May Beauty Favorites!
11:23 PMAnother month has gone by which means it's time for another beauty favorites video! Since I came out to LA, some of my favorites this month have been things that have been working well for me in the drier weather out here. I also have a new favorite everyday blush, eyeshadow, and a nail polish that I've been wearing a lot.
To check out the video click below!
PRODUCTS MENTIONED:
Neutrogena Healthy Skin Liquid Foundation in 60 Natural Beige
Sephora Tea Tree Blotting Paper (similar/similar)
Make Up For Ever Duo Mat Powder Foundation in 203
Benefit Coralista Blush
Mario Badescu Lip Wax
L'Occitane Original Hand Cream (Rose/Cherry Blossom)
Zoya Sienna Nail Polish (similar China Glaze Riveting)
MAC Vex Eyeshadow
ON ME:
J. Crew mint sequin top (similar/similar/similar)
J. Crew cashmere cardigan
Jewelry is from ebay and Hautelook (invite)
Nail polish is Zoya Sienna
It's funny because a lot of my favorites this month are products that I've had for a while but they never really had their time in the sun. I think I avoided this Coralista blush by Benefit for a long time (I bought it last year) because I had so many other similar blushes.
After trying out Hervana (mentioned in my January favorites) and really enjoying it though, I finally used Coralista and just as tons of other ladies have said, it's a beautiful and easy-to-wear blush that runs pinky-peach with golden shimmer. It's really perfect for the summertime! The smell is also really similar to Hervana so if you enjoy that one you will probably like this too.
I have also been LOVING this Mario Badescu Lip Wax. The name is a bit misleading because the texture is definitely more of an oil than a wax since it melts upon contact with your lips. It feels very moisturizing, plus it has SPF 15 and isn't drying over time like a lot of menthol lip balms are. It's $7 so it's more than drugstore lip balms but less than other department store lip balms and conditioners. I've been using it everyday lately and it's been keeping my lips plump and hydrated.
As I mentioned at the end of my video, I've been super busy working with Wong Fu Productions on Away We Happened so if you have any beauty-related requests for the series I was thinking maybe I'd do a video. Would any of you like to see a makeup tutorial for the look I've been doing for the series? Or even just film and photo-ready makeup in general? Let me know in the comments. :)

Hi Jen! Could you do a video using cream/stick blushes? i'm thinking of getting the Skin79 Oriental Gold Plus BB Cream with the blush but wasn't sure if using cream/stick blushes is a good idea.
ReplyDeleteHmm it really depends on which you use. Some don't last very long and some are nice. They are really good on people with drier skin!
DeleteIt's very beautiful pic and very interesting video. you can check my blog it's also interesting aboutsapphirejewelry.com and sapphireengagementring.info.. i hope you will enjoy.
ReplyDeleteHi Jen, what lip color/brand are you wearing in this video? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHi Jen! I would love if you could do a tutorial on the look you've been wearing for the Wong Fu mini series. I just finished the last episode (#3) and can't wait for the next!
ReplyDeleteL'Occitane Original Hand Cream is the best nice favorites Jen!

I love the L'Occitane lotion but at $25 a tube, it is a splurge. But it makes my hands so smooth and soft. Cali weather is very dry and brutal to your skin. Don't forget the most important beauty tip: Hydrate by drinking lots of water!
ReplyDeleteYour blog is amazing! So inspiring.
ReplyDeleteI hope you visit me and we can follow each other if you like. I'd be so glad.

Hi, Jen, I found you because of your monolid tutorials on youtube! I love, love, love your orange nail color and now I want to get it (I've been rocking watermelon pink this week). Last year found the Neutrogena healthy skin foundation you mentioned (in #10 classic ivory) and I thought maybe I was in love because it didn't break me out either + it has good SPF. I wear it with skin79 oriental BB cream + concealer and my skin has a light enough finish so that I don't look cakey but then I still have good coverage.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the shares and I'll have to keep checking back, you have such good taste!
Jen, what date are you going to the IMATS?
ReplyDeleteHopefully Sunday!
DeleteHi Jen, any chance you would be looking into doing a product review for at-home shellac/gel nails? I just got an email from Sephora saying they have this kit available (partnership with OPI) that includes the UV lamp, the base and top coats, plus you get to choose your first colour free! I'd love to hear your comments, especially if it'll make my manicures last the 2 weeks it says it will! (my nails often start chipping by Day 2 or 3 if I'm super lucky!
ReplyDeleteThanks a bunch!
Possibly... but I do like to change my nail polish about once every week so I may get impatient! ;)
DeleteWas just in Santa Monica and LOVED it there~ I personally loved this video just cause it was taken outdoors~!!
