Lion Halloween Makeup Tutorial =^.^=
5:58 PMHey guys! Today I have the first of a few Halloween looks that I have planned for this year, and is one of my absolute favorites. This look is the brave LION! Rawr!
I really wanted to do another cat look after the warm reception my Puss In Boots Halloween look received last year. I got so many requests for a tutorial but I hadn't recorded one at the time so this one is a close cousin. I know a lot of girls do the whole black cat look with just a black nose drawn on but I like to think this is a step up from that. ^_~
Products mentioned:
MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation in NC30
MX21 Brown circle lenses
Graftobian HD Glamour Cream Super Palette in Warm
Lioele All-in-One Gel Liner
MAC Blot Powder in Medium
Urban Decay Naked Palette (Darkhorse and Virgin)
Lashes from http://www.kiwiberry1-collection.com/
Fairy Drops Mascara
NYX Rouge Cream Blush in 05 Glow
Pretty and Cute Contour Palette
Clinique Gel Liner in 04 Deep Brown
NYX Round Lipstick in Circe and Fusion
So a little tip for you petite ladies out there, Leg Avenue makes really tiny costumes! A couple years ago I bought a Snow White Leg Avenue costume which you can see in this post which also fit quite well so I definitely recommend it. I wear size XS and this lion costume fits really petite in particular. I flipped the armwarmers around so the furry parts are at the hands because I thought it was cuter that way. :D
I hope you enjoyed this one! =^.^=
If any of you are going to try out this look pleeeease send me pics or post them in my facebook fan page! I am crossing my fingers that I will see lots of little spawn kitties this Halloween. Hehe.
Let me know what you are planning to be for Halloween in the comments! Time for me to go watch Life on Animal Planet and see hubby freak out about cute baby octopi.

The final look
A close-up. I'm happy with the gradient look that came out of the eyeshadow blending.
This was my attempt at a cat-like squinty-eye. I don't think I actually look very frightening though. lol.
Soft kitty, warm kitty, little ball of fur...
...happy kitty, sleepy kitty, purr, purr, purr!
(Nope, still not scary. XD)

Here's the stock image for this costume for comparison. I actually like the color and fur of mine better.
Hubby caught me making faces on the floor. ;p

ReplyDeleteYOU ARE SO PRETTY! and cute :) i just tried out a new nail polish and i wanted to let you know :) it's the Revlon Matte Suede collection ! they have 4 colours, and they're so pretty :) try it out, Jen!
ReplyDeletehi there... was wondering if you have done, or could do a tutorial for a smoky eye using green eyeshadows? kinda like a forest nymph/pixie?
ReplyDeleteomg..too cute!
ReplyDeletegorgeous hair, i love it! how to do the fringe like yours?
ReplyDelete=D
Aww this is so cute and creative!!
ReplyDeleteOMG that is so cuuute! And I think Leg Avenue's costumes vary from one costume to another depending on the style. If it's a body hugging sort of costume it tends to run smaller because I fitted into my lady bug costume from a few years ago perfectly, but when I tried on one of the pirate costumes it was too big, especially in the bust area. ;x
ReplyDeleteGreat tutorial! Gorgeous look!
ReplyDeleteQuick question, what barrel curling iron did you use (or flat iron)....the 1.5" curling iron was too big.....so I'm debating between the 1.25" or the 1" curling iron.
If you could get back to me on that, that would be great!
Keep up the great work!
Soooooooo cute~~ you make me want to be a lion!!hahaa
ReplyDeleteU r soooooo cute!
ReplyDeleteLove the overall make up and outfit to the maximum...
Hey Jen,
ReplyDeleteI saw your eyelid tape video and was wondering if you've ever used an double eyelid clipper like this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Japan-Double-Eyelid-Clipper-eye-Clip-No-Tape-No-Glue-/140463164138 because it looks quite interesting. If yes it'd be great if you could do a review on them.
Love,
Lila
so cute :) you really pulled off that outfit!
ReplyDeleteYou are stunning! Oh, and a great makeup guru with a down to earth and relatable presence on your vlog. If you work in a corporate job, may I introduce you to my Taryn Zhang handbags! ;-)
ReplyDeleteHI Jen! How tall are you? I think I might get a costume from Leg Avenue and wasn't sure whether to get xs or small. Thanks! =)
ReplyDeleteomgoodnesss YOU KNOW SOFT KITTY?!! SING IT FOR MEEE XD lol..creepy hehe
ReplyDeletejust kidding
i never would have thought you'd be a big bang theory watcher!! hahaha i love THAT SHOW! This just makes you that much more awesome (you were awesome before but now you are waaay more awesome)

ReplyDeleteTHANKS!!!

ReplyDeleterecreating this look for haloween myself, thanks so much for sharing! can you tell me what lashes ur wearing in this video please??
So, this tutorial was actually a lifesaver for me cause I decided on that same lion costume for this year's halloween, and when I searched for makeup how to's everyone did a harsher version, with much more detailing. Yours was incredibly simple and easy and sexy. I absolutely loved it. Only thing I did different was that I painted my whole nose black. I'm including the direct link for a pic of my halloween night. Thank you so much :)

Hello! I really like this costume and the make up. I was wondering if you can offer other options about the shoes? I love high heels, but personally I prefer something like flats or maybe 1inch. Do you know the type of shoes that will pull this outfit? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHEllo! I really like the costume and the make up. I saw your the heels you wore, and I was wondering if you can list some other option besides heels for this outfit? Personally I love heels but I prefer flats or 1inch.
