Manicure Monday: A'Pieu Glow Nail Touch PP02

9:00 AM

Hey everyone! After last week's dark, vampy color I wanted to switch things up a bit and go with a shade that was much lighter and more neutral. This was my first time trying A'Pieu Glow Nail Touch which is a Korean brand that I was gifted by a reader at my Seoul meet-up this summer. You guys know how much I adore holographic polishes so I was really excited to try this subtle one!

The nice thing about shade A'Pieu PP02 is that it's a nice replacement for "mannequin hands" skin-colored polish which has been a nail trend within the last few years. Although this type of artificial lighting skews the color pink, on the hands it looks much more of a nude with just a hint of mauve which keeps it from looking too bland. The holographic glitter gives it a lot of interest even though it's very subtle and doesn't have a linear holo rainbow like other holo polishes.

Here I used a base of OPI Nail Envy with 2 coats of A'Pieu PP02 and Seche Vite Top Coat. I actually had full coverage in just 1 coat but you get more of a denser taupe color with two. The wide, flat brush was very easy to work with and everything dried quickly too. As a color comparison, it matches the casing on my Naked 3 palette quite well! Overall, I'm LOVING how clean and pretty it looks, especially with short nails.

The one downside I can see is that it may be harder to get your hands on since it's a Korean brand. You might find luck with something similar like Layla Coral Glam (much stronger/larger holo particles) though, or hunting down old school China Glaze OMG Collection FYI (tanner than PP02). ;)

Readers, what is your favorite "mannequin hands" nail polish? Do you have a go-to neutral? Let me know in the comments!

    1. Haha honestly my nail health goes in cycles and lately they've been doing better and not peeling as much! I cut them short so I could get all the peeled bits off. ^_^

  24. That is such a pretty color! I wonder if you can purchase it online? One of my go-to nude polishes is Loreal's Tea and Crumpets. It's a lovely "greige" (gray + beige) color that I personally think goes well with yellow undertones!

  29. For those of you looking for the official website for A' Pieu, it's www.beautynet.co.kr (though I think it only provides Korean). It's the same company that produces MISSHIA :)

  30. What a beautiful color! I'm wondering how the polish held up? Was the quality very good? Would you compare it to like a OPI, or like a Drug Store brand?
