery nude color and pink truffle is close to my natural lips with just the right amount of color. I want to try peach parfait and/or berry smoothie! Thanks for the swatches!

    have you tried cupcake? Love it! It's pink and slightly shimmery. Oh, and I tried exfoliating my lips daily, and now I don't get that waxy buildup. Thanks for the advice! All the colors look great on you.

    I am so disappointed. We're the same skin tone & shade, but the lip butters don't look the same on my lips as they do yours. So I guess I didn't take into consideration our lip color? :( I love love the way peach parfait looks on you. But, when I put it on, it's very sheer, almost nude as if I had only a clear gloss on. :( I also love how the berry smoothie looks on you, but on me it's not as bright. It's actually a dark and dull look for my lips. oh well.... thanks for the very informative video & for trying all the colors on.
