Mall of America Haul!

8:16 PM

Hey guys! A few weeks ago I took a little roadtrip break to Minneapolis, MN which is home to the infamous Mall of America. I'm talking about the largest mall in the US! Literally, there is a Nickelodeon theme park in the middle of this mall, it's so huge. I had lots of fun shopping so I hope you enjoy seeing what I got while I was there too. ^__^

Products mentioned:
Abercrombie Kids pants (Current style is "Audrey")
Forever 21 orange skirt
Forever 21 blush pleated skirt
Forever 21 orange shawl neckline cardigan (similar here and here)
Forever 21 navy chiffon blouse (similar here and here)
Ann Taylor animal pint belt (calfhair here)
Ann Taylor green scarf (similar green here and here)
H&M orange belt (similar here and studded here)
Banana Republic chartreuse lace blouse
Ikea scarf organizer (could also use a tie hanger)
Ikea Alex cabinet

I also forgot to add in my video that I stopped by Nordstrom Rack and picked up a pair of these cute Kate Spade rainboots for about $75 (orig $150)!

I LOVE the bow on the side as well as the small heel and the toe isn't too boxy so it has a nice overall sleek shape in comparison to most rainboots. The rubber is also thinner and more pliable than other rainboots I've tried on which makes them slightly lighter and easier to walk in. If you can find them on sale I'd definitely pick them up!

So what do you think? Should I keep the orange blazer and alter the shoulder pads or return it?

Let me know in the comments if you ever went to the Mall of America and what you thought!

  2. The orange skirt actually looks great with what you're currently wearing!

If you like the style that "shawligan" (that's what I like to call them LOL), I have a similar one from UO that I got on sale. It comes in a few colours: pink, green, cream, blush, blue, etc. You should check it out! I'm wearing a size small here. : )

omg! I saw that H&M belt in another colour...didn't realize it was adjustable. Gonna check it out this weekend. :D

  3. I say yes keep that blazer! I love that shade of orange on you. If you think the shoulder pads are too big on you I think the blazer would still cute without it!

  4. I love the color of the blazer but the shoulder pads do look a little big on you!

  6. Maybe you can do a little DIY with the shoulder pads and change them to smaller shoulder pads? The color is a great pop of orange and definitely a keeper!

Glad you were able to get such a variety of colors and styles for such great prices! Yay!

  7. Keep the blazer, but toss the shoulder pads. I love the chiffon blouse! I just bought a similar one last week in burnt orange at H&M for only $10!! (I wanted the one in the floral print, but of course, they were sold out in my size on the very first day the shipment came in...:(). Good fall haul!

  8. I think the blazer looks great on you! If the shoulder pads really bother you though, maybe try removing them?

I was wondering how often do you wear double eyelid tape/false eyelashes. Is it everyday?

Keep up the great work! I LOVE reading your blogs and watching your videos! They're so helpful and cute!

  9. Camp Snoopy was WAY better than Nickelodeon Universe, I promise. Also, did you check out the aquarium while you were there? I know they just renamed that since it changed hands, but it's cool to walk through the tunnels in the tanks.

I'm a Minneapolis native, so you can assume I've been there plenty. ;)

As for the blazer, in my opinion, shoulder pads look good in very few situations. It's a cute blazer, but it'll look cuter if those shoulder pads can be fixed or ripped out.

  10. I like the blazer because of the colour and the shape, it adds a little pop to the look. But if you eventually decide to keep it, you should definitely alter the shoulder pads. That way, it fits you perfectly.

  11. Love these haul videos...to be honest I think the orange "blazer" should go back. There are better ones out there if you like the style (e.g. the one that Extra Petite got from H&M; http://www.extrapetite.com/2011/09/in-stores-now-h-crop-pants-and-cascade.html)

And LOVEEE the Kate Spade rainboots...I have the exact same pair (except in cream/white). You got them for a great price :)

  19. I LOVE the color of the blazer and the general shape, but the shoulders are a bit too wide & the pads a bit too large. If only they were a touch narrower!

I agree with the others...the blazer looks cute but maybe without the shoulder pads.

  21. Being originally from MN, I now really miss being able to go the the MoA just to hang out. It's so huge that you can just walk for miles and take in the sights. It's the best place to waste time haha! Of course, it has a lot of cool stores and events too.

  22. I agree with everyone else... The blazer looks great on you! If you can take the shoulder pads out, definitely keep. :)

  27. I must get my hands on this H&M belt!! *____* I wonder if it's also available in other colors, though. Definitely need to check out on is.

    I think you should keep the blazer since it looks fab on you! Seriously! ^^ However, I agree with the rest, you should remove the shoulder pads because they're just so 80s. lol ^O^;;

  30. OMG I've the same experience at Abercrombie, it's so weird that they mark up so much just for a belt or some other decoration when it's the same pants, but $10 is awesome. I love being able to shop for bottoms their because it's so cheap. You should also try Zara Girl, it's half the price of the women's section, but the quality and look is still amazing!

  31. Am I the only one that think that the orange blazer looks perfect on you as it is? The shoulder pads look good on you since you're petite...on me it would look funny since I already have broad shoulders to begin with, but on you it looks great!
I really liked the chino trousers, they fit you perfectly and look really comfy :)

  32. I like the orange blazer on you. I think the color and general style look great. The shoulder pads make it look a little more formal and structured, while without the the pads it would look a lot more casual. Is there anyway you can take the shoulder pads out if you don't like them?

    ReplyDelete
  33. I have similar skirt than you accept mine is blue and bought in different store. All I can say about blazer is that I absolutely love the front part (cascading waves or waterfall) the shoulder pads don't bother me it is the color (I don't like it but if you like it you should definitely wear it because it looks lovely on you) :)
