Manicure Monday: Etude House Juicy Cocktail Gradation Nails in Screwdriver Orange

9:00 AM

Hey everyone! This week's Manicure Monday is another Etude House polish which actually comes in a set of 3 mini polishes. Used together the Etude House Juicy Cocktail Gradation Nails trio in Screwdriver Orange creates a cute, glittery gradient effect which is perfect for the Summertime. I personally adore peach and glitter so you know I was digging this one!

For the base, the orange sorbet shade on the left gives a pale, translucent tint to the nails. I was hesitant about it at first since it was rather viscous and I didn't think it would cover well, but in two whole coats I got a nice milky foundation to build on. Make sure you let the base dry well between coats!

Next came the glittery mid-orange color applied in an arch from 1/2 nail to the tips. Again, let it dry, then apply the translucent blood orange shade to the last 1/3 of the nail near the tips.

The overall effect looks like a peach jelly gradient with glitters diffusing each shade into the next.

Since gradient nails take so many layers of polish, they usually wear really well for me before chipping and this was no exception. Also, it's nice to note that the removal isn't as annoying as a solid glitter polish since this had a base shade with no glitter and the glitter only covers the lower half of the nail.

Base and top coats were my usual OPI Nail Envy and Seche Vite Top Coat. Overall, I was totally in love with this easy-to-follow gradient set! It does take some patience to wait for everything to dry but the outcome looks more impressive than the effort it took. You can purchase this Etude House Juicy Cocktail Gradation nails set in Screwdriver Orange and more colors at Pretty and Cute for $10.99 USD.

Readers, have you tried gradient nails? Would you rather find shades to ombré yourself or buy it in a set? Let me know in the comments!

  5. How do you keep your nails healthy, e.g. not chipping, after constant nail polish use? Does your base coat made a difference? Your nail polish remover? Thx

    1. Honestly, my nails go in cycles of chipping or not chipping. Lately, I think they have really been rescued by OPI Nail Envy! I wear polish alllllll the time and haven't had chipping problems since I started using it as my base. :)

  6. The end result looks a lot more difficult to do than it really is. The color is so simple and feminine. I wish it were easier to get Etude products!
