Manicure Monday: OPI All Sparkly And Gold

9:00 AM

Hey guys! I obviously haven't gotten over the need for sparkle after the holidays because today I wanted to share another blast of sparkly happiness. This was a color in my sister's recent OPI stash which was from their holiday collection. All Sparkly And Gold is a lovely glitter to wear even after the holidays. Let's take a closer look!

I was initially drawn to this color because of its darker "fools gold" shade which is actually pretty unique among gold polishes. The effect is a lot like when you apply gold glitters over a black polish in that it makes the overall look have greater depth and sparkle that really pops.

Here I applied a base of OPI Nail Envy with 3 coats of All Sparkly And Gold and topped it with Seche Vite. This particular polish reminded me of the OPI Liquid Sand polishes in that each layer dries quickly with a textured matte finish but it thankfully smoothed down a lot from one layer of topcoat. If I were wanting a perfectly smooth finish I'd need another coat.

Overall, I'm loving the unique dimensionality of this color. It's unlike anything I currently own and can see myself wearing this shade year round as my own crazy excuse for a "neutral." It's a really stunning look that I'm becoming pretty obsessed with and recommend if you can still find it around after the holidays!

Readers, are you still wearing glitters after the holidays? What is your favorite gold shade? Let me know in the comments!

  1. I am definitely still loving my OPI 'My Favorite Ornament' from the Mariah Carey Holiday line. It's the perfect champagne gold and it's not too in your face, and without a top coat, it's even more sparkly and I don't mind the roughened texture. And it is perfect paired up with a red polish (either over it for a subtle gold layered look or an accent nail) especially for this coming Chinese/Lunar New Year!
    I'm still looking for that perfect bold gold color that is a good mix between a foiled gold and glitter look though..

  8. *___* Sparkly! So pretty! I like it, but I feel like it's missing some kind of dimension? I think I'd personally put it over a dark or black shade. >.>; Maybe make it a backward's gradient, starting it from my cuticles and up on a dark color. ^^;
