From opacity to ease of application to hydrating feel, it ticks off plenty of boxes as a favorite go-to lippy.
Hey all! Today I wanted to share with you another makeup collection in collaboration with Burberry and Sephora which was used in Burberry's February 2016 Womenswear show. I'm so excited to be partnering with Burberry, so wanted to send a big thank you to Burberry for sponsoring this blog post and sending me these to try out! As the designer label is known for, there is a mixture of luminous, wearable makeup with a bit of sparkly edge.
Who has dinky lashes? I have dinky lashes! I don't know about you, but anything that promises to plump up my puny lashes is worth a solid go for me so I was eager to test out Burberry's brand new Cat Lashes Mascara, a volumizing mascara that fans out lashes for a delicious cat-eye like effect. Thank you so much to Burberry and Sephora for partnering with me and sending me these beauties for me to share!
If any of you remember how gaga I went over Burberry's limited edition fragranced highlighting powder over the holidays, you will know why I wanted to dedicate a separate review post for these gorgeous face illuminating powders that Burberry has released for their Spring/Summer 2016 collection, available at Sephora. From the delicate lace pattern to the lovely formula the Runway Palettes are absolutely killing it in the luxury highlighting powder department. A huge thank you to Burberry and Sephora for partnering with me and sending me these beauties!
You guys know I've been on a big low-maintenance kick (what with being pregnant) and in terms of eye shadows, I'm all about something that is super easy to whip on, smudge in, and stay all day. That's why I was particularly interested in Burberry's new release of the Eye Colour Contour pens, which are now available at Sephora. As part of my partnership with Burberry, I love getting the inside scoop on their products and getting to share that with you all which is what I'll be doing today!
Hey everyone! I wanted to stop in and share my latest video with you showcasing how I achieve a radiant foundation look. With the popularity of K-beauty and a focus on skin looking healthy and luminescent versus the cakey, matte look of the past (Soooo over that. Anyone else?) I feel like there's been a resurgence of the glow.
I use a super simple trick plus a couple of easy-to-use products in this tutorial:
I use a super simple trick plus a couple of easy-to-use products in this tutorial:
PRODUCTS MENTIONED:
Liquid Luminizer | Burberry Fresh Glow Luminous Fluid Base in Nude Radiance No. 01
Concealer | Burberry Cashmere Concealer in Porcelain No. 01
Highlighting Pen | Burberry Fresh Glow Highlighting Luminous Pen
You can easily incorporate this into your regular routine with the mix-in trick, or if you like to be more exact you can do a layer of your regular foundation first, then use the mix just where you like it but for lazy me, I find the exact powdering to be enough for me.
Also, if you tend to have oily skin you can still achieve the glowing look, just use a more matte translucent powder and experiment with different foundation primers before you begin. I also found that using an oil-absorbing sheet immediately after powdering will absorb any access moisture within the foundation for longer. Since the "glow" is within the product, you should still retain the radiant finish.
I hope you guys found this helpful and I wanted to give a huge thank you to Burberry and Sephora for partnering with me for this video! Honestly, it's so exciting to finally see Burberry beauty at Sephora now after I've been fawning over it for the last couple of years!
Readers, let me know if you prefer a matte or glowing foundation in the comments and if you have any tips to share for achieving a luminescent look!

Today I wanted to share a few items from the Burberry Kisses family of lipsticks, glosses, and balms. As part of my partnership with the brand, I've been blessed to try so many amazing products from Burberry but I've got to admit their lip products totally stand out as being stars in the entire lineup. Gorgeous, luxurious, and totally wearable for the everyday woman, it's only natural that recently some of these have become my go-to lip products for a moisturizing feel for everyday. I have my designated lippies for when I want to make a statement but I also like something I can throw in a purse and pull out for an extra hint of color without too much fuss and I can say Burberry knows how to kill it in both arenas!
Burberry First Kiss Glossy Lip Balm
To start, the Burberry First Kiss Glossy Lip Balm which imparts a sheer and moisturizing layer of shine. The color on these is incredibly subtle but enhances the lips from their natural color, which is nice for lazy days. I also really like the porcelain tips which leave a cooling sensation during application! I loooove these but expect not to see drastic differences between colors on medium skintones since this is definitely a balmy product.
One of the questions I get asked most frequently in person is if I can teach how to contour for everyday wear. Although I've done contour and highlight tutorials separately in the past, it's just one of those makeup techniques that isn't necessarily straight up obvious and can seem intimidating or a hassle to do everyday.
The upside is that with contouring becoming ever so popular via the Kim Kardashian revolution, companies have also developed some really fantastic products that truly make the task so easy that it's quick and effective for everyday use. Hooray!
Today I wanted to share with you my everyday, totally do-able contour & highlight routine featuring the fantastic Burberry Effortless Face Contouring Pens which I had promised I'd do a tutorial showing you how I use. A little extra sculpting and lifting (using makeup which is painless, unlike surgery or exercise haha) never hurt nobody!
Hey everyone! As someone who is passionate about beauty and following dreams, I find it so important to seek out the perspectives of ladies who inspire us. Today I wanted to share with you Wendy Rowe, Burberry's Make-up Artistic Consultant who is a fountain of makeup wisdom and uses her talents to help develop products and visual direction for Burberry's runway looks each season. Dream job status, am I right? Not only is she an impressive #girlboss but is a truly charismatic and inspirational woman in person so I wanted to take my opportunity of collaborating with Burberry to interview her and get a peek inside her life!
As Burberry's Make-up Artistic Consultant, you have a big role in guiding the beauty look for a runway show -- what's your first step in that process?
It always begins with a conversation with Christopher Bailey and looking at the collection together. We talk about the ‘woman of the season’ and I then go away and do some research, come up with ideas which I then present to him. Christopher will tell me what he likes and dislikes until we realize his vision.
Ahh, London, how I adore you! The breathtaking architecture, the royal palaces, beautiful gardens, and of course the epicenter for the impeccably dressed during London Fashion Week. London just oozes history and charm and I was absolutely elated to join the Burberry team to experience it first hand.
Our trip started off with visiting Covent Garden to pop into the Burberry Beauty Box, a boutique featuring the entire Burberry Beauty range as well as fragrances and a scarf bar. I personally loved the giant My Burberry perfume bottle outside and wished I could take it home with me. :)
Hey guys! It's officially mid-November and I can't help but think to myself that time is traveling by extra-fast this month. Maybe it's because I've started preparing gifts for Christmas and, like last year, I am preparing to donate an item to the BeautyBloggers.org charity auction. I'll give more information about this year's auction closer to the starting date (Nov 28th) but as a little teaser, I am donating a very special lipstick this year. ;)
As I mentioned in the video, my favorite types of perfumes are fruity-florals and I try to avoid perfumes that have baby powdery scents and "old lady" classic perfume scents like the plague. They just don't work with my personal body chemistry and end up smelling very flat and unflattering.
I also appreciate adorable packaging like this cute DKNY Be Delicious apple! ^_^
Here are my top 5 altogether in their cute glass bottles.
Paris Hilton (2005)
Fragrance Notes: Frozen Apple, Peach Nectar, Wet Ozone, Sparkling Muguet, Freesia, Mimosa, Jasmine, Tuberose, Skin Musk, Sandalwood, Ylang Ylang, Oakmoss, Pheromone.
I'd describe this one as being "cute and sexy" on me. It's on the sweeter end of perfumes I like but it's great for a night out. It's purported secret ingredient is pheromone in case you want to bring all the boys to the yard.
Marc Jacobs Daisy (2007)
Fragrance Notes: Violet Leaves, White Woods, Strawberry, Gardenia, Ruby Red Grapefruit, Jasmine Petals, Violet Petals, Vanilla, Musk
This perfume is a lighter floral that is a bit preppy and appropriate for everyday. It's not too strong that it's distracting but it's still nice and put-together. I also find that this one doesn't seem to change on different people's skin as much as other perfumes, or maybe it just smells good on most people. The clean wearability reminds me of Clinique's Happy perfume and it's a good "starter" perfume for those new to fragrances.
L L.A.M.B. by Gwen Stefani (2007)
Fragrance Notes: Water Hyacinth, Violet, Fresh Pear, White Freesia, Jasmine, Muguet, Sweet Pea, Rose, Orange Blossom, Heliotrope, Peach
This perfume is one of my more sophisticated and heavier perfumes and has fresh, floral top notes but definitely has a cooler, muskier base to it that is more masculine than my other perfume picks. I like it for an elegant date night since it's very classy.
DKNY Be Delicious Fresh Blossom (2009)
Fragrance Notes: Apricot, Cassis, Grapefruit, Smooth Skin Accord, Blond Woods, Jasmine, Rose, Apple, Muguet
I really love this perfume as an everyday daytime fragrance. It's a bit sweet, floral, and feminine. The "Fresh Blossom" name originally scared me since I usually stay away from heavy florals but it's actually quite light and I absolutely love undertones of apple in it. It's a really nice balance of florals without trying too hard.
Some honorable mentions I wanted to include are:
Burberry Brit Sheer
A fresh, fruity floral that I don't own yet but want! I recall it being slightly more citrusy than my other loves, which I enjoy.
Salvatore Ferragamo Incanto Shine
Lacoste Essential
Clean, fresh, long-lasting, and sliiiightly citrusy without losing any masculinity in the process. Ugh, so sexy. I die. This is my current favorite cologne.
For today's video I wanted to share some of my very favorite perfumes in a fun tag:

D&G 3 L'Imperatrice (2009)
Fragrance Notes: kiwi, watermelon, musk, pink cyclamen
From Sephora, "3 L'Imperatrice is a confident, charismatic, boundary-shattering blend with a top of rhubarb, kiwi accord, and red currant; a heart of pink cyclamen, watermelon, and jasmine; and a base of musk, sandalwood, and grapefruit wood."
I don't know if I would call this boundary-shattering but it's certainly the first scent I've ever felt wholeheartedly connected with, like we stared each other down and we knew it was meant to be. From the first application through the dry-down, I absolutely adore this perfume. On me, the rhubarb-watermelon notes really come through and smells to my nose like sparkling strawberry mixed with cherry blossom. It's sweet and sophisticated at the same time and I never feel like its wearing me. On the contrary, when I wear this I find myself constantly smelling my wrists and thinking I wish I could smell like this all the time! Although this line of D&G perfumes claim to be unisex, this one is definitely NOT for guys. Come on, it's pink for goodness's sake!
The one downfall is that the scent disappears pretty quickly (3 hours max on me) so it takes reapplication throughout the day to keep the scent lingering. It also doesn't have as much depth on my friends or sister, so it really has to work with the chemistry of the wearer. For me, 3 is my #1 perfume love!

Salvatore Ferragamo Incanto Shine
This one reminds me a bit of the Paris Hilton perfume. It's on the sweeter side but it's very fresh and lovely. It doesn't last too long on me though, unfortunately.
J'adore Dior
I love the sample of this I have but won't buy the full size until I run out. It's a fresh floral that is sexy, sophisticated, and very lady-like. This is another date night at a nice restaurant kind of perfume for me.

Victoria's Secret Very Sexy For Him 2
Both Very Sexy For Him and Very Sexy For Him 2 are very sexy but 2 is a bit cleaner and lighter for day-wear. It's my original fav scent on hubby and I can't imagine this would smell bad on any guy, it's that good.

This is another scent that I think would smell good on every male. Very clean, very sexy, very I-smell-hot-but-I-don't-try-too-hard. Hubby also has the deodorant of this and I swear to you, his t-shirt pits smell fantastic.
I hope this was informative if you have a similar nose to myself or if you are in the market for a new scent! Let me know in the comments what your favorite perfume is (and why, if you can describe it) as well as your favorite cologne... Who knows, maybe hubby can find something new too!
:)
