After doing the "Confessions of a Shoeaholic" tag video, I went back through my old photos trying to think of if I had ever posted an outfit with my beloved hot pink heels. It seems I haven't done a proper outfit post in so long that the neon beauties got left behind! It's a good thing I happened to take them to my trip to LA last year for IMATS along with my dear Kassia who makes photos magical.

The biggest key to wearing such a loud statement shoe is to go neutral for the rest of the look. Grey tube dresses and flowing blouses make for breezy, comfy summer outfits that are refreshed by the bright heel. If you look closely, you can also see some subtle complimentary color blocking going on.

I'm not gonna lie, it's not something I was expecting and I actually got a bit emotional reading all of them. Maybe it is redundant for me to say it, but I really want to say how deeply I appreciate all of your love and support.

My bling for the evening. Gold tones and Urban Decay Zippy glitter polish. This crystal quartz necklace is especially one of my favorite pieces of the moment. I got it from Hautelook (for a dang good discount) and the designer is Vivian Tamayo. I'm also lusting after similar crystal pieces like this and this. There's just something about rock crystal that is really cool and edgy, and matches everything I own.


Birthday present reveal! This is the Michael Kors Blair rose gold watch that I bought during the Macy's Friend's & Family sale. The Macy's site listed the face as being 41mm but Nordie's and Dillards lists it as 39mm. No idea which is true but I think it looks nice on me even though I have tiny wrists.

Also available in champagne, chocolate, silver, and silver with rose gold accents.


And here is my bag reveal of what I got from Louis Vuitton in Paris! It's the Trevi PM in Damier Ebene. I love the pleats and how it has both top handles and a shoulder strap for versatility. It's my first and only LV purchase and I am totally in love with it!

It's been a seriously long time since I posted an outfit last! For some reason I just didn't grab for the camera much this Summer and all of a sudden it was already Winter.

Honestly, I think Winter looks are more fun to post anyhow since the layers and textures are more interesting to boot! I don't love the chill but I do love me some collared-shirts-under-cardigans and a warm cup of hot cocoa. In rebelling against the Winter gloom, here is how I do bright Winter layers.

One thing I love to do with layers is to wear something in a way that I never have before, like this ruffled top. I wanted to do some sort of additional layer with my flannel shirt but I got bored of wearing my tank under the collared top all the time and thought I'd try switching it up. Layering it like a vest allows the ruffles to be really vibrant and adds a contrast of texture.


I love to really layer accessories as well, especially delicate necklaces which I've been doing since junior high. Since I'm petite, big chunky jewelry can overwhelm me at times so I like to add 2 or 3 thin-chained necklaces that are different lengths to add interest to the neckline.



As for the big silver artichoke ring here, it is a newly acquired purchase from eBay which I was so, so excited about! I'm not sure if I've mentioned it before, but I actually collect sterling silver and vintage gemstone rings and this is one of my most prized acquisitions. The ring is signed Napier and is a size 3.5 which fits my ring finger perfectly! I often pile on tons of rings all at once like a magpie (oooh, shiny distractions on my hands) but this baby deserves to have more of a spotlight. :)

Spring is absolutely my favorite season because everything starts to grow and become bright and new again. Although we've gone back and forth between chilly weather and hot hot heat, a desire to look more fresh definitely shows itself in my wardrobe choices.

I am one of those people who don't believe in the "no white until Memorial Day" rule, obviously. I even wore my white jeans with some crisp navy blue cardigans during the winter when I felt that the slush and grey was getting unbearable. As soon as green leaves and blue skies show up, I grab my white pants and boogie! The best part is that they make every top look just a bit more sophisticated and fresh.


I complimented my Juicy Orange makeup look with this citrine yellow belt that I showed in my April Hits & Misses, which also happens to match my coral-orange toenails. I'm LOVING warm accent colors this spring!


Can you see how beautifully this necklace hangs? It was a winter piece but I'll be wearing this sparkly piece all year round. The trick is to pair it with something really detailed like leopard print so it doesn't scream out, or do the opposite and pair it with something really simple to make a statement.


In addition to these skinnies, I recently also bought some white Frankie B flares on Hautelook which I am super excited to bust out as well. :D I can't wait to get them hemmed (of course) and paired with some wedges and a sheer top.

So a couple months ago I got a message on Youtube from supposedly Josie Maran (you know, the model and owner of the cosmetics line of the same name) which I was slightly hesitant about. She said she was a fan of my videos, but seeing as there are many PR companies out there that may scour youtube for young gurus to pimp their products, I had to ask if it was actually her! When a PR rep actually e-mailed me in following up, I asked straight up if it was THE Josie Maran and to my surprise they actually said it was indeed her who had messaged me.

Say what you want about companies being all about the money; I still respect a company owner who would go out of her way to be personal in messaging people like that! I've been a fan of Josie ever since her modeling days so I am very much humbled that she would write to me.

Anyway, the e-mail from her PR "people" asked if I would like to choose a few things to review and I heartily agreed. I will go over some of the other items I tried in the future but today I want to share with you my favorites of the bunch, two all-in-one powder palettes.


The My Favorite Argan Powders palette was actually the very first thing I picked out from her whole product line. I had only read positive things about this palette from Makeup Alley, so I wanted to see for myself if it lived up to the rating. I love the ease of a palette but I'm pretty hard to please when it comes to multi-use palettes because it seems like there is always a fail or five folded into the package. Thankfully, this was not the case with this palette.


Second up is the Natural Wonder Argan Powder Palette which I was drawn to for the gorgeous-looking shadow colors. They look so happy and vibrant in the packaging and I was really hoping for a lot of color payoff.


These colors went on buttery as well, but sadly some of the shades were not as amazing as with the My Favorite palette. The pink shade is a cute color for natural days and the purple is my favorite of this group which goes on a bright, true purple without the bluish reflection that a lot of my other purples have.
The teal is quite pretty and very smooth but definitely not as pigmented in 1 swipe as I expected. The gold is perfect for inner corners, but again, not at all right for the brow bone. The copper here is very nice and is warmer than on the neutral palette. The blushes, the left one especially, is very vibrant and more suited for those with warmer complexions but all 3 are nice.




If you were curious about these palettes then definitely check them out because you will NOT be disappointed. The neutral one especially is a big winner and stands out among the rest of my makeup collection which, I'm not gonna lie, is not an easy thing to do. It's just so easy when everything you need is right there and everything in the palette is high quality, all natural, and chemical free.

Anyway, as I said I do plan on doing a video including these... Maybe my very first "favorites" video? I've been toying with the idea of doing monthly favs since I find those videos super informative and helpful from others. What do you guys think? Favorites? Hits and Misses? Anyway, on to my own outfit of the day which has been heavily influenced by these ladies. ^_~

Hello everyone! I hope you are seeing clearer skies than I am at the moment. We are stuck in some drizzly, druzzly, freezing rain/snow/sleet action and once again I am using my previously recorded photos and videos to live vicariously through my prior experiences. Warm and happy forever, I say!

Because of this glorious excuse, I am posting an outfit of the day from when we had a few short days of Spring preview weather. I'm quite sick of winter so as soon as it hit the 70's, my House of Holland suspender tights flew onto my legs (Literally, they flew across the room onto my legs. You should've seen it.) and I flew across my living room to set up my new tripod. See? I'm getting better! I finally used a tripod to record an "outfit of the day". *curtsy*


If you follow me on Twitter, you will know that the day I actually wore this outfit I had on my black Theory Gratti blazer which is a cuter, more cropped fit than what I'm wearing in this video but it's currently at the tailors being altered. As I rarely wear any outfit more than once, I wanted to record this outfit concept before it flew (Again? What's with all the flying?) out of my mind completely so please forgive the slouchy boyfriend-ish fit here!


So there's also a bit of a story about this outfit. I was obviously feeling a bit self-conscious because I tend to be pretty conservative and not wear anything this risqué to work although I work in a creative department that can "get away" with wearing more fashiony or casual wear. On my way to lunch, I passed one of the directors who I saw give me an eye and then the Vice President of my department walked past as well while I was going up the stairs. Inside I was like OH NO DID I WEAR THE WRONG THING but shrugged it off and got in line for my food.

A couple minutes later I felt a tap on my shoulder from the VP.

He stopped me and said, "Can I just say--thank you. THANK YOU! You look fabulous today. Thank you. Thank you."

Needless to say, I was thoroughly embarrassed and flustered and flattered and had a big grin on my face for the next two hours. XD He even went to my manager and talked about my outfit and that he probably embarrassed me. Eeeeeeeeeee~

A couple more just 'cause. Here I am showcasing my grump face. I was having camera troubles. Lol.


And an example of why remotes are way better than camera timers, especially when you can only find the 2-second setting. MEGA FAIL!

Here's a close-up of the top. I LOVE this top from LOFT because the color and material look so classy, and the built-in necklace really makes it special. Hey everyone! First off, I just wanted to give a big shoutout to my South Korean readers since I saw a huge spike of new hits after the CL video went semi-viral there. (Did I tell you guys about that? I guess some random guy yanked it off my youtube page and posted it on Cyworld/Nate, which is like Korea's Facebook, and it made it to the main page which is total craziness!)

You know how critical Korean netizens can be, but fortunately I also had plenty of lovely people who were kind as well and I feel so blessed by the new wave of supporters. If anyone from Korea is reading this now, 안녕하세요! ㅋㅋㅋ~ ^_^


Because of this, I was inspired to add a Translator widget to my sidebar so feel free to use it (although I know the Korean translator for Google is terrible!) I always think it's the coolest thing to see readers from all across the world and it makes me feel small like a tiny ant in a really great, humbling way.

Okay, enough blabbing and onto my OOTD video! Today was particularly chilly so I really bundled up. If you have been a long-time reader of this blog you'll know that my outfit is in typical "Winter Jen Fashion" style.
