REVIEW & SWATCHES: Too Faced Pretty Rebel Palette

9:00 AM

Hey everyone! Today I wanted to share an eyeshadow set that is part of Too Faced's Fall 2013 collection, the Pretty Rebel palette. It was definitely the product that caught my eye the most from my visit to Too Faced's headquarters and contains ten gorgeous shades in both neutral and "going out" brights and darks.

Lets check out the swatches below!

A step up in design compared to some of their previous packaging, Pretty Rebel comes in a metallic-wrapped cardboard casing with a large mirror and an edgy, black ribbon-wrapped design.

On the inside, you can see a quad of neutral "everyday" shades on the left with six additional colors to play with on the right including Girly, a lovely duochrome which is my own personal weakness. I'm also a huge fan of metallics and the basic gold and silver shades are a really nice inclusion since they can amp up literally any other color.

Here are swatches of the whole set. Sexy standouts here are Girly (rusty brown-green duochrome), Totally Fetch (hot pink and wasssssup Mean Girls reference!), Gangsta (warm brown), and the two metals Instigator and Jailbird which both apply incredibly buttery and pigmented. I was definitely one happy camper staring at the prettiness swatched at this point!

Dainty / Charming / Girly / Totally Fetch / Miss Sparkle

Ringleader / Gangsta / Instigator / Badass / Jailbird

These were all applied on bare skin with no primer, which makes the pigmentation that much more impressive. The quality of everything in this palette was exceptional except for Badass (blue shimmer) which was simply not as creamy as the others and needed a couple swipes before looking opaque. I also appreciate that there was only one signature glitter here, Miss Sparkle, which makes sense since it's a black shade and glitters tend to be well-suited for nighttime looks.

Overall, I am seriously in lust with the shade selection in this palette both for everyday use and also for more fun looks too. It feels limited enough that it inspires creativity versus being intimidating like some variety palettes can often be. I can't wait to experiment with all the different possible combinations!

The Pretty Rebel palette is available now at Sephora.com and Ulta.com for $46. Pretty sure I've found my new must-have for Fall!

    1. Dainty is great! I just used it as a highlight shade today with Girly on the lid. :) It's lighter compared to Naked2 from Naked Basics though so just keep that in mind. :)
