Crazy Life and Vassen Circle Lenses
5:09 PMHello everyone. My life has honestly been pretty crazy lately due to a few random health speed-bumps that have spontaneously piled on top of each other. I think it's nothing too serious, but we shall see for sure after monitoring things for a bit.
One thing that has cheered me up lately was a most generous gift I was sent by the awesome Gregg. I know a lot of you love seeing lens pics and, although I don't wear them often, I do have a soft spot for colored lenses. These happen to be from the Korean brand Vassen which manufactures TONS of styles and colors of circle lenses. (Circle lenses are Asian lenses that give the person a wide-eyed "dolly" look due to their larger iris and limbal ring diameter.)
They are the "4COLOR" style in 2 Tone G (brown). I don't really understand how that makes sense, but regardless I really like these! I always wanted to try Tutti or Angel browns and I think these are a really similar dupe. They may be closer to Angels as these are a cool brown and have a thick limbal ring, but that is just judging from photos I've seen online.
Forgive my lack of mascara and good makeup, but I was anxious to try them out.
A close-up for you lens hounds:
I'm actually liking them more than I thought. With most circle lenses I've tried in the past, I've found them to be too overwhelming on my small face but these seem more like they bring the eyes a bit of a "charming" look. Maybe it's the color being the right shade of medium brown. Tutti greys made me look like an alien because the color was so dark. BT02 browns were just HUGE. I think I prefer this pattern more anyway. It blends with my eyes nicely and for the short time I wore them, they were very comfy.
I can't wait to wear them with a full-on makeup look that will really do them justice. Maybe I will attempt an over-the-top Asian princess-style net idol look! I just need to get one of those mini-tiaras. Ahaha. Should be so much fun.
Okay, dinnertime again! See ya~

Very pretty! I am a little scared to wear these since my normal contacts tend to make me tear up every now and then. This pair looks great on you though. Can't wait to see a full FOTD w/ them. And do please get a mini tiara! They're so much fun. I only have a tiny crown comb right now, but I totally want a small tiara for fun, lol.
ReplyDeletewow the lens look wonderful on you!!!! :D
ReplyDeleteYour eyes look mega huge and there is no tape. Are the tapes finally working? Is that a permanent crease? Lenses look great too!!!
ReplyDeleteCatherine: Well, I did a F21 online order with some bow bobby pins so maybe that can work instead of the crown. I do have my wedding tiara somewhere but that would be REALLY over the top!
ReplyDeleteAskmewhats: Thank you!!
Anonymous: Nope, still not permanent yet! Only temporary crease without tape. :P
Ooh, they look great on you. ^^
ReplyDeleteI have a question. In your blog header, what heels are you wearing? Thanks.
wow.. you look nice with those circle lenses. I was gonna order circle lenses for my nearsighted/astigmatism eyes, but it's not very easy to find suitable lens.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous: The heels are Linea Paolo brand. I bought them from Nordstrom last year for my wedding. :) I'll do a wedding post sometime in the future with closeup pics of them. They really are sparkly and beautiful.
ReplyDeletethose lens look gorgeous on ya! you look beautiful even without "good makeup". I'm in love with my GEO circle lens too :D getting green soon!
ReplyDeletethose look so cool! :3 i want to try circle lenses >u<
ReplyDeletewow the lenses look pretty on you :)
ReplyDeleteWow, those look absolutely gorgeous on you! If you don't mind me asking, where did you get your Vassen lenses? ^^
ReplyDeleteOMG I juz discovered ur blog and I absolutely luv it!!! We are pretty much the same size (I'm 4'10" size 4 shoes) and have the hardest time finding pants that fit!!! What size do u wear in kids 7FAM? I wear a 10 hehe... I used to shop at Nordies Rack all the time too!!! I think I'll start blogging about small size clothing in the future so if u have time come drop by my blog :)
ReplyDeleteBTW, ur circle lenses are really pretty, I have been procrastinating about getting some for a very long time now maybe soon xoxo
love the lens on you! is there
ReplyDeleteanyway you can order circle lens? i wanna try it but i don't know where to order them. is it okay to wear it if you have a stigmatism?
Anonymous 1: I got them from a friend, Gregg. :)
ReplyDeleteghettoflower: Awesome that you are close in size to me! I think my 7famk are size 10. You are lucky you have a nordies rack by you. I just have the regular dept store. I'm planning on putting some clothes up for sale soon (ugh, spring cleaning) so maybe you can find something that fits!
Anonymous 2: Sorry, but I don't really know much about ordering circle lenses... I don't sell them myself. ^^;;; You should probably order lenses made for astigmatism if you have it. I think GEO makes a black and brown circle lens for astigmatism. They are also called "toric" lenses. Hope that helps you find some. :)
thanks!
ReplyDeletebut do you know if prescriptions can be added?
those are stunning on you! your eyes just pop :)
ReplyDeletewhoa, as someone mentioned already, your folds are huge in this picture! and i don't think the makeup is anything to apologize for at all :)
ReplyDeleteHi Jen, I really like those contacts on you, I wear normal color contacts right now and I have heard about circle lenses in the past. But,I heard that they tend to make your eyes bad if you wear them for awhile. Like your eyesight will get worse,or something like that, but its bad for your eyes. I'm not really sure if its true, but I kinda wanted to try circle lenses, and I was just wondering if you know anything about that. Because maybe it depends on the brands? I'm not sure. But anywyaysss Byeee!!
ReplyDeleteAnonymous 1: Yes, toric lenses (and circle lenses) come in prescription.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous 3: I think people say circle lenses can be bad because the colored part makes it so that there is less oxygen getting to the eye, but it would be similar to any colored contact. If you take good care of your lenses and wear them within a reasonable length of time (under 6 hours for me, always) I don't think you really need to worry.
Hi! How does the comfort level for these compare to your Solotica Hidrocharmes? I absolutely love Solotica, but the pair I got isn't that comfortable after 2 hours. =[ I have the Geo Angel which enlarged way too much and looks like alien special effects! =X These seem more subtle and the pattern is nice.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous: In terms of comfort, I think it depends on what you feel is more comfortable: thick or thin lenses. Soloticas are pretty thick and I tend to take them out after around 4 hours. These are much thinner and feel more comfortable at first but I must have sensitive eyes because ALL lenses feel rather uncomfortable to me (I haven't worn them for a while so my eyes aren't used to them anymore.)
ReplyDeleteIn terms of looks, Solotica would be better for you since these enlarge more than my Hidrocharmes. I'd guess these are smaller than Angels but I really don't know. Could be similar. I do feel like my Tuttis made me look alienish but these didn't so it could also just be that these are brown. Sorry if that was confusing but I hope it helped. :)
Hey Jen!
ReplyDeleteI love how those look on you, they even look grey-ish, but natural.
Do you know where I can find Vassen's online from a reputable seller? Thanks!
You rock these! I am glad you like the effect! They look great in your video too! I really need to update my blog with some of mine!
ReplyDeleteDo you happen to know where I can purchase Vassen lens? I'm having the hardest time trying to find where I can buy them. Vassen seems rare to google, lol.
ReplyDeletedo those lenses have prescription in them?? I've been wanting a pair of colored lenses. i have a -4.50 vision ): ): and my friend says that colored lenses for my vision + astigmatism would cost $500+!!! is that true?
