June & July 2013 Beauty Favorites!
10:23 PM
Hey everyone! I wanted to share with you some of my favorites from the last couple of months. A lot of these are my "return to makeup" products so they would actually be really perfect for newbies to makeup who want to start with some great go-to basics, or students who don't have time or money to get every color of every item. Gotta love that low-thought, high-impact makeup that's both flattering and easy to wear, right? ;)
Check out my favs below!
PRODUCTS MENTIONED:
Puffs Fresh Faces Wipes
Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette
Benefit CORALista Blush
Tweezerman Tweezers
Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Anti-Aging
Benefit Instant Brow Pencil in Light
3 Concept Eyes Lip Lacquer in Show Time
Etude House Ice Cream nail polish in Grapefruit
Etude House Ice Cream nail polish in Bluemint
ON ME:
Eyes - Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette
Face - Neutrogena Healthy Skin Foundation
Lips - 3 Concept Eyes Lip Lacquer in Show Time
Cheeks - Benefit CORALista Blush
Top - TJ Maxx (similar)
Nails - Lioele Peach Pink
Okay, can I just take a minute to give some praise to a new product that a lovely Twitter follower (I can't find the tweet so if it was you, please let me know!) recommended to me? The Puffs Fresh Faces wipes were a lifesaver during my fever sweats to wipe away the uncomfortable sticky feeling. It's bad enough to have the fevers in the first place, but dealing with the yucky sweaty feeling every few hours is maddening.
It's made with saline so it's much more natural than traditional makeup wipes and since getting better, I've already used it to wipe dust off a table and for wiping makeup off my hands while I'm doing my morning routine. I'd imagine it would also be fantastic for using post-workout as well.
I've also been really loving the 3CE Lip Lacquer in Show Time which is basically a matte liquid lipstick in deep pink. I wore it in the video and also through 2 meals and can verify that it's super long-lasting and comfortable to have on throughout the day. The best part is that what you see is what you get and the color on lips is exactly the shade in the bottle!
It retails for (18,900 Korean won) $20.81 USD and you can pick it up online at Style Nanda or in-stores at Myeongdong and Hongdae in Seoul, South Korea.
Readers, do you collect a variety of makeup or do you tend to stick to your favorites over and over? Do you have any beauty favorites discovered unexpectedly? Let me know in the comments!

Show time is such a pretty colour and it looks really good on you!
ReplyDeleteGlad to know that you're feeling better:)I have been really missing your blogposts and videos, and was super excited when I saw that you had a new video and blogpost out!
Hi Jen, so happy that you are feeling better! I was wondering what is your favorite powder foundation? I have super oily skin and I am looking for a light to medium coverage. Thank Your So Much!
ReplyDeleteMy current powder foundation is Youngblood Mineral Makeup since it's so easy to wear. I do get a bit oily with it though, so I'm still experimenting with primers and such in combo with it. It's great for when your skin is sensitive though.
DeleteI just love your overall makeup in this post/video! You look so fresh and glowy! You don't look like you've been sick at all! ^__^ I love the color of Show Time, so pretty and such a flattering pink! Glad you are feeling better and excited to see more videos/posts from you. <3

ReplyDeleteI usually don't wear eye shadow but recently i've been exploring it and now im pretty much addicted to make up, i usually change the choice of my lipstick color everday but mostly use the same foundation, powder, primer and eye liner =)

Ooh, Disco is cute! I'll have to see what colors I picked up since I got a couple colors. :)
DeleteI feel intrigued in those wipes, even though I don't like Puffs tissues. My foam mattress makes me feel too hot, but I usually shower at night and I don't have time to shower in the morning. Lol sorry TMI, but maybe those wipes would help me out in the AM, before I head out, so thanks for sharing!

Everyone sweats, so it's just being honest, no TMI there! You should definitely try it out!

So glad you feel better and I'm glad you're back! I actually showed my mom this video and she's finally convinced she needs to get Coralista. Seems like you're much more persuasive than I am, since I've also been telling her to get it!

ReplyDeleteHi Jen,
ReplyDeleteI was wondering if you could do a makeup tutorial of women in the 1920s? My friend is having an engagement party next month with the 1920s theme, and I thought it would be great if you could do the makeup to match the theme. I understand if you don't have time to do the demonstration. Glad you are doing better health-wise. Take care!
3CE Lip Lacquer is very cute color.
ReplyDeleteHi Jen,
ReplyDeleteWould you be able to recommend a dupe for the 3 concepts eyes lips laquer that you can find at the store in America? I love that color so much!! I know you mentioned the Nyx Soft Matte lip colors in your video, but I wasn't sure if you would recommend those as a substitute or not?
Thanks :)
Hello, Jen.
