Behind the Scenes: Makeup for Erin Kathleen Couture Shoot
6:13 PMAs you may or may not know I do a bit of freelance makeup artistry on the weekends. I've had a few people ask to see makeup that I've done on others so I decided that I'll start integrating a few of those into blog entries so you guys can see some snippets of my work.
This shoot was for Erin Kathleen Couture's Fall 10 collection and she had 3 models that she wanted me to make look classic and fresh. I've worked with Erin before and she gathers tear sheets in her binder of what look she's going for, which makes my job easy! The makeup needed to look clean and beautiful to bring out the gorgeous pieces in her collection.
All three girls had the same look with natural light brown colors on the eyes and warm pink on the lips and cheeks with a glowy complexion.
I will say that I have a terrible time remembering to take proper "before" shots so in this before the model already has concealer on. ;)
This model, I learned, actually went to elementary school with my husband back in the day and married a guy who I graduated high school with! Small world.
The hairstylist worked on one model while I did makeup on the other side on another.
The girls were all super nice and lighthearted and come on, it's easy to make girls who are already beautiful inside and out look photo-ready. I know I always find before and after pics fascinating so I hope you all enjoyed seeing this little behind the scenes look at one of my makeup gigs!

ReplyDeletethe makeup looks natural and lovely! can i ask what brand/shade of lipstick you used for the first model?
ReplyDeleteVictoria: I made the concealer lighter than their skin so that they would look extra bright and glowy! It doesn't look too extreme in professional photography. ;)

I'm sure you've forgotten by now, but any chance you remember what lipstick the first model is wearing? I love that color!
ReplyDeleteAriel: They are wearing NYX Round lipstick in "Doll". It's one of my favorite lipsticks since it looks good on most clients. ^.^
