I'm frequently asked what inspires me to create makeup looks and if I ever run out of ideas. Honestly, makeup for me is so much more than just paint so it's easy to be inspired. It's passion, it's expression, and it's conveying your emotions and feelings on a canvas that is naturally animated. Makeup makes me want to grab beauty from everywhere and exude that feeling on a face. Today I want to share with you, in photos, a glimpse of my inspiration taken by a true artist, Kassia Phoy.


It's almost mundane to say "nature" as an easy response to inspiration, but only because it's so easy to take it for granted. Pink petals, soft sunlight, green leaves, and a sea of wispy vines are both delicate and wild. Isn't that frequently what we want our makeup to say about us as well?





It can be as specific as a neon lipstick trend or as vague as the feeling of your heart beating faster as you spin. Inspiration comes where you open your eyes and see it.

      My hair does not like to hold a curl unless I mousse it up so I would be sacrificing the soft natural texture just so I can get a wave...so if there are any

      It was just a fence with bougainvillea flowers blooming on it on the side of a street in LA. Kassia just sees these ordinary places and can picture something magical there. It really takes a gift! :)

    I'm super petite like you and have been searching for a pair of similar style that would fit my tiny ankles and they look like such a great fit on you!! What size would you recommend ordering for those boots?

      My feet are super tiny so I'm wearing a size 4 here but I wouldn't say they are fitted at the ankle. It's more of a casual fit. :)
