March Hits & Misses

8:06 PM

Whoo, April has gotten off the a super busy start! I can't believe how quickly this year is going by, seriously. I can barely even catch my breath. *wipes brow* I can't complain because I am a firm believer that it is better to be too busy than not busy enough.

I realized that I've tried quite a few new things recently so as promised, here is my very first Hits & Misses video, for the month of March.

Products mentioned:
Cargo Blu-ray HD powder in shades 20 and 30
Physicians Formula Mineral Wear blush in Blushing Glow
Lioele Crystal Muse Lipstick in #3 Juicy Orange
Lioele Blooming Gloss in Orange Sherbet
Lioele Dollish Vita Veil BB in purple
Origins VitaZing
Josie Maran My Favorite Argan Powders Palette
Josie Maran Natural Wonder Powder Palette

I realize that I didn't do a very good review of the Cargo powder because I literally didn't realize I had been using the wrong shade until I had started recording (oops, switched the packaging). I had been fully prepared to be all "oh hecks no" but I've been testing out 20 lately and it's been surprisingly good. I'll keep testing it more, so maybe it will make an encore appearance in my next Hits & Misses vid. ;)

Also, I'm not sure why I never realized I had such... interesting recording ticks. Does anyone else do that? I mean, I always had my "ummm"s and "so..." and "like" but seriously, duck face and lip smacking? *face palm*

LOL!

Anyway, I'm leaving for a little half-week vacay so I've got to go pack for my flight in the morning but I hope you enjoyed watching! I'll definitely try to make this a monthly thing as much as possible. I've already started a metal list of what will be included on the next one. ^_^

Just for kicks, tell me in the comments if you have a "tick" when you speak publicly or while recording yourself. Please tell me. Just so I don't feel like I'm the only one. XD

  6. I really want to try that Josie Maran palette now. The Cargo powder in 30 turns out to be surprisingly too dark on me, too. When I tried it out I remember catching a glimpse of my reflection and getting surprised lol. I think it changes color after application and actually gets darker! Hopefully the 20 works out. I'm looking forward to that review!

  8. Nice video. I wanted to try Josie products but was hesitant because I didn't want to pay so much for something I might not like. Then ending is very very cute!

  12. Hi Jen,

I'm definitely not an expert when it comes to makeup so I always love watching your tutorials/videos. I tried your lion look for Halloween and it was a big hit; I'll have to find a picture and send it to you. So thank you :)

When it comes to public speaking, I always *always* brush my hair back from my face like...a thousand times in 10 minutes :/ and when I'm nervous, I stutter like crazy and all words just escape me :(

  16. I stumbled upon your blog after looking up makeup tips for monolids and I have to say, you are a revelation! I used to have so much fun doing my makeup, experimenting with colours, but working as a nurse (and not wanting to get up at 530am to do make up for a 7am shift) I just lost touch with the side of me that liked to look pretty and have fun with fashion and makeup. So thanks! I'm getting married in August and will be using your makeup wedding tutorial (been practicing!) Will let you know how that goes. Especially thanks for the bra fitting video. I sent the link to all my less mammary blessed friends :). Keep doing what you're doing please! Would love if you have some info on vegan/cruelty free/eco friendly products (I'm vegetarian, leaning towards veganism)
