OOTD: LOFT Cardigan and Wool Trousers

10:23 PM

Sometimes I really hate to admit it, but I am SO influenced by my fellow blogger ladies. I think part of being a blogger is also being a blog reader and being a part of this community that feeds off of itself in terms of creating new lemmings and inspiring one other.

One of the coolest blessings has definitely been the petite fashion blogging community which has definitely grown my own personal sense of style since it's made me more aware of how my clothes fit. I've become obsessed with getting alterations done on my clothes and purchasing quality items from retailers that actually make things in my size. It's always been difficult for me to fit things off the rack so seeing how things fit on other petites is really cool, not to mention they are all pretty much adorable and exude their own stylish flair!

If you are a fellow petite out there, definitely check out http://www.petitefashionblogs.com/ and the Alterations Needed Forum which are really invaluable resources. I'm convinced you girls are some of the best at having fantastic fitting clothes since you pay so much closer attention to it. Everyone can learn from their posts about fit! ;)

I apologize for the long blabbing but I can't stress enough about my love of Kelly at alterationsneeded.com and Jean at extrapetite.com for creating the blogs that I was dying to find 2-3 years ago. You girls are my heros! <3

Anyway, on to my own outfit of the day which has been heavily influenced by these ladies. ^_~

Like in my last OOTD, you'll have to ignore the weird placement of these photos. I had to use the camera timer since my remote ran out of batteries and I guess the camera wasn't a fan of including my shoes in the shot. I swear I look taller when you can see my feet. XD

This last pic I just wanted to show off my recent sunnies acquisition. These babies are adorable square-framed Fendi's that I found at Marshall's on clearance for under $40! LOVE the little roses on them. I'll have to take better pics sometime. ^_^

Oh, and this video and these photos were taken a couple weeks ago and I've since cut my hair and colored it ombre-style to a caramel color at the ends. These can serve as the "before" pics. :)

That's for next time! Hope you all have a fabulous weekend~

  6. <3 Much love, Jen. I haven't seen that top on anyone yet, I don't think. I love the print of the ikat cardigan (can't remember who modeled it..Vicky?) and you've made these items shrink nicely to fit. The wool cuffed trousers are a petite fave! I'm glad you found them in your size for a bargain.

  7. Woohoo! Another wool trouser success story :) Are you wearing anything underneath them? I have to always wear tights as they are too itchy for me. But I'm probably just sensitive.

  26. Your outfit is really cute! I love it. I've been trying to find different ideas for work clothes, and this helped a bit :) The shoes are gorgeous! I couldn't handle wearing those all day for work though :/ i've been desperately looking for a comfy work shoe, with a heel.

You should check out Banana Republic's trousers. I have the same petite frame as you do, and BR is the only place that fits me perfectly! No hemming, folding, pinning necessary whatsoever :) They may be a bit pricey, but if you find a BR @ the Outlets, they always have better deals & what not. Martian fit, fits me best!

  27. I saw those wool trouser's on Jean's blog too and I'm totally lusting after them now! They look great on you too. I wish we had LOFT stores in Canada... it would sooo much more convenient since I have no idea how their sizing is.

  28. You look great Jen! The most classy outfit yet :D

I really like that the animal print cardi is a lighter color too... puts a fresh spin on an old classic. Really wish my store had it and also those wool pants! Heard they were on crazy sale and really wanted to pick them up but none in my size at my store :\

  31. Hi Jen! Your outfit is very cute! :)
It's funny because I just went to NYC for my spring break and met up with my aunt who's a head designer for Ann Taylor. She's a VP for the Tops division or something :) I wonder if she designed the one you're wearing! That'd be coool!

  33. The trousers look great on you! I haven't had a chance to try cuffed trousers yet, not sure if I can pull them off. The cuffed pants also looked great on Kelly and Jean too.

  35. Hi Jen,
I really like how the beige Eleganza heels look on you. Thinking of getting a pair for myself. How do you like the? Are they comfortable? I have always been a size 5, but when I did my measurements according to pretty small shoes instructions, I turned out to be a size 4 or according to them 34. Do you think this is correct? Also what heel height did you get?
