Away We Happened FINALE: Episode 6!

After 2 long months of working hard and busting our butts, the finale of Away We Happened is finally here! This is definitely one of my favorite episodes in the whole series and, more than the others, I think the episode takes you on its own journey. A lot of you had been asking for longer episodes so this one is about twice as long as the previous ones too. :)

If you need to catch up on past episodes, here they are:
Ep 1:
Ep 2:
Ep 3:
Ep 4:
Ep 5:

We really wanted to make the finale good for you all so I hope you enjoy it!
You can check out the finale video below:

Inevitably, after the misunderstandings of the last episode, Daniel and Jean are both a bit conflicted on what to do next.

Clothes & Jewelry Haul with Promise Phan!

Hey everyone! Today I have a shopping haul that I wanted to share with you along with Promise Phan, the incredibly talented makeup guru who does sick makeup transformations on Youtube! She's a good friend of mine so when we had some time we stopped by the mall in Santa Monica and got our haul on. ;)

Away We Happened: Episode 5!

Hi everyone! Episode 5 of Away We Happened is definitely more emotionally charged compared to the last few episodes. Sometimes in relationships, we can misread so many things that start small but turn into something much larger than we anticipated and this episode is a great example of that. Awkward circumstances, more awkward circumstances, then huge misunderstandings.

Check out the episode below:

My favorite parts of this episode were both of Daniel's scenes with different characters because of how deliciously awkward it was. First, there is the elevator scene where he first runs into Jeremy. Sometimes it can be uncomfortable enough riding on an elevator with someone who seems to be in an impatient mood, but even more so when you have been in a funk yourself.

The opposite corners of this elevator look so interesting!

The second awkward instance was when Daniel meets the old lady. She was so sweet and just wanted a visitor! I think Daniel should have gone in for some tea. :D

I'm actually... not a visitor. But I am looking for a hot date? You should come with me.

I have to say that this episode was the most challenging one so far just because it was really emotionally draining. As I've said before, this is my first real acting experience so it was a new thing for me to spend hours arguing with someone. Real or fake, it's amazing how much it can pull at your energy levels. I have a new-found respect for the actors and actresses who do this everyday.

We just got done filming the finale episode the last couple of days so it should be up sometime next week. Until then, I will leave you to answer the questions at the end of this week's episode:

Who do you think is right or wrong?
Is it over between Daniel and Jean?

Film & Photography Makeup - Away We Happened Tutorial

Hi everyone! Today I finally have another makeup tutorial to share with you. As you know, I've been super busy these last few weeks working on Away We HappenedOne of the most important aspects of filming so regularly has, of course, been the makeup and looking ideal for the cameras. Since it's my first time acting on film, there have been many things that I've learned from trial and error with my hair, skin, nails, fashion, and everything in between so I want to pass on what I've learned to you. I'll start with makeup and then deal with skincare at a later time (Just as a warning, my skin has been going INSANE since I came out to LA so I'll have a lot to talk about on that subject).

Many of you have been requesting the makeup look that I've worn for the series and I've also been meaning to do a tutorial for "photo day" makeup, so I thought I'd kill two birds with one stone.

Check out my tutorial below for tips on how to look perfect when the cameras are rolling!

Away We Happened: Episode 4!

Eeeeeeeeeeee! This week's episode of Away We Happened was by far my favorite. Jean and Daniel finally get to meet and their impromptu date ends up being really sweet and pretty hilarious thanks to Victor's antics. You want to see the famous B-boy dance, right? Well some of his *ahem* best dance moves were showcased here. ;)

Here's Episode 4 below:

Watch the episode first if you don't want SPOILERS!!

So Jean and Daniel finally get their bags back this episode but lo and behold, who do we have here? It's Big Edgar! Look at his cute little arms flopping over the tape! Ahhhh, Wong Fu's line of Awkward Animals totally get my heartstrings every time. I think I'm going to beg the guys to let me adopt all of them. :p

During recording, Vic and I had soooo much fun posing for the cheesiest selcas. I'm pretty sure this was the tamest of the bunch considering I taught him the chubby bunny, heart hands, devil horns, uh oh, face punch, etc. Very Kdrama, am I right?

This is the 4-horn blue steel my face hurts pose

Can everyone give a big round of applause (or you know, ponder inside your heart while reading the computer screen) for Wes's breathtaking cinematography? The sun sets on its own schedule so we were literally running trying to get the shots in on time. It's funny how thoughtful and slow each scene was but then between takes we sprinted to reset. It paid off though. Nobody can deny how beautiful the hilltop scene was.

For this episode, I wore a mint sequin tank from J. Crew which I bought a few months ago, but J. Crew has similar offerings in citron and cream as well as nautical stripes, which I love. On top I wore a light wash denim jacket that I've had for years. Luckily, denim is very much in style right now so you can find one for your price point from Forever 21, ASOS, and Topshop. My J. Brand legging jeans are a wardrobe favorite which I bought on discount from Hautelook (my invite if you haven't joined). To finish the look I wore a pair of Report espadrilles which you can find similar dupes of from Via Spiga, Steve Madden, and Kohl's (which look exactly like this more expensive Stuart Weitzman pair).

I hope you guys enjoyed the episode! Let me know your answers to this week's questions in the comments:

How will Daniel react to the letter?
What is Jean and Jeremy's history?

Away We Happened: NYC to LA Vlog

Hi everyone! As I mentioned in my May Favorites video, I recorded some vlog footage as I was in New York City and LA filming the pilot episode of Away We Happened with Wong Fu Productions.

This is the first time I had met the Wong Fu Production team as well as Victor Kim, my co-star, so it was a very exciting and eye-opening trip for me. The sets were quite bustling and a lot of people and work went into each and every shot. I wanted to share my behind-the-scenes experience of the process, so I hope you enjoy getting a closer view of my experience below! :)

Away We Happened: Episode 3!

Eeeeeeeeee! I was SO excited to watch today's episode of Away We Happened since this week we did filming completely separately and I didn't get to watch Victor and Ki Hong Lee's scenes. I did get to read the script of course, but the performance was so much funnier in real life!

Check out Episode 3 below:

If you didn't see the previous episodes, check out Episode 1 and Episode 2 first!

My favorite part of filming this episode was definitely my solo "dance party" which I 50% predicted in my last AWH blog entry. So sad that my girl Amy Okuda couldn't be dancing with me this time, but there is always room for suggestions at, right? ;)

Jean's dancing talent overwhelms even the pickiest dance connoisseurs. I also write my own captions.

Speaking of dance party, one of the takes I got so into the moves that I actually did trip and fall flat on my butt in a very non-graceful manner. That floor was slippery! Just imagine me doing that scene over and over again, doing all sorts of touchdown-style fist pumps in 4-inch heels. HAHA!

Phil of Wong Fu was like, "Go all out, don't hold back," and I'm all, "No don't worry, I got this."
Hi, my name is Jen and I have no shame.

Oh hey, Edgar? Did you protect my notebook?

For those of you asking about where I got my outfit, my top is from Ann Taylor last year. You can find a nearly identical breton striped top from Juicy Couture or this more affordable option from Forever 21. The skirt is by BB Dakota and there are plenty of similar peplum skirts like this Topshop one or this by ASOS. My heels are by Nine West with similar options from Lauren by Ralph Lauren and one of my favorite shoe brands Michael Michael Kors. I also love the cutout of this Romantic Soles option as well.

So the episode concludes with the questions:

What should Daniel say when he meets Jean?
What should he bring her?

May Beauty Favorites!

Another month has gone by which means it's time for another beauty favorites video! Since I came out to LA, some of my favorites this month have been things that have been working well for me in the drier weather out here. I also have a new favorite everyday blush, eyeshadow, and a nail polish that I've been wearing a lot.
