Manicure Monday: Deborah Lippmann Blue Orchid

5:13 PM

Hey everyone! Today's Manicure Monday is another color from the Deborah Lippmann Spring 2014 collection of lovely pastels. I'm sure I've mentioned this several times before, but I adore pastel nail polish. It's such an easy way to wear "crazy" colors while still looking feminine and chic and today's manicure is a perfect example of that. Blue Orchid is the perfect cornflower blue the welcome the fresh spring days to come.

One of the things I like best about this particular pale blue is that it's not too minty or turquoise like a lot of shades I already own. It runs much more neutral and not too bright. Also the wear has been really amazing, not having any chips until nearly an entire week after application.

Here I used a base of OPI Nail Envy, 2 coats of Blue Orchid, and Seche Vite Top Coat to seal it all in. The coverage was impressive and didn't need too much fussing to get good opacity.

Overall I absolutely am in love with this color and have gotten several compliments on it this week. For those of you looking for a true sky blue shade without any green tones in it, you won't be disappointed with Blue Orchid. You can find this available now at Nordstrom, Sephora, and Neiman Marcus for $18.

  1. Totally adore this polish! It looks really nice on your skin tone as well <3
As for blues my favorite ones are mostly dark, navy blue polishes because I think they look the best with my skin color. I love pastels as well for the same reasons you've mentioned but they often tend to make my skin look dark in a weird way so I can't always wear them :(

  2. This blue is beautiful, and I like it so much since I'm in love with pastel colors, especially when vibrant. I'm currently wearing a vibrant peach color on my nails, and this looks like a perfect color for my next manicure! I really like your photos, by the way.

  3. This is such a pretty shade of blue! It really stands out against your skintone...in a good way! Unfortunately, pastel nail colors look terrible on my very yellow skintone! :(
