Manicure Monday: Covergirl Lav-endure 145
9:00 AM
Happy Monday! Today's Manicure Monday is following with the Spring trend of pastel shades that I'm loving. Lavender is actually one of my favorite colors in general, not only just this season, because it's so feminine and delicate while not being as prissy as pink. I've always found it to be flattering on me for clothing as well but for nails it can be harder to find a warm enough shade to not neutralize my hands too much. Too dark or cool and my hands look dull. Thankfully, I think I've found the perfect warm lavender in Covergirl's Lav-endure!
I have to credit this gem to my bestie Kassia for purchasing this polish at Target on a whim. Ever since I first saw how lovely it looked on her, I became obsessed with it until I finally had the courage to ask if I could borrow the color as well! This bottle is hers but I've already gone and picked up a bottle for myself which I'll share in an upcoming drugstore haul. ;)
This shade is just the right paleness and warmth to actually brighten up my hands, giving them the clean, feminine look that I always wanted from a light purple polish. I applied over Seche Clear base coat and Covergirl Lav-endure was completely opaque in only 2 coats. After Seche Vite top coat was applied, the polish lasted very well without chipping for several days. Serious LOVE!!!
I may have to pick up more of these Covergirl polishes if the others are as wonderful as this one so let me know if you've tried any and if there are any must-haves I need to check out!
Readers, what is your favorite pastel polish color? Do you have a go-to lavender shade? Let me know in the comments!

Oh, awesome! Thank you so much for subscribing! :)
Deletei LOVE this nail polish, not just the color but all of the CoverGirl outlast polishes! They last so long!
ReplyDeleteI'll definitely have to try more. Let me know if you have any recommendations!
DeleteYes! I love Mint Mojito and Ever Reddy.
Deletelavender is my favorite pastel too. this covergirl looks nice!
ReplyDeleteI love purple and this is on my to get list now! good job CG for nice packaging too! I think it would be nice for you to do a review on the brushes of different nail polishes. I love essie brushes and how they apply because its nice for people with small nails, unlike OPI they have a thicker and fatter brush. This can be done overtime when you collect different nail polish from diff companies :D I have a lot of nail polishes and I would love to know how well the brush is for CG.
ReplyDeleteI have a ton of polishes too, and it's something I agree is really important so I try to include in my reviews! The CG brush was pretty easy to use and size-wise is in the middle. I didn't have any problems with application but my personal favorite brush is OPI's wider one since I can get a more even cuticle edge because you only need a couple swipes to cover the whole nail. :)
DeleteI love light purple color. I once thought of having that color hair style. But finally, I have no courage.

Hey Jen! I love your site. I was wondering if you could do a polish review of nude polishes for Asian skin tones. I am on the hunt for one, but the cosmetics industry doesn't seem to be catering to this yet and it is frustrating.
ReplyDeleteJen- the color is beautiful, but does it go on streaky? Nothing maddens me more than getting the perfect shade and having streak issues. It seems there is so much variability within lines of polish too. You can get one shade of Essie and have it apply like a dream, but get a different shade and it's streak city. I have a bottle of Essie in Peach Daiquiri from last year that still goes on brilliantly even a year later. But, I just bought Tart Deco from Essie, and I can't apply it to save my life (and I searched everywhere for that color too!). Sorry for airing my nail polish pet peeve on this blog (which I love and follow faithfully since joining!)
ReplyDeleteI didn't find this one to be streaky. I know a lot of pastels get that way but this one was fine. :)
DeleteHi Jen, my nails always turn yellow after applied color and left it for three days. how to avoid that problem?
ReplyDeleteJen, you should try the color "lingering spice" from this collection! Definitely a fall appropriate color! And you have to see it in person. None of the pictures online do it justice nor give it the right color at all. Just a really nice color to add to your collection, I promise! I'm so happy I bought it :) And Target is having a sale on Covergirl nail polishes for $4.69 :D
