Boston Vlog! Oysters, Owls and Falling Over
6:53 PMAhh, I love looking back through vacation pics and reliving all the good memories of being there! I finally was able to gather all of my pics from my short Boston trip and some vlogging clips that I randomly took. :D
I hope that from this video, you can see how much fun I had not in just "getting away" to a different city, but enjoying all of the little things along the way from subways to shabu, outlet malls, and owls. Hehehe.
Our view of the coast from the plane.
First meal the evening we got in. Shabu with gorgeous Jean of Extra Petite! Steam in our faces!
Drool... Look at all that food!
Me being a novice at shabu-ing. I only had it once before in Korea years ago and this was pretty different.
The next morning we got up bright and early for outlet shopping. LOL!
Me, Hannah, Jean. You know we are so pro at posing. Work it, girl~
Trying on pretty lacy things in the fitting room. See how ginorm these are?
We both bought it anyway to alter. Check out Jean's beautiful post-altered dress here.

Caught up with petite blogger Vicky while outlet shopping!
Judging by this photo, would you believe we are all 5' and under?
Went to a seafood stop afterwards to satiate my desire to try raw oysters for the first time!
These guys are shucking our yummy meal. \o/
Jean documenting the action like a good blogger.
Soooo goood!
Our plate. I would describe the taste as being similar to boiled shrimp dipped in cocktail sauce. YUMS!
Digging in and blinged out with all my silver rings. :D
Homg, this was the RIDICULOUSLY good clam roll and onion rings. Wow. I am drooling just looking at this photo again. I'm not even a huge seafood person (I thought) but maybe I just never had this kind of seafood before. I'm totally a convert now!
In contrast, this is back to my snapshot camera with a more true-to-life depiction of how the slurping action actually went down. I got better at it the more I ate. XD
Dinner at Bon Chon Chicken which I had heard so much about. Crazy 1 hour+ wait, but goodness that fried chicken is to die for. O_O
Hannah had an internship in Boston a couple years ago and told me about this amazing clam chowder at Joe's American Bar & Grill. The bread bowl, people! It's excruciatingly soft, flaky, warm.... Happiness in food form. Definitely did not disappoint.
Pretty pretty presentation of our salad with seared tuna. Ughhhh, so good!
Another day in our hotel room, being silly after getting ready in the morning.
Met up with Jean again for lunch at Shabu Zen #2 in China Town. We conquered our food and also the nearby H&M shortly after this photo was taken. And almost fell a few times in the crowded subway on the way back. Maybe you caught on Twitter a funnier version of this photo? ;)
Obligatory touristy photo in front of the church at Copley Square. Such ornate architecture! I love.
And, I will leave you with one last photo of the ending of my last meal in Boston. A slice of the most amazing chocolate cake I've tasted in my life, courtesy of our charismatic waiter at Joe's. The best clam chowder, and I can verifiably also say the best chocolate cake. We ate half and finished it on the plane ride home because it was gigantic. ^____^
Eeeee, the trip was so wonderful I can't even tell you! I haven't taken a proper vacation in almost 3 years so this was a super fun getaway of just eating really great food, shopping, and spending time with some of my favorite girls. <3 <3 <3
Thank you so much to Hannah for letting me tag along with you and do extracurricular blogging along the way, and also to Jean (and "petite asian boy") for welcoming us into your place and showing us around your city. It wouldn't have been nearly as much fun without you. BIG HUGS!

Everyone is so lovely and friendly there when I go...think they love the British accent! Boston looks so beautiful from your vblog. Oh, Jen. It was so much fun watching the video and going through all the pictures and commentaries. I LOVE Boston! My best friend lives there and it is one of my favorite places. Rock and Republic beauty was on sale at Hautelook today and I used your link and bought eyeshadows in Vintage and Carat and lipglosses in Muse and Alpha Blonde. Excited about trying them because of your recommendations! I recall you mentioning an orange lips tutorial in your March Hits and Misses. Any chance you'll be putting that up soon?
ReplyDeleteJen! U should totally share how you packed your makeup, I mean what's in ur makeup bag video! I'm sure many girls would love to see. <> lol

ReplyDeleteHi Jen!I've been your all-time follower and I'm currently living in Boston. Even being a Bostonian for years, I've never heard of the Joe's place, do you mind telling me where that is? And I also wonder where that seafood shop located at. I wish I've just bumped into you guys on the streets when you wouldn't even know who I am haha. The town that Bon Chon located at is acutally known as the Little Korea, you should try some of the other restaurants down there next time you come again:)
