Kim Yuna Inspired Natural Korean Makeup Tutorial

9:22 PM

Here's a look that I got quite a few requests for around Olympics time! It's a makeup look inspired by Kim Yuna, the Korean gold medalist ice skater. I actually wanted it to lean more toward the more "natural" side to look more like typical Korean style makeup so I didn't wing the eyeliner as much as what Yuna wore during the Olympics but it is actually a rather thick line on my eye, just tucked underneath my monolid. ;)

The emphasis here is the clean and natural complexion, minimal shadow, and smokey lined eye.

Products used:
Lioele Beyond Solution BB Cream
Paul & Joe Face Powder in 03 Sand
Too Faced Shadow Insurance
Sugar Cosmetics Color Stick in Apple Cider
NYX Ultimate Pearl Eyeshadow in Gold Pearl
NYX Ultimate Pearl Eyeshadow in White Pearl
MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack
Aube Eyeshadow Palette (dark purple color)
Anastasia Brows in Bloom in Brunette
Shiseido Eyelash Curler
Lioele Up & Down Waterproof Mascara
Lioele Cushion Touch Blusher in Pink
Aquafina Berry Lipbalm
Lioele Blooming Pop Cherry Tint
YSL Rouge Volupte #1 Nude Beige
Lioele Blooming Gloss #10 Lovely Twoway

I received some fun Lioele goodies from the lovely Janie at www.prettyandcute.com who has just started selling this super cute brand of Korean cosmetics. I about freaked out at the packaging because it's all pink and princessy! I'll go more in-depth into that in a review of the products soon but suffice it to say that I love it and I've been using some Lioele every single day since I've received it. Can't wait to share it with you guys. ^_^

If you notice in the video, I'm also using a ridiculously cute baby pink princess mirror to apply my makeup.

Janie was sweet enough to give my readers a special deal where if you purchase $30 of anything at prettyandcute.com before shipping and put frmheadtotoe in the comments box, you can get a free Lioele Princess Mirror in your choice of colors baby pink or hot pink!

Ahhhhh, the princess mirror is basically my new favorite thing so I'm SUPER excited about this deal. XD Again, I'll go more into the products soon in my next video/review of the products.

Here are pics of this look!

Check out this bling bling! It's an Ekilove necklace and I LOVE it! <3

Okay, that's it for now. Work has been RIDICULOUSLY busy lately so I'm trying to get all the rest I can get which never seems to be enough! Goodnight. :)

  5. Jen! Great tutorial! Thanks for it! I'm definitely going to try it out. My mom's been telling me that the way I do my eyeliner does make my eyes pop, but not in an "innocent" way, I'm going to attempt this look instead and see how "innocent" I'll end up, hahaha~

  7. Nice tutorial. Well, both you and Yuna look stunning.

Visited Pretty & Cute website. They really have a lot of cute stuff indeed. But I'll wait for your tutorials before i make any purchase. Btw, do you think their brushes are good? Or you would've recommended Sigma, MAC's. Thanks...

    XOXO.

  15. That blusher was super cute!! I've heard of prettyandcute before but never really needed anything from them. I did try looking for contacts but apparently they took it down. But I'm considering the blusher now, looks fun to use and seems practial.

  17. Sooo...I loved this look and decided to try it out. But whenever I wear eyeliner during the day I always end up with lots and lots UNDER my eyes :( By the end of the day I look more like a drug addict with black rings under my eyes than a flawless korean beauty. Whenever I wear eyelid tape this does not happen so I guess it is all thanks to the monolids. I am getting so tired of it! At the same time I dont like wearing tape during the day because even the double sided one shows in daylight and it looks so tacky.

  29. Hi! Do you know Of any traditional homemade masks which Korean ladies use as a secret remedy for dry skin or wrinkles? Or any popular homemade or store bought Korean masks?

In the Korean drama, princess hours 2, the characters use some brown mask applied with a brush.. Any idea what that is?

    Thanks in advance!

  31. i wonder if you had cosmetic eye surgery done on your inner corner of your eyes, they seem opened up, kind of unique for asian eyes. Just curious.

  32. I love love love this look! I am absolutely in love with KimYuna and her pure and very traditional makeup. I was wondering what colors you would use to achieve this look with the NAKED palette shadow colors.. if that's even possible. I want to buy the ones you used in this video, but I feel like I should cut back on my spending for a bit. But if that's the color that suits it the best, I'll just cut back on my other spendings to get them :D
