I think Essence is a good brand because their products have a good quality even if they are cheap.
ReplyDeleteI love maybelline blusher and NYX lip collection:)
ReplyDelete1. I find some brands beat others depending on specific product so it's hard to choose, but overall, L'Oreal (with Revlon coming in a close second)
ReplyDelete2. What are your favorite face, cheek and lip products?
FACE- Maybelline FIT Me foundation (although I don't really use drugstore foundation)
CHEEK- Revlon (the shimmery baked blush)
LIP- Revlon Lip Butter in Tutti Frutti (lipstick); L'Oreal Glam Shine lipgloss; Revlon lip liner in Rose
3. Least favorite product?
Maybelline eyeshadow in Vanilla
4. What is the best makeup bargain?
New York Color eyebrow powder set
5. What is your favorite underdog product? (Something you love that often gets overlooked?)
L'Oreal True Match Touche Magique concealer, L'Oreal Lineur Intense liquid eyeliner
6. A drugstore product that is overpriced?
any of those oscillating mascaras lol
7. Show your best drugstore dupe(s)!!
n/a
8. Drugstore product that isn't worth the hype?
Covergirl Lashblast, it's never done a thing for me. Also I've met a ton of people who love Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse (in the compact) and I find the formula difficult to match, and even with primer it still looks bad.
LOL, yes! Those oscillating mascaras were so expensive and gimmicky!
DeleteMy favorite drugstore brands are NYX, Maybelline, and Wet N Wild.
ReplyDeleteMost of my makeup comes from Sephora, however Essie nail polish and Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters are my go to drugstore products. Ones not worth the hype would be any mascara from CoverGirl or Maybelline.
ReplyDeleteI love the milani liquif-eye pencils too. but I never seem to be able to find the black one... :(
ReplyDeleteI'll always be loyal to Maybelline and l'oréal for mascaras! I really wish I could find the wet n wild gel liner near me.

I've heard the Maybelline Gel liner is actually awesome too! Maybe you can try that one out. :)
DeleteI'm actually using that one currently! It's always tough with the monolids though...
DeleteUs monolidders have to stick together :)
I'm with MuShii, my favourite drug store products come from Essence. They're dirt cheap, possibly 1/7th the price of Revlon products. I love their blushes and eyeshadows, such vibrant colours. Also, they're the ONLY drugstore brand here that stocks eyeshadow primer.
ReplyDeletemy favorite brand would be Maybelline's and Revlon...I like Za on my face.
ReplyDeletemy least favorite would be L'oreal because i always find it to be oily and triggers acne on my skin.brand that i find is always fine but usually overlook would be, In2It. and i think Za products is always overpriced too.meanwhile the drugstore make up that is not worth the hype would be the Silky Girl, i do not know if you ever heard it but, it is everywhere in Malaysia and if im not mistaken it is licensed under L'oreal.
My favorite drugstore make up is Maybelline, well for mascara and eyeliner. I'm using the Maybelline Gel eyeliner and its good! I'll check the wet and wild gel liner. Milani and Nyx are not available here in our country, have to buy online which will make it cost more because of the shipping. Anyway, thanks for sharing your favorite drugstore makeups! :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite drugstore is Sephora. All my skincare products and makeup products are bought there.

Jen, have you seen the new Revlon nail art moon candy? Haven't tried it yet, but it looks like fun!
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen it in person yet!
Deleteyou talk about the Wet n Wild gel liner so much, I feel like I must try it!

Jen, I love your necklace! Do you know where I could find something like that with the triangles--doesn't have to be the same color.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a huge fan of the Maybelline Gel Liner but that's just bc my eyes get easily irritated and these dry my eyelids out. I've heard that the new L'oreal one has similar consistency to Bobbi Brown's.
1. What is your favorite drugstore makeup brand?
Revlon, Milani, NYX, Wet n Wild, Sonia Kashuk
2. What are your favorite face, cheek and lip products?
Face: Maybelline Superstay and Age Rewind concealers. Opaque and comparable to higher end stuff.
Cheek: NYX Blush in Desert Rose
Lip: Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in Rosey Nude
3. Least favorite product? Drugstore foundation. I think I've given up on them working on me. If the color isn't off, it oxidizes, or goes on a meltdown. Or, has an ingredient that I'm sensitive to. Or emphasizes flakes and pores I didn't know I had. Or just awful.
4. What is the best makeup bargain?
Wet N Wild nail polishes--perfect application for less than 2 bucks a pop.
5. What is your favorite underdog product? (Something you love that often gets overlooked?) Kiss my Face lip balm spf 15. No one talks about these!
6. A drugstore product that is overpriced?
Physicians formula powders--I heard they went up in price recently.
7. Show your best drugstore dupe(s)!!
The Sonia Kashuk lip crayons are similar to NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencils. Different color range but that velvety texture is there.
8. Drugstore product that isn't worth the hype?
Agreed on Covergirl Lashblast. They don't clump but that's the only thing I like about them. They uncurl my curled lashes.
I love the Wet N wild gel liner too! I did hear good things about the maybelline gel liners. Are they safe to use on the waterline like the Bobbi Brown gel liner?Physicians formula products are overpriced for a drugstore brand. The product not worth the hype for me was the Sonia Kashuk concealer palette. My favorite drugstore brand overall would have to be Loreal.
ReplyDeleteWe don't get NYX in the UK which is a real bummer! My favourite high street make up brand is definitely Max Factor or boujoius!

Really wish we had covergirl where I live!

What color do you recommend for the NYX blush powder?
ReplyDeleteI really love Pinky blush!
DeleteJen, love your tutorials! Can you do one of your make up in this video? I love your eye make up!
ReplyDeleteThis is actually the look that I did in this tutorial: http://www.frmheadtotoe.com/2012/12/simple-1-color-smokey-eye-tutorial.html
DeleteHope that helps!
Jen, where did you get your shirt?
ReplyDeleteIt was from Ann Taylor from a past season. :)
DeleteHi Jen! Love this!Specially the dupes! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHi Jen! What lipstick are you wearing in this video? It looks so lovely on you.
ReplyDeleteooops sorry Nevermind! I hadn't watched the video fully, got too excited about it and asked you :)
ReplyDelete1. What is your favorite drugstore makeup brand?
ReplyDeleteRevlon, ZA, Bourjois, Maybelline & Majolica Majorca.
2. What are your favorite face, cheek and lip products?
Face - ZA Two-Way Foundation
Cheek - L'Oreal Cheek Delice (discontinued)
Lip - Revlon Lip Butter in Sweet Tart
3. Least favorite product?
Majolica Majorca's Lash King. The chemical smell of it makes my eyes water all day, and I gagged quite a few times.
4. What is the best makeup bargain?
Bourjois Metallise Liner in Bleu Clinquant & Maybelline Lashionista at a discount!
5. What is your favorite underdog product? (Something you love that often gets overlooked?)
Clio Kill Black Pen Liner, Majolica Majorca's Enamel Neo & Lash Expander Mascaras, ZA Concealer Perfection.
6. A drugstore product that is overpriced?
L'Oreal's eyeliners - I think I can buy a MAC eyeliner by paying just a little more.
7. Show your best drugstore dupe(s)!!
ZA Two-way Foundation vs MAC Studio Fix. MAC Studio Fix has better staying power but the ZA Two-way fares well too with hardly any oil shine.
8. Drugstore product that isn't worth the hype?
Maybelline Falsies. MEH.
I just started doing some beauty reviews too, so if you would like to visit: www.samtheawesome.blogspot.com
Hey, Jen!!!! :D I was just really worried because well... okay, so I live in South Korea and I just saw this news that said that the healing cream from the brand Mario Badescu contains this stuff that starts with F but I really don't remember; and apparently that stuff is very strong on the skin and if you stop using it it causes redness and roughness to the skin! The good news is that I saw your video reviewing this product on South Korean news!!! I was like, hey!! I know her!!! :D I hope you knew about this product already, but I was just worried... I hope your okay! I know the review video was filimed a while back, but I just wanted to make sure :) Love your videos Jen!!!!! :)
ReplyDelete~Huge fan :)
1. L'oreal for sure. High end packaging and wonderful products (keep in mind, I am in Canada, so I don't get to try all the drugstore brands). I am sure Nyx is great
ReplyDelete2. Face: L'oreal magic souffle TOP. L'oreal liquid powder. L'oreal true match line especially the concealers and the powders. Cover Girl whipped cream foundation. Physicians formula mineral wear talc-free face powder, Cheek: Revlon matte lipstick as a lip and cheek product, wet n wild blush in naive (discontinued) LIP: Revlon lipstick (who doesn't like a nude lipstick) in nude delight.
3. eyeshadows or blushes with NO color pay off. They come in many brands.
4. Essence. Also covergirl whipped cream foundation- under $10 for a foundation. wet 'n wild eye products
5. Cover girl lash blast length it is a very black color, which is hard to find. Overall, a good product. and cover girl eye enhancers in french vanilla - the only under eyebrow highlight I will ever use
6. Aveeno positively radiant moisturizer with spf 15 or 30 (the price keeps going up it is almost $30 in Canada.
7. there is a matte lipstick by revlon that is an exact dupe for stila convertible color in hibiscus...i'll get back to you on that shade
8. drugstore bb creams..I didn't like any of them. They make your skin look overly dewy and don't really seem to offer much skin care benefits. They seem like overly hyped, overly priced and overly THICK tinted moisturizers. However, I have tried some high end bb creams, which I have really enjoyed.
