Manicure Monday: Essie Naughty Nautical

6:00 PM

Happy Monday! Today's MM is another polish I picked up recently from my Target Haul when I went to check out the Back-to-School cosmetic selections. I'm not going to lie, the Essie display has always been a bit of a weakness for me since they have such wonderful shades every time. This breezy teal color called Naughty Nautical really caught my eye. Is that glass-fleck I see? A teal I don't own? Obviously this was a no-brainer purchase.

The color is a rich, green-based teal with silver glass flecks. This polish really surprised me when I applied it because it was darker and more emerald-toned than I expected it to be, so it really pops on the nails in a nice way which will work both for the Summertime and for Fall's trendy jewel-tones. I'm also happy to report that the little glass flecks show up on the nails as nicely as they do in the bottle, giving this cream polish a more interesting look.

Here I wore a base of OPI Nail Envy with 2 coats of Naughty Nautical and topped with Seche Vite Dry Fast Topcoat. The formula got thicker and subsequently trickier to work with by the second coat, but since the opacity was full by 2 coats and the color is so stunning, I'll forgive it. It definitely didn't give me trouble like the Etude House Ice Cream polishes!

Overall I'm incredibly happy with this shade and am so glad to add it as a unique color in my collection. Naughty Nautical is a part of Essie's Summer 2013 Collection and is now available for $8 USD.

Readers, are you still rocking the Summer nail colors or are you transitioning to Fall shades? What is your current favorite polish color? Let me know in the comments!

  15. Hello, I am Yun, Hyeon-Jeong from Korea. (Not North!!) I have a blog named ‘Korac’ It’s mainly about Nail Art & Polish. (You can visit it! http://blog.naver.com/korac) There are a lot of Korean fans of you, and I really looooove your posts as well. Unfortunately, there may be some people who don’t know about your blog yet or are not good at English. So! I want to to translate your posts to Korean and introduce your blog and posts to nail-art-loving Koreans. If you want, I can show you a sample. Will it be okay?
