Dolly-look Photoshoot

5:48 PM

Just wanted to share some of the photos from a shoot I did with the "Dolly-Eyed" look. We had this crazy innocent-but-a-little-off concept. A little moody, a little Japanese horror film style. Hair, makeup, and styling was all me. :)

creepy. one of my favorite shots.

Thank you Drew for an awesome shoot and incredible photos! You were so great to work with. I need to work with more ladies like you!

  11. hey Jen!
Love your tutorials, especially the one on dolly eyes, I've just ran out of eyetalk so I've restocked eyelid tape to give it a try ^^ I couldn't seem to find UDPP at any of the makeup/drug stores around my place and ended up getting shiseido's brightening veil as a primer instead, have you tried it? If so, how do you find it compared to UDPP? =/ I've usually just used revlon's primer so I'm finding this one a bit odd to use..

  13. izumi: No, unfortunately I've never even been to California. But my sister does live out there so if I come visit I will definitely let you know. :)

SilverRime: My wedding photographer is also a friend of mine and she suggested I get in touch with local photographers. It's been fun and I've been doing shoots for a little under a year.

Caroline :]: Hahaha! Your comment made me laugh so much. Thank you, thank you but I don't think I could since I'm so short! :)

Rin: Maybe you are confusing foundation primers with eyeshadow primers. They are totally different! Some say you can use concealers and such, but I recommend getting, specifically, an eyeshadow primer. If you don't have a sephora or ulta near you to get UDPP, TooFaced Shadow Insurance, (and many other companies with eyeshadow primers at sephora), you can try L'Oreal's De-Crease. I haven't personally tried it but maybe you can try it and tell me how it goes. :)

Anonymous: There are SO MANY Koreans and other Asian beauty bloggers out there. Many commenters even have their own beauty blogs, so my best recommendation is to browse the comments!

  15. OMG you look SO pretty

man, i'd love to be able to model as a hobby. it looks like fun! it looks like the glamour of modeling, but without the pressure.

so do you charge the photographer to take pics of you? or do THEY charge you to take your pics? How did you get started, as in where did you find your contact to start the modeling? thank youu!

  16. IchigoBunnie: I usually just do a collaboration-type trade. They call it "tfp" or "tfd" as in, time-for-prints or time-for-digitals. You put in your time, and you both get nice pics as payment. Or I just get paid, which is always nice. :P

Like I said to SilverRime, my photographer friend suggested I try it so that's how I got into it.
