Hey guys! I was originally planning on recording a green St. Patrick's Day tutorial but somehow my weekends always seem to be busy busy. The good news is that I did the second best thing, a "face of the day" from the actual morning of March 17th to show you how I really did my makeup. I feel like it's been a long time since I did a good 'ole FOTD without a video, am I right?

Here's a second little preview of my ombre hair which I am really loving so far. It's not too intense in real life that I feel uncomfortable with it, and it looks nice even when I don't do anything at all to it like in these photos.


Here's one with eyes closed so you can see the shadow. Although I actually do this a lot, it's actually a technique that I haven't used in a video yet so I might go ahead and show it in a video anyhow in the future. As you can see, the concentration of shadow is pretty horizontal as opposed to the rounded shape that I did in my smoky pink eyes tutorial.


Colors used:
Inglot shadow in AMC Shine 15 (orange-gold) for inner lid
Inglot shadow in Pearl 418 (dark green similar to MAC humid) for outer-v/contour
Teal shadow from Josie Maran Natural Wonders Palette in center of lid (looks bright green when layered)

When eyes are opened you see just a hint of color on the lids. It's a pretty effect when you are blinking.


I also used the NYX Mosaic Powder in Highlight for the browbones, inner eye corners, and tops of cheeks. Urban Decay 24/7 Liner in Lucky is on my lower lash line. Lashes are Pretty & Cute Korean High Fiber Lashes in M146 which look nice and fluttery. I just have Blistex Silk & Shine lipbalm on my lips.

Since I was totally kidding in my last post about talking about my hair here, I will do a hair post VERY SOON for real, and also have a review and swatches of both my Inglot palette (thank you sis!) and a few Josie Maran items including the one I used for this look.

I told you guys I was going to post a quick OOTD video to try out the style and see what you think! ^_^

The video is really short because I recorded it before I went off to work. The weather has really been cooling down lately so layers are definitely a necessity. I don't enjoy feeling cold but I must say, I adore Fall fashion and playing around with layers during this season more than any other because you can see all of the fun elements of an outfit without being burdened by heat or huge coats.

To kick things off, here is an outfit that my coworker Jason (who is very into comics) said looked like the colors of a thousand villains, bright violet and acid green. ;D Considering my big MAC Venomous Villains haul I ordered last night, it only seemed appropriate that I post this today!



 I also wanted to show a close-up of the eye makeup. Not because it's anything fancy but the opposite, actually! Only 1 eyeshadow. That being said, this is one of the coolest eyeshadows I've ever used.
The color is Rock & Republic's Lawsuit which is a reddish-brown with a green flash. I love the complexity of the color. :D

Whoo buddy, it's been a long time since I did a fashion post hasn't it! Well, it's unfortunate because I've totally been taking photos of my outfits and they have been accumulating. Since I don't actually put together outfits for photos (they are just shots of what I've been wearing day-to-day) I haven't found a very good system for taking outfit shots. Please forgive my crappy self-cam mirror shots. ^.^ I'm just not as cool and sophisticated as some of those fashion bloggers out there and I lost the plate on my tripod. Pretty sure I tried the tripod thing and failed pretty badly anyhow. ;D I just have to train hubby to be a really awesome fashion photographer, and follow me around like paparazzi, photojournalistic style.

Yeah, right. LOL! Until then these will have to do.

As I said, I've been taking a lot of pics so I'll be chopping up the fashion posts into a couple of smaller posts, by style of clothing. Theses are my more casual outfits.

Here was my attempt (fail) at the tripod. I don't know. These were okay but some of the other shots were a little lame-o and washed out. Lucky for you, it's all down hill from here with snapshot city. LOVE this dress though!

RAWR! This video has been especially difficult to upload. I've tried to on about 5 separate occasions and it has errored or failed after uploading for several hours except for this final time where it took over 3 hours to upload. >.< Youtube must really not want me to share my views on what makeup items are best from the drugstore or department store.

Looks like this is not Youtube's day since I have the video here anyway. ;D

Like I mentioned before, this just covers what different types of makeup I prefer buying either high-end or low-end. Not everyone may agree, but these are just my personal opinions. I'm not a department store makeup snob but if you follow my blog you probably already knew that. Hehe.

Hey everyone! Life is still super crazy busy and I'm going to have to apologize for not being as regular with the updates as I usually do. Rest assured, I am still checking up on comments and I've been trying to catch up on e-mails so if I haven't gotten back to you please be patient and I will respond as soon as I can!

I was going to upload a video tonight but after two failed attempts and waiting a total of about 2 hours before they errored out, I've decided to just post a quick FOTD and jewelry review instead.


Also wanted to mention that the nailpolish I'm wearing here is one of my favorites, Revlon Peach Petal. It's the perfect pale pinky-peach on my skin and I wore it for 2 weeks! I even wore it twice within two months. That's pretty much a record for me considering the perverted amount of nail polish I own. Here's a better shot of the polish:


I've definitely been digging the orangey colors this summer with Revlon Peach Petal, Mac Seasonal Peach, Eyeko Coral, and a random Maybelline Coral polish I picked up from the dollar tree. Don't worry, I've still been taking pics so a nail post will come soon. ^.~

Alright, going to go play on my new Macbook Pro and see if I can get used to the new video editing program and try to forget about the crazy thunderstorm going on outside. *BOOM, BOOM*

Hello everyone! I had a looot of requests to do a summer makeup look that will especially work for hot and humid weather so I recorded this while I was at the lake on vacation. The key points to this look are sunscreen, cream + powder blush combo, and waterproof or water-resistent eye makeup. I also used items that would be easy to pack up and travel with. ^.^

This one is a look for monolidders (or those with single eyelids, AKA lids with no visible crease) since I didn't want to use any tape, glue, or lashes when I knew I'd be getting into water. It's a really natural look so the shadow would be appropriate for wearing everyday.

If you'll notice, I used the Revlon Colorstay eyeshadow quad which I absolutely love and have used in the past here, here, and here. Actually, if you click "neutral looks" under the labels on the bar at the right, I use it in about half. It was one of my first staple eyeshadows that I wore everyday and I still use it occasionally when I don't want to think too hard about what shadow combos to wear. It's very flattering on Asian skintones and I'm still looking for a high-end dupe to the copper shade! I know, silly right? I'm looking for a high-end dupe to a drugstore product. What's wrong with me?! ;D

But anyway, it's a pretty simple look and I did indeed wear it out to play in the lake that day. ^.^

And I know it looks the same, but OMG look how tan I look with flash. I wore so much sunscreen and I got so tan already. O.O


Anyway, hope you guys enjoyed this look. I know it's really very basic but I think those suffering in the sweltering weather lately like me will maybe appreciate it. On that note, I have a question that I'll pose for the comments: What is your best makeup tip for hot, sweaty, humid weather?

My answer:
Eucerin Everyday Protection face lotion with spf 30. It's oil-free, non-greasy, and doesn't break me out. I've been wearing it every single morning! It's my perfect summer day moisturizer.

So, this look may or may not have been from St. Patrick's Day. We are just going to pretend that I regularly match all-green on any ordinary day because that's what reasonable, ordinary people do and obviously I am a reasonable and ordinary person. Ahem.

Green is one of those colors that I think everyone can pull off. It's especially nice on those with green, hazel, or brown eyes and it's much easier to have it not clash with Asian skin than, say, blue or other cooler colors. If you think about nature and how nice trees look then it's not so hard to imagine the same colors working well for makeup, right? ^.^

One of my favorite ways to wear bright colors is using it as a "pop" of color on a more neutral lid which is exactly what I've done here.


Here's a close-up of my eye. I did a basic neutral lid, MAC Fluidline for the eyeliner, Sugar criss-cross lashes, and a nice dose of Urban Decay's green 24/7 liners with Graffiti on the waterline and Covet smudged underneath. I skipped any black liner on the bottom lashes and instead had a nice long coat of mascara to open up the eyes.


For base makeup, I used Lioele's Beyond the Solution BB Cream which has great coverage but I have since stopped using since Skin 79's Super Functions (hot pink) BB matches my skintone better. One effect that I do find interesting looking at the photos where I used the Lioele is that it gives that really flat, almost mannequin-like perfect look to the face. Maybe it's just how it reacts to my skin but this is definitely something to keep in mind for those interested in purchasing. This is high on the coverage-scale and low on the glowy-scale. I'll have to do a review and comparison soon on the BB's that I currently own which are only Lioele Beyond the Solution, Skin79 hot pink, and Skin79 DermaRX.


I'm also using Lioele's Cushion Touch Blusher which I still love. The matte baby pink looks more peachy here since I'm wearing the Canmake Maxi Volume Rouge in 22 Peach Beige that I got as a gift from Eki. Thank you for the lippy babe I love the color sooo much! I'm very much obsessed with peach shades lately. ^.^


I know this is terribly late and I had already posted this color in my last nail post but I wanted to show how my NYX Las Vegas polish matched the eye color and also my shirt. I LOVE MATCHING OKAY? We should all have our own club called "matchers anonymous" where we can commiserate about how our lives aren't color-coordinated enough.


And this shot I think came out a bit artistically so I just wanted to share. My lovely Lioele Princess Mirror which I <3 a little too much.
